Regarding the pre drop, where you mention going from big and lots of reverb to minimal and clean for maximum impact. -> One thing I've also noticed is that some producers play the drop lead an octave higher during the build up and then when the drop hits, it's down to the original octave. Going from big and dreamy to low and hella dirty.
