Dating lingo is so confusing now. Like the way it used to work:
Talking -> Dating -> Going out -> BF GF -> Steady -> Fiance -> Married
Now theres also situation-ships which just sounds like delusion to me. Talking seems to be non existent, Going out (repeatedly dating) seems to be gone. Steady (BF GF for a long time) now seems to be indefinite, and marriage can be ended by the tiniest of speed bumps. Not to mention Dating now seems to mean "Spend horrific amounts of money on me long before you know anything about me at all or you hate me".
Talking means hooking up. But she doesn't count it against her body count unless they get to the BF GF stage.
I always perceived dating as: crush > bf & gf aka dating > fiancé > married. I don't understand what "situationship" and "just talking" mean. Are those just new ways to say "hook-up and friends-with-benefit" or something else?
@@LinguaSerbia Talking means you haven't gone on a date yet but are showing interest, basically its just talking. If we added crush it would be before talking. Apparently situationship is like friends with benefits, but closer to the so called "open relationship". Or the way I'd put it, a 1 night stand that never ends, zero romance.
It seems I overestimated the "on a scale of 1-10, how ready are you for a relationship?" I thought it was about how prepared are you for the responsibility of a relationship. So I was considering how much I've grown as a person. Do I still have the same hang ups I had in past relationships? Etc.
Then realized the question was just, "how willing are you to commit to a relationship"
Wait what-I would have never answered in the willingness way lol. I also thought it was preparedness.

How does the second person to approach know that the first person is gay? Or was that something they just figure out during the speed date?
Some of these prompts are quality, I like that it creates a chance for both people to offer some substance. I watch reactions to The Button just for the second-hand cringe and laughs, but this more wholesome approach is still entertaining. Kinda makes me think of 'School of Life' channel and how they say you should be open early on in a relationship about your flaws and traits, so the other person is prepared - I think they sell prompt cards and it might be kinda like this...just not in the first 5 minutes of your first date haha! I've introduced most of my boyfriends to my family and it was never an issue. I liked my parents knowing all the people I've dated and seeing how compatible my partner was with my family. When I introduced my current boyfriend it felt really good that both my mom and dad liked him a lot and had others to compare that against for what could have been. Any time I've dated anyone I wanted it to work long term and family is important

What the girl in the pigtails said about not being able to change people is so relatable. I too have had to learn that the hard way and still have emotional trauma from those relationships.
I would 100% sit down at that because I gave up on online dating. After 3 years of using 5 apps simultaneously 90% of girls either tried to sell me porn or never said anything.

I'm pretty sure they're bots... don't give up, dating apps are useless for men, the supply and demand is ruthless... plus you need to know how to "sell" yourself through photos, description, approach... like a job interview but without salary.

@Amala I bought my first house sight unseen at 21 - had no plans to move or buy a house even 1 month before hand but God opened the door and I walked through.
Now I’m 25 and just bought 25 acres in the same state and my husband and I are going to build a house with trees from the property.
It's my dream to have a little homestead. But it may be a bit til I can afford it where I live

You said to comment on being ready to buy a home or have children. Having done both within the last 5 years… it’s one of those things that you’re never gonna feel 100% ready to take on. You can want it with all your heart and still have doubts about the outcome. My advice is to just go for a it and figure it out as you live through it. Mainly I’m talking about having your first baby. Of course that advice doesn’t apply to every specific situation.. I just mean if you’re earning enough money as a couple to get by and you both want it then the time is right. It’s never going to be perfect.. you’ll always feel like you should have saved more money first, or bought your dream home first etc. Have kids as soon as you’re ready and don’t wait for the perfect amount of time or money..

I think it's interesting that Amala said she noticed the students say "like" a lot. One thing I've noticed through multiple videos of Amala is that from time to time, she audibly swallows during sentences. Nothing against her. I think she's an amazing and beautiful young woman with a great head on her shoulders. I agree with a vast majority of her opinions and think she's wonderfully brilliant. It's just a small thing I've noticed with the swallowing.

The question about a traumatic event that turned out to be a blessing seems to be a question to put their current rejection into perspective. When they can focus on something that is more traumatic than the moment they’re currently experiencing, and still see a blessing in it, then later on, they’ll see that in this moment where they were “rejected” there’s a blessing in it.

Part of the significance of the year in school is that when you graduate you often move away, so it means a time limit till separation.

My older sister came home from college one year introduced her boyfriend, dated him for a week, then broke up with him because even though she was friends with him for over a year she didn’t know he wasn’t Christian. (Major thing for her for him to be Christian) Then a week or two later introduces her new boyfriend. Before this she would date someone for 4-6 months break up and two or three weeks later have a new boyfriend. (All of them got introduced to my parents) There were the exceptions that made it over this time period. She dated a guy once for over a year, broke up, and two weeks later was with someone else. Then tries to offer relationship advice. From her I learned to get to know someone more as a friend before dating and also to not be like her to date just to date. Been single my whole life but had one guy I was interested in potentially dating. Learned that he is highly allergic to pollen and I was currently in the process of turning my parent’s yard into a flower paradise. I realized we wouldn’t be able to marry because I want a yard full of flowers for me and my future kids to pick. Glad I didn’t date him just to break up over a simple detail that a friend would know.
Also, whenever she was single she would break down crying “I just cannot be alone. This friend is getting married and I am single and I rather be dating someone and it’s unfair and I just cannot be single right now”. She is 23.
My dad has some opinions about my sister after he has meet so many “boyfriends”. My mom couldn’t care less. She thought each one was her ment to be and that they would get married.
