enjoyed this tour a lot. we will be making our first trip out to l.a. in may and seeing the whisky, rainbow, viper, roxy, troubador, etc are high on our lists. we are in our 60's and remember when these places were really in their heyday. do you have a night time tour of the area you can recommend? we are staying at the hotel roosevelt as well...another classic. keep up the great work. love the music and videos.
@@sherikennedy4117 I misunderstood, but you should be able to find many. I do see the busses driving all over town all day and night. Once again, I really hope you have a wonderful time here!
Hey, thanks a bunch for the shoutout! I'm stoked that you found my channel to be one of the better ones. It's always great to hear that the explanations in the top left corner hit the mark and that you dig the music. Stay tuned for more awesome content!
great music! I often leave the video playing while in other parts of the house just for the music but then go back and rewind to watch the video AND listen to the music again!
Thanks for the feedback! I love the music by these Indie artists, and I am proud to showcase them here on my channel. There are lots of very talented musicians making great music all over the world, and I am always looking for new stuff.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sunset Strip is such a cool place, isn't it? It's like being in the heart of Hollywood. I'm glad the tour brought back memories for you and that you loved the music. Keep rocking!
Hey, thanks a lot for the shoutout! I'm stoked that you enjoyed the tour and found it informative. I'll do my best to keep bringing you more awesome content in the future. Stay tuned!
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the tour and appreciated the effort I put into pointing out the landmarks and selecting the perfect music. Your support means everything to me!
Your videos have style and a strong sense of place. The addition of music and calling out landmarks on Sunset make a big difference. Please keep it up.
Chateau Marmont where Jim Belushi died. I worked in that building on 6725 Sunset Blvd where Catalina Jazz Club is. It used to Petersen Publishing Company that published magazines like Motor Trend and Teen Magazine.
I stayed at the Days Inn at 7:46 when I went to Los Angeles in 2019. Probably too downscale for most people but good enough for me. I wanted to go to the In N Out next door but the lines were too long. The next morning I drove down Sunset past UCLA and up CA 1 to Malibu. A great trip. I also spent a night at the Hampton Inn in Santa Monica and drove to the Hollywood sign. I hope to go there again someday.
The KTLA studio right off the top is on the original Warner Brothers lot (pre-Burbank) on the site of the original Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies building, aka Termite Terrace.
3:50 It wasn’t coronavirus that caused Ameoba to close this location down. They didn’t own the building, just leased it. The building was torn down to change into apartments. They moved the store a few blocks to the east, into a custom space in a new apartment building. There’s no question the old location was MUCH better. But goes to show you can’t blame everything on COVID.
I love how you add the informative and descriptive blurbs, a very nice extra touch. I’ve been in love with southern California my whole life, and though I’ve visited on many occasions, iI’ve never lived there. Since I’vs found your channel, I’ve been binge watching with gobs of joy. Thank you so much good sir, well done!!
Why escape LA? Everyone here lives in a place most people all over the globe dream to visit. There is something awesome to do here every day of the year. I can not imagine living anywhere else, and I have been almost everywhere else in the US. Also, we have a lot of nice cars here. I saw a Rolls, a Bentley and 3 Ferraris on PCH just this morning
@@ridealongwithscott Well that is what a lot of other people are saying. Massive homelessness, taxes, corruption, places that were nice previously like sunset blv etc, now are mostly trash. You can easily see it in pure statistics, there is an exodus away from LA and ca to other states. Me? I would love to visit and one day maybe I can. Would be awesome if you were available as a tour guide for hire :P
My wife's family used to live close to the corner of Sunset and Hyperion which is going east instead of west. I believe this is West Hollywood or more the Silverlake area.
Tower Records at 16:42 on the right-hand side..... at the Viper Room (Owned by Johnny Depp, in case you didn't know) the 911 call for River was made by his brother, Joaquin Phoenix; SO SAD!!!
You forgot to label the Andaz Hyatt hotel aka the Riot House, where all the rock stars stayed in. The hotel got its nickname and reputation all because of crazy incidents with rockstars at the hotel. I say it is one of the most infamous hotels. If I ever go to LA, I would like to stay in the Andaz hotel, and hopefully, I will not be disappointed. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you didn't care about the hotel. 😃 it's okay, I understand.

I am not aware of any after dark tours of LA on UA-cam, but they may exist. Enjoy the stay at the Roosevelt and I hope your LA trip will be amazing!
@@ridealongwithscott not tours on youtube, ones in real life....lol. i think i have seen one but have to look it up again. thanks again.

This is a great tour.Did u forget to point out the Chateau Marmont?
I prolly missed it. There is sooo much going on on Sunset, a lot of things didn't make the edit process. Thanks for watching!
