It's so sad that Sleuth of Ming Dynasty didn't do well in China. I mean really unremarkable shows become insanely popular and this one falls through the cracks? Now we won't ever get a sequel. But in case this is picked up for another season, I hope they lean into the CP a bit more fearlessly.
Can you guys explain what happened? I don't understand. Why didn't it do well in China?? I just finished this drama and is awesome! What happened? 😔

I found this bl drama yesterday and I saw in the comments that in China it didn't do well but it can be a success or a huge success internationally for several reasons :
- The lead actors acted so well, have good chemistry on screen. All the cast was good
- The story is captivating
- The quality of the film, the settings, costumes... are great
- This bl drama gives so much emotions : you can laugh, cry, be sad , be angry...
- The main actors have great personality, are multitalented and really handsome
- The ost is good
To conclude I hope they will do a season 2 of this MASTERPIECE. 🥰
Yes i agree with you. I hope it be a success internationally. Most comments about this drama are divided about the bromance/bl thing. But for me I found the bromance though subtly portrayed was actually strong.
I started the drama without knowing the actors, and i think they're fairly new but they really portrayed their characters so well I ended up loving them and I am currently obsesses about Fu Meng Po.
May I ask why it didn't do well in China?? I just finished watching it and it was awesome! Why wasn't it successful?

I just finished watching it a few days ago. Wonderful drama with great plot. I also fell in love with the actors especially Fu Meng Bo. I’m going to find another dramas of his to watch.

Interesting. Meng Bo's drawing brings out a certain sinister, covert characteristic to the drawing of Darren Chen. My impression of him has always been innocent, exuberant and youthful. Perhaps Meg Bo knows him better than we do.
I think he drew him like that was because in the picture he’s squinting against the sun and it’s taken from the top so his eyebrows are a more prominent feature which makes it look mischievous lol
