To be honest that advice is more about safety. All the support systems like a ABS, ESP, ASR etc. work correctly only when You are with gear on. Is that all about.

The difference between eco acceleration und "normal mode" acceleration is that you have to put the throttle more to ground to have the same acceleration. In both modes the acceleration is the same if you put the throttle to the ground.

@@djtom1981 On the Autobahn I didn't see a difference. I tried it at 110 km/h and 130 km/h. In the city and on country road i used the eco mode only once. In my opinion the eco mode makes more sense for the 1.2 TCe.
