To my knowledge, this line is SpinMaster's first attempt at larger scale adult collectible figures. They do look fairly wonky, hopefully they improve over time. Please do keep in mind, this is the company responsible for creating AirHogs and Paw Patrol! 🤣
Heh, yeah, me neither, but they didn't have ankle tilt and felt brittle so I stopped after....the big greenish smoke monster. I think that's his name....
I painted and shaded mine, also added a matte finish afterward and I gotta tell ya guys, it makes a world of difference. It really brings out the phenomenal sculpt work.
Love the ps1 intro. Very current :) (30th anniversary and all) but totally loving the use of the logo at the start. I bought one of your tees with that logo on it and it's one of my proudest possessions! Cheers dude
Hey Robo! Great review! Maybe the open loop in Ellie's backpack is for the bow. Looked kinda weird the bow and string smushed together. Love from Brazil!!!
very surprising, actually really like these. this line has been a sleeper hit I'd say, doesnt rival jada toys or anything as far as a complete package with the price but for what i was expecting they have a lot more to them than i had initially thought when i heard spinmasters was making them. im fortunate that we have some pretty stelar third party figures in the Limtoys ones but if youre on a tight budget these are such a good alternative, ESPECIALLY for customs like logan and laura.
@RoboDontKnow Yeah, they do. Aloy's mid torso joints are hidden in her costume, and the hair articulation is a great feature. I wish Jin had double jointed elbows, but he can still get into some great sword holding poses.
@@BertRamDam I'm in for the whole Horizon line, if they continue it. Definitely need a Sunwing. the Avatar Banshee from McFarlane works in a pinch, but for obvious reasons it's not ideal.
For the price i think spin master did a great job yes there not perfect but there's not many last of us figures on the market in the 6inch scale excellent review as always dude 👊
I think I’m to a point with collecting where if a character is wearing “normal” clothes, I want a soft goods figure. If they’re wearing armor or a costume the articulation cuts don’t ruin it too bad, but wrinkly, loose street clothes NEED to be real fabric in my opinion. This line looks cool, I definitely want Aloy and MAYBE Kratos (I already have a GOW statue so idk if I also need a figure) but I’m glad I got the limtoys versions of Joel and Ellie and figma Jin Sakai
Not a huge gamer, but Last of Us was a masterpiece in my opinion. I was curious about these figures and I’m glad to see your review but now I’m more on the fence than I was before😮
I've gotten a few of the PS figures (joel and ellie, kratos, aloy, and jin) and yeah, they aren't amazing but they are good (especially having vertical hinges on the weapon hands).
Aloy from the same line is amazing, don't know if she could be used as base for customs, but the print on the faces and accesory count are on par with import figures.
What a coincidence! I'm just watching the TV show right now. Been binging it today and yesterday and I'm at the end now. I know I'm late to it, but I only played the game last year so.. yeah.
To be honest I had "this is definitely becoming Logan and Laura" the whole time I was looking at the figures. I don't have a lot of connection to the game but I loooooooooove potential fodder.
I have the Kratos figure and it's honestly really good. The sculpt is great, there's plenty of detail in the paint apps, and it's easily the most poseable Kratos in the market. His articulation is very fluid and easy to work with. His accessories need paint though, but for the price, an excellent figure of Kratos.
Nice to see you review this set, Robo! I’m a massive TLOU fan, it’s one of my favorite series of all-time. As someone who much prefers sculpt and paint over articulation, I really like this set, but those funky ab crunches definitely break up the sculpt more than I’d like. Apparently Spinmaster is making a 2-pack of Joel and Ellie from the HBO show too, so I can’t wait to see how those are!
Looking for a good looking Last of Us set, I recommend the ILM toys set. The only thing this has over the other is that Ellie can sit. Mine have been my favorite figures I own
I got a few of these figures, bought the Aloy one and liked it enough to get Jin Sakai, which is a cool figure too. During the holidays Amazon had a sale on the rest of the series and got the Kratos and this pack as well. I think that this pack is the lowest point for the first assortment. With the best being Aloy and Kratos as a close second.
I'm really hoping they get around to releasing some infected figures to go with these. They would make them even more complete, especially as a huge fan of both games.
I got the Jin, it is a nice figure. Details are very good and articulation is ok without being great. Size wise, it is closer to Figma figures than Hasbro, so keep that in mind if size is important for you.
The torsos are a bit rough. Joel's diaphragm joint makes it look like he's wearing a maternity shirt. And Ellie's diaphragm to ab crunch - oof. I like the idea of these PS figures, but the execution just isn't there for me.
It would be cooler if the PlayStation figures in the line came with or had a rebate for the same console they originally came out on? PS3 for Joel and PS2 for Kratos.
This line is just so close to being something, IDK it just feels like it's missing just one thing. I have a huge bias towards GoW and their Kratos just feels like it falls short in just a few too many places. Maybe once they start really expanding the properties to include some of the more cartoony IPs we can have a good display ( I would love new Ratchet and Clank figures) then the line might have some more value.
As a guy who hates waist cuts, and a guy who loves TLOU dearly, these are an abomination to me 😂. I’m very happy to have spent the money on the beautiful Limtoys set. But I hope you get some customization value out of them.
I think the review is way too harsh. These figures are stellar for the price point, especially for Part I-figures, which are far more popular than the sequel.
Robo, I also do not know the property. PlayStation gave a serviceable effort. The balance of plastics and articulation is a fine one. Some give right but paint apps look off. Some hold color well but crack like a son of gun. This mix was ok. I agree the sculpt for the most part was well done. The paint apps were the ussual how tired or what kinda day did the person who did the application have. Not sure if the reference figures were done justice. Great review.✌️
The torso articulation is beautiful and would be handicapped if they did it how you described. Having the double method allow fantastic flexibility. It would still be good simplifying it but one point gets it crunching and the other gets it super crunching much like doing the same method with two point with one point at each end of the neck. Valaverse upgraded Action Force with that in his heads and it’s a huge improvement. Ellie’s articulation is fantastic as well. It speaks for itself. Spinmaster’s pivot to 6” is incredible. It’s a huge change and many of their figures are at the top of figure of the year lists. Your reactions to these two are mind-boggling to me. If you reviewed the Horizon Zero Dawn figure the same I’d scream trolling. 😊
I saw the box in one of my local shops the other day, and thought... ew. No. They just look a bit off. I have not played the game, so have no stake in it, but might have picked them up if they looked a little better.
Spinmaster started off strong with these Playstation figures, but they need to ditch the single joint elbow for double joint. It's 2025 now, single joint shouldn't be a thing anymore.
They need to make them bigger. I would prefer 1/10 line if possible. These are too small for even 1/12. Hopefully we can get some larger enemy types from God of War or Last of Us etc
Honestly you pick the worst ones to review and get. I got the Kratos & Atreus figures and they're solid figs. Articulation and paint, everything out of the park. I think these were the only duds.
I'm not familiar with the game or the characters, so I don't know. Is the guy supposed to have a pot belly? Because the way that shirt and chest swivel are set up, he looks like he has a pot belly.
Unfortunately small line, I was really excited for the shapes collection until I saw how awful kratos' scale was, lost interest after. Oh well, I'll keep putting my magic wish towards mcfarlane losing the dc license
To my knowledge, this line is SpinMaster's first attempt at larger scale adult collectible figures. They do look fairly wonky, hopefully they improve over time. Please do keep in mind, this is the company responsible for creating AirHogs and Paw Patrol! 🤣
Naw, they did the 1/12 scale League of Legends figures. Wasn't offensive but rougher in places. The Shapes Collection is an upgrade from that.
@@RoboDontKnow to quote a charming content creator: "Yoyo don't know League of Legends" :)
Heh, yeah, me neither, but they didn't have ankle tilt and felt brittle so I stopped after....the big greenish smoke monster. I think that's his name....

That intro with the PS1 sound was 10/10! :)

Sculpts are gorgeous. I was also impressed with the paint given Hasbro and Mattel of late.

I absolutely need some version of Joel and Ellie in my collection but it seems like we have to wait again for some decent figures
I've picked up Aloy and Jin Sakai from The Shapes Collection and I've been fairly impressed. Actually, Aloy is my figure of the year for 2024.
They have a lot more overlays to hide the articulation, don't they? I totally agree they look great until the torsos.
@RoboDontKnow Yeah, they do. Aloy's mid torso joints are hidden in her costume, and the hair articulation is a great feature. I wish Jin had double jointed elbows, but he can still get into some great sword holding poses.
Aloy has a feature I think is kinda cool and if improved can be a game changer for long haired female figures: Articulated hair.
Aloy is definitely the one to get from this line. One of my favorite figures of the past year.
@@BertRamDam I'm in for the whole Horizon line, if they continue it. Definitely need a Sunwing. the Avatar Banshee from McFarlane works in a pinch, but for obvious reasons it's not ideal.

I think, I'd opt for just getting the head and accessories and popping it onto a base body. Buy soft goods as a clothing option to recreate.
Great video robo! Never played this game but the figures look amazing
Great review as always, buddy and thanks for the shout out

I'm going to guess so, since I don't have the LimToys but know their reputation.

The loop on my backpack was also split. I looped Ellie's pistol through to store it there. Might be intentional.

A great review Robo. I haven't picked these up yet, i do have Aloy, & Varl from this line though. Aloy is an amazing figure.
The first Last of us game is a masterpiece! 🙌🏼
It's a wonderful standalone experience.
It has a perfect ending imo. Ellie excepts Joel is lying to her but there was nothing for her with the fireflies

After hearing about the Logan, Laura customs I was more interested in that than what was being reviewed.

i really didnt like how much gut joel was showing in a neutral pose but the bags really fix up the proportions as far as the silhouettes are concerned
Robo I have found it nice to have the upper bicep swivel for some poses especially if the character is an archer or is reading a book🤔👍😊
I really want these guys for TV show Walking Dead customs. I’m thinking Daryl and Carl 🧟♂️
I was thinking of getting them you may have helped my decision, the first game if I remember I don’t think Joel was as grey
They put more gray in his hair for the remaster but yeah in the OG release he had more brown hair.
Let’s go spin master, back with some more heat
I purchased kratos and Jin sakai loved the line
I was sort of curious about the Jin Sakai figures, but it sort of got overshadowed by other toys.
I got the Jin, it is a nice figure. Details are very good and articulation is ok without being great. Size wise, it is closer to Figma figures than Hasbro, so keep that in mind if size is important for you.
I have Aloy (because I love those games) and she’s great, but I passed on the others.
Yeah, the torso articulation on both figures is the first thing that jumps out at me. I feel like someone else could do way better
SpinMasters needs to get us some HellDivers 2 figures ASAP
With how popular Helldivers 2 proved to be, there's no way we won't get a Helldiver in this line. I think it's just a matter of time.
The torsos are a bit rough. Joel's diaphragm joint makes it look like he's wearing a maternity shirt. And Ellie's diaphragm to ab crunch - oof. I like the idea of these PS figures, but the execution just isn't there for me.
That's exactly what I said!
I think Joel looks like the perfect fodder for a custom john marston
Billy bay son custom or a young Franklin Richard might of to find a couple loose
Or maybe a valeria or x 23 from Logan
That's certainly one way to do torso articulation...
It would be cooler if the PlayStation figures in the line came with or had a rebate for the same console they originally came out on? PS3 for Joel and PS2 for Kratos.
I think that would be hard to keep track of now that those are only sold on the secondary market.
I would like this, but I do not think I want them enough to pay retail. If I see them discounted, it'll be much more compelling.

Does it come with a golf club?
Yeah, can't have Joel without his trusty golf club.
They just announced season two begins in March, last night. Timing?
Maybe a good ps5 spiderman or uncharted collection 🤷♂️🤷♂️

The more you know.
That's enough for anyone to know what you're talking about, haha.
Damn it's between $50 and $60 It's cheaper on Amazon than Big Bad toy store.
That upper torso cut, makes Joel look pregnant… 😉😁😂🤣
How much you want for the Ellie head if you do a Laura? My Ellie had a wonky ass misprinted eye and looks like sloth :/

bit too shiny for me, they would look great after a dull coat
no idea why Sony chose this company (known for paw patrol) to do their figures it doesnt make sense, unless it was the cheapest option
The intro took me out.
The whole Spinmaster shapes line is promising. In terms of early swings, better than several competitors
Ellie and Joel can shoulder the rifles and shotty just fine. First pose I always... Aim for.
This is a nice choice if you missed the neca version
What, no warning to not put small parts in my mouth? Guess I’m eating some tiny weapons…
Why would they put that hideous a crunch on Ellie?
