John Byrne is a fucking real one and he had his little furry buddy's back when they had no one but each other. Definition of a real mate right there.
The internet has ruined my view on the word furry
furries ☺️
@@The-Floor. dont worry he and the rabbit arent THAT close
A lot of homeless people are the most caring pet owners. There was this one homeless guy outside the place I used to work who had a small little dog, and both of them were clearly very malnourished. However whenever the guy was given food he’d always split it with his pet because he cared so much for him.
@@The-Floor. Imagine it from the perspective of a non-native speaker (me) who learnt the internet meaning b4 the actual one
A man who cares for a pet rabbit is a pure soul. You have to be a gentle and patient person to gain the trust of most rabbits.
Yeah, though had the rabbit passed. Well the furry of a gentleman is a terrifying thing. Heared a story were this gentle giant guy got attacked by this bully and his friends. The guy basically went the incredible Hulk on these guys taking down three of them before they all just dog piled on him. Next day the guy sees the bully in class he just clockes him sending him over a desk and telling him he better leave education. School had cameras which caught some of yesterday's fight so the gentle guy got off relatively Scott free.
@MarioPLEX !!! Oh I also vandalized a laundromat. I wrote swastikas and anarchy symbol and Satan shit and wrote the f word many times and drew a c0ck and many bad things. And I never got caught on that either
that's my problem. I'm not gentle. I'm *_aggressive_*

You know a law system is broken when someone who did 138 crimes is on the loose still doing them
Fun fact; Gary Kearney later made headlines again! This time described as a Serial Offender, he took to another bridge in Dublin, where he and another stopped a passerby, claiming to be plainclothes members of An Garda Síochána, the other man in possession of a radio. He quoted a section of law to justify searching him, and demanded the man give over his personal belongings, and then handcuffed him. At this point, the man began to believe the two were not Gardaí, as they had been verbally abusive and quite rough with him, so fearing he may be pushed into the Liffey while handcuffed, he demanded his belongings back. He was uncuffed, and all except his phone were returned. After an argument where he demanded it back, and the two claimed he could collect it from the Garda Station, they again tried to handcuff him, at which point a bystander intervened
Gary Kearney, at age 25, and his accomplice were charged with Theft, False Imprisonment, and Robbery. In September of 2016, Gary Kearney plead guilty to all charges before the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, adding to his prior 160 accumulated at this point

People like that don't change. If he's willing to throw someone's pet off a bridge who knows what else he's done
As someone who owned a pet rabbit, this man deserves a longer sentence. Rabbits could LITERALLY DIE if they get scared. They easily can die from a heart attack from things like this, if not by drowning. They are prey animals, so they naturally know that they are low on the food chain and already have a rapid heart beat (140-180 bpm) due to how small they are.
from people like you (as in- rabbit owners I found online) I've also learned that getting wet can seriously harm a bunny (hypothermia IIRC)
John saved Barney from an event that could've killed him in 4 different ways
I think that's what ended up happening to the rabbit here, but John was quick enough to save him

When I was homeless I had a pet pigeon who would sit on my shoulder. I never needed a leash or cage for him. He was always right there with me at all times. One day I got attacked by 3 men. I barely got away from them. But while I was struggling to get up and away from the men, I heard the most awful crunch sound. It was my bird he got run over by a car. He wasn't looking at what was around him. He was worried about me and was trying to think of what to do. After everything was clear to come back. I went to him. He was still alive. It's 2023 he is still like that even after money how?.
@@prachisaini1as somebody who's been homeless before, you don't really make enough to live off of begging.
The stigma around being homeless makes it basically impossible to get a job (especially since you can't really take care of yourself properly). On top of that, there are just a bunch of services that you can't really access because you don't have a home. You don't have a permanent address to put on any sort of official documents, Banks often won't service you even if you do get a job meaning you have to go to predatory payday lenders, etc.
Most of the money that you get basically goes to just trying to survive through the day. Maybe enough to get a hot meal, pay for a gym membership so you have the ability to actually shower occasionally. Maybe get a tent because the hell of a lot cheaper than rent until you get back up on your feet, etc. Add in stuff like probably having bad credit, landlords not wanting to rent to you because of a bad or non-existent rental history, prior criminal convictions, a lack of transportation like a car to get to work if you can find a job (combined with bad public transit, in the US at least), etc and you got a situation where the majority will basically stay in homelessness.
On top of that, the "chronically homeless" (I.e. people who are homeless for extended periods of time, not just temporarily like a few months) tend to have a bunch of additional issues like physical or mental disabilities, addiction, etc which makes it even harder to get back on your feet. It's difficult to get a job if you literally can't do the jobs that would hire you, and it's difficult to get an apartment when your entire paycheck is going to the rehab center you're at trying to get clean (seriously, I don't think people realize how predatory a lot of rehab centers are, especially anything run by the salvation army or AA).
It's expensive to start your life all over again, and since society insists on punishing homeless people for past mistakes, instead of helping them to move on, it's even harder to reintegrate into society. That's why you see so many older homeless people, once you've adapted to a society that basically doesn't see you as human because you've lived without a home for so long, it almost becomes easier to just deal with the lifestyle and the challenges it faces. If society doesn't want you, why even bother trying to join it?

If you have amassed 138 convictions by age 20... I think it's time society locks you away forever.
Someone like that does not belong anywhere near the rest of society.
I agree wholeheartedly
I'd say what the convictions actually are would be important, but simply for the rabbit🐇, life
@@dayandere2669 even if they're all "petty" it clearly shows that the guy needs to be under surveillance. this could easily be his worst crime and that fact that he did it just to hurt the homeless man would suggest there's something not right mentally and it could easily get worse.

Rabbit hunting does exist, though that feels different than this. Rabbit hunting you do for food, this was just pure malice. This man saw that somebody had something that made them happy despite the circumstances, and acted to try and take away that something, and feeling pleasure from it. This is the kind of person that would just kill the rabbit just because it made other people happy. Hateful. Hope he changes his ways or gets what he deserves.
@@nesyboi9421 the intended cause of death is awful too, when someone kills something for food they make sure they animal doesnt suffer bcuz well thats just unfair no one wants to go out that way, but drowning is an incredibly slow way to go tho technically 90% of rabbits in this case wouldve died from a heart attack from shock but that asshole of a man prolly didnt know that and somehow genuinely funny to drown someone in a river by yeeting them off a bridge

as a bunny mom I'm so glad the baby was okay in the end.
Im curious tho what do you feed a bunny as a homeless man? Do you have any list thats easily accessible in your experience
they can survive off just grass and water and in domesticity we feed them hay lettuce fruits etc
Sameee
I'm not the homeless man lol. me and my baby live in our apt. bunny's can live a nice life with Timothy hay and pellets and some treats here and there like chunks of whatever fruit they love. it would be more difficult being homeless with a bunny but I assume provided they live in a tent or some type of roof over their head at night all they would need to worry about for their baby is getting hay at the very least and having a potty for them so they can remain clean.
@djcanda7824 I meant to tag you sorry. and it is fairly easy to walk into a pet store and get everything they'll need. carrying it back to where they live they would need a rolly cart of some sort but it is totally doable.
and also if they can they can get a pobox and have their food bought online and sent there where they can go together to pick it up as needed. I get Haven's food and stuff delivered since I have to walk everywhere.
Bro let his intrusive thoughts win lol

I'd like to point out, in Irish law here, 139 convictions does not mean 139 arrests. A single act usually results in multiple counts at once. What is noteworthy however, is that in Ireland, your convictions before you turn 18 are wiped from your record. That means he had 139 counts against him in just two years.
Amazing.
