When hundreds of us gathered together to flip 10 pots of dolma simultaneously at the Assyrian Pool Party, everyone was overjoyed and had a surreal, genuine experience, and I knew at that moment that life is too short to be ignorant and not adventure to see a glimpse of what our ancestors were able create for us. Our people need to do their best to take ownership of their ancestor's legacies, and strive for a future where our upcoming generations can continue to experience our fruitful heritage forever without fear or concern.

It should also be mentioned/explained that Nineveh (in Sureth: Ninweh) is the capital of Assyria and Ninwayeh (e.g. Bautha d’Ninwayeh) means Ninevites in Sureth.

A journey to the land of the Old Testament in modern-day Iraq could be described as a pilgrimage to the roots of human history and spirituality. Ancient and modern cities are side by side, so the past coexists uniquely with the present. You won’t experience anything like it anywhere else in the world.

    Correction as I misspoke:
Hammurabi never conquered Assyria. I don’t believe he ever attacked Assyria

Abraham is the reason why the Great Pyramid complex is remembered as Giza. Abraham was a Chaldean from Haran, a city right next to the city of Gozan in northern Babylonia and he later moved and lived among the Philistines at the city of Gaza which was the chief city of the Philistine Pentapolis of the Five Lords of the Philistines. Gaza is pronounced GAY-zuh and could easily be the origin of the present Giza. One of the cities of this Pentapolis was called Gath and was home to the famous giant Goliath. Abraham is especially venerated by the Hebrews,

Hammurabi was an Amorite. The empire of the Chaldeans with king Nebuchadnezzar sitting at the helm was short lived as in 30 something years. They fell and conquered by the Persian king “Cyrus” around 600 BC, not the Romans or Greeks or any other !

    Before any word called Assyrian…
Like the Babylonian Anunnaki, Sumerian Igigi, and biblical Nephilim, the Chaldeans were originally a race called the Khaldises, an order of divinities themselves descended from a god or giant specifically named Khaldis the Mighty on an inscription of Argistis near Van. The Chaldeans of Nebuchadnezzar’s time were Chaldee by name and practices only, normal people being nothing in stature and prestige compared to their Khaldi forebears.
Before Abram’s journey to Egypt from Mesopotamia Nimrod was determined to kill him because of an earlier dream that Abram had back in Chaldea. God told Abram to go to the land of Canaan, out of the reach of injury from Nimrod. A unique parallel arises in the biblical and Jasher texts concerning Nimrod and Abram. The Bible states that Nimrod was a might hunter before the Lord (Genesis 10:9) and in the informative and ancient Book of Jasher mentioned in the Bible we discover that And Nimrod King of Babel, the same was Amraphel, also frequently went with his mighty men to hunt. Mighty men is here gibborim also. Nimrod may have hunted more than just animals.

The patriarch Jacob was given a new name, Israel, which his descendants adopted as the name for their nation. Though they were ultimately the direct descendants of a Chaldean, Abraham, a sage of immense wisdom who had studied in the house of Noah long after the Deluge, the nation of Israel had its beginning in the land of Egypt.
From the careful preservation of very old traditions antedating even Abraham and stretching back to the pre-flood world, the Israelites maintained a deeply rooted belief in a future paradise world, an enormous and holy city of God represented in the sacred writings of their forefathers as a great mountain wherein the eternal righteous will dwell when the heavens and earth are renewed by divine fire. This majestic mountain city will be the Capitol of Creation containing the Temple of the Living God and within its walls would be found the Tree of Life and rivers of living water. It was simply referred to in Hebrew lore and Scripture as mount Zion.
When the Israelite families in their infancy in the 17th century BC suffered through the famine in Canaan they found refuge and food in Egypt. They settled in Goshen near Memphis, a region located around and to the north of the Great Pyramid site. The monument had been erected by their Sethite ancestors and the site was already considered as holy. In the Exodus the Israelites quite naturally could not take mount Zion with them so they transplanted the ideal and for this reason we discover a most unremarkable mountain group as being called Zion in Scripture.
