Identifying LEGO Minifigures Series 25 - Weighing vs QR Codes

After my visit to the LEGO store to try and get all the minifigures in series 25 was not entirely successful, I set out to get the 4 remaining minifigures. Initially I continue weighing minifigures in store, but then a new method involving scanning QR codes appears during the week. Find out how I get on, and my findings on which is the best way to guarantee success buying the minifigure you want.

Looks like a few big stores are not stocking these blind boxes, because of their losses from damage & theft on the last go around.

That is true, it is too much hassle for them and I assume it would be the store that takes the loss. The B&M store I got the last set from have a big display with 5 boxes of minifigures in it. They have been smart and put it close to the checkout, so the cashiers can spot anybody messing about with them easily.

Awsome information, the weights are spot on -0.15gms in Eastern Australia, probs the humidity in packets & leaflet. 2/2 vampire, 19.61, 19.64, 3/3 GH's 19.81, 19.88, 19.89 👌

The variation will have to do with the calibration of the cheap scales. You really need scales that do 0.001 not just 0.01 and you need to tare the scale with the included weight before each use 👏

@@construction_wolf Quick question, is the QR code method completely foolproof? I’ve just bought what I think is the mushroom head mini figure for my girlfriend and just wondering if I should buy another one just to check it’s definitely the right one before she opens it lol

How do you identify the smaller QR code??

I did that one by weight using my scales. That minifigure was the lightest, so one of the easier ones to get right.

On the Apple App Store I downloaded the free app called "QR Code Reader" by TapMedia Ltd.
