My heartfelt thanks for including The Way of Edan here among these giants, Sam! 😊 You did such a beautiful job of describing all of the books that I want to reread/read them all!
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy Thank you for writing a book very much worthy of the list! And as I said in the video, Return shall be featuring in the near future too ;) And thank you for the kind words! It's certainly easier to describe books that leave a lasting impression.
I’m doing Shadow of the Gods and Way of Edan in the next week or two - looking forward to them both :) I’m a relatively new booktuber myself - definitely subbing to see what’s coming next from you!
@@fourcornersofthepage You've got some excellent reading coming up! Welcome to the community! Thanks for the support. Life's crazy atm but I will be sure to check your channel out soon :)
Very much agree with your mention of Ender's Game. It was a brilliant novella and a better novel. A few that I'd mention, in no particular order, and without serious research: Magician, Raymond Feist On Basilisk Station, David Weber Trading in Danger, Elizabeth Moon Arrows of the Queen, Mercedes Lackey Quarter Share, Nathan Lowell March Upcountry, David Weber & John Ringo The Sleeping Dragon, Joel Rosenberg Super Powereds Year 1, Drew Hayes The Rock Hole, Reavis Z. Wortham Sharpe's Rifles, Bernard Cornwell Forever War, Joe Haldeman The Forge, SM Stirling & David Drake Hammer's Slammers, David Drake Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Elizabeth Moon Beguilement, Lois McMaster Bujold Curse of Chalion, Lois McMaster Bujold Warrior's Apprentice, Lois McMaster Bujold (arguably not the first of the series, but it's the first of the Miles Vorkosigan books, so I'm counting it)
After having seen the movie of enders game i started reading the entire book series, enders game was originally written as a short story. It is no longer the first book. If you want to read all the books in the saga you should start with "earth unaware". Still, enders game is a great book as a stand alone. Edit: the rest of the books are not bad, it's just that enders game is the best book in the series.
