Random KOFXV Combos Vol. 6 (v.1.62-1.71)

Combos in the video were performed from January 19th to February 24th.
While we await the final part of the Virtua Clone Wars saga, here's a combo video! Started working on these when season 2 dropped. Stopped doing combos towards the end of February. Thought I'd dump them here before the update so my hard drive can breathe. I don't have the season 2 characters yet but I did get Team Pass 2 with Team Samurai and Team Awakened Orochi. So far, Haohmaru's the only one in the bunch that's caught my interest.
Haohmaru's pretty dope. His combos hit hard and feel satisfying to pull off. He's pretty reliant on meter but not to the extent of Rugal and Antonov. He's just really cool, the wandering samurai with a bottle of sake in his hand. Some of his combos are a little tricky if you want a fully optimal combo, like with his special DPs where he dashes forward and does a bit more damage than with a regular DP. Haohmaru suffers quite a bit against zoners and other characters that can fight at a distance. And of course, his hitboxes are pretty scuffed, though I don't know/remember if SNK has fixed them by now. Unlike most characters I play around with, I decided to be experimental with Haohmaru, doing very unusual but stylish combos to test my skills (I totally did not steal these from other combomakers).
Anyhow, most of the video contains combos for characters like King of Dinosaurs, Terry and Benimaru. There are very few Ash, Elisabeth and Antonov combos sprinkled throughout. Betty and Antonov are pretty much the same as before. Ash's combos got nerfed. He can no longer do death combos or get stun combos as easily as before. They're still possible, but you're going to have to work considerably harder for them now. Not the biggest fan of the change, but I understand why SNK did it. Then there are one-off combos with Ryo, Maxima, Iori and Yamazaki. Yamazaki finally has a proper death combo now! How crazy is that? Ryo's got some pretty nutty stuff as well. I just found those two combos for Iori and Maxima respectively online and I wanted to replicate them because they were cool.
I tried out KoD because I saw that he was buffed and, let's be honest, dinosaurs are cool. And what's even cooler than dinosaurs? Dinosaur wrestlers! Now, I don't really like getting super close to my opponent (C'mon, I play Ash, what did you expect?), which is why I've been put off by grapplers for the longest time. Fortunately, KoD has a lot more stuff up his sleeves than just command grab. Thanks to season 2, he's more versatile than before! His combos are pretty dope and fun to pull off! He even has an anti-air grab, which I didn't know about. It's so cool, and you can even use it in combos! Of course, he's pretty meter reliant as you'd expect (Team G.A.W. has TWO meter reliant fellas. Poor Ramón who may only use meter sparingly). He's also on the slower side, being a grappler-ish character and all. He's not a character I'm considering learning seriously, he's just a fun diversion on the side when I just want to goof around and torment my friends with command grabs. :)
Then there's Terry and Benimaru. These are some of the characters that my boyfriend plays. He's decent at the game but could be better. I decided to investigate these two characters to see what they were capable of. Terry's got some pretty cool-looking combos. Benimaru does, too. Terry's pretty simple to learn, with easy but powerful combos. I'd say Benimaru isn't as easy but his combos are pretty strong as well, you just need a bit more creativity with them. Terry has fun ways to perform his combos, like linking together certain EX moves for some amusing results. Benimaru has nice moves keep his combos going without spending meter, which is nice!
Honestly, I'm running out of things to say since it's been a while since I've done these combos and it's been a while since I've opened the game in general (April 4th as of May 16th, according to Steam). Anyways, enjoy these combos! There's a bunch of them! They're sick! They're useful! They're completely useless but look cool so who cares!
