Friction is forward if the car is accelerating. That’s why cars go forward. The tires “want” to spin backward relative to the road but the road prevents that and (friction) pushes them forward. I have a video much further on that briefly explains friction on wheels that are being pushed compared to friction in wheels that are being torqued.
