    That block by Randall McDaniel on Mike Singletary (14:25 mark) is an absolute bone crusher! If Singletary had any doubts about retirement, I gotta think it ended after that block.

    Ditka's final season with the Bears was just sad to watch - seeing this proud team that still had a lot of over-the-hill veterans from their 80s powerhouse teams struggle to do much of anything, play in front of a half-empty Soldier Field and lose game after game.

    • @scoobycarr5558
      @scoobycarr5558 5 років тому +1

      But that was just a couple of bumps in the road, and that was a real shame that the Bears got rid of Ditka and replaced him with an even more inept guy in Wannstedt. That got the Bears into a funk in which they never got out of until 2001. And that got some former Bears fans to bolt to Green Bay.

    • @jamesgurksnis8546

    Another blowout loss that I can recall in Chicago when the Packers scored 40 points in 1989 was when the sports cameras showed a freight train with CNW engines. Now here I would have expected a freight train with Soo Line engines.

      I don't get it ???

    • @Steve_Hunts96
      @Steve_Hunts96 Рік тому

      @@vikeirishman Scooby Carr’s talking about TV cameras, when a broadcast is transitioning into a commercial, showing a passing-by train in Chicago, while likely displaying a scoreboard graphic with the train passing by in the background. In 1989 trains passing by would’ve been pulled by engines for a railroad known as the “Chicago Northwestern”, but in 1992, in the same exact spot, it would’ve been engines for a railroad known as the “Soo Line.”
      The Chicago rail network has seen a lot of changes over the years, so in comparing different years, in Scooby’s case 1989 & 1992, you would see different companies running trains in Chicago between those 2 years.

    1:38:14 Amazing to hear these comments from Dierdorf regarding Gannon, knowing that 10 years later, he would win the NFL’s MVP title, and would be playing in the Super Bowl with the Raiders! I feel like the Vikings should’ve kept Gannon around after 1992, especially after winning 11 games & a division title (I say that as a Packers fan believe it or not!), because he could’ve been something with them in that offense. To move on from him, to the aging Jim McMahon in 1993, and then after that Warren Moon in 1994, was a mistake IMO. No, Gannon’s stats in 1992 weren’t all that impressive, but it was only 1 year with Green as the coach… there easily could’ve been room to grow.

    the hard rock track used in the intro was used only in 1992, and only on select games
    for the rest of the Frank and Al and Dan era, Heavy Action would be used exclusively in Gifford's storyline intros (games played in late October 1994-96 used a special version of that tune called "Scary Action", an organ-based version designed to invoke a Halloween atmosphere)

      @@iwanttoseemrshow Harbaugh led the NFL in passer rating in 1995, finished 2nd in MVP voting, and if Aaron Bailey holds onto the Hail Mary in the 1995 AFC Championship Game, the Colts qualify for Super Bowl 30. The Colts have an "AFC Runner-up" banner commemorating that season which before the Peyton Manning era was the big Colts highlight going back to the beginning of the late 1970s and through their early years in Indianapolis.
