  • Is The Coleman Sector 550 from Tractor Supply The Best Side By Side for the money? Is Hisun any good? We have had this side by side for over a year and have worked it HARD! UTV's are made to work but what we put this thing through is down right abuse! We picked it up from Tractor Supply and have worked this Hisun Coleman Massimo RK Performance whatever you call it machine since day one. In this review, we go through a day in the life of a side by side on our farm doing chores and have some fun along the way.

      💯 agree. If you do a pre delivery inspection, change the fluids early and grease it…should be a solid rig for a while. Glad to hear you are having a good experience. Thanks for watching!

    I have had my Outfitter 550 since July 0f 2021 and have found it very acceptable. The ride is outstanding, I plan to maintain it and use it for years and I am more than satisfied for the price I paid. It is loud and that is my only complaint. I wear hearing protection if I will be driving above 20 mph. I use it to broadcast fertilizer and for broadcasting seed for wildlife food plots. I also have a sprayer unit I mount in the box and it handles all these jobs very well. It is a beast for climbing and plowing through mud and snow! Plenty of power. I just discovered your video and appreciated watching and your comments.

      Thanks for watching John! We have really enjoyed this machine and have beat the heck out of it. Look it over really good to check the prep, use quality fuel and fluids and seafoam with non ethanol gas makes a bug difference. This machine calls for a high octane but we can only get 87. And octane booster helps every now and then. But really, just enjoy it. It’s built well. Good luck!

    Great review of your Side By Side. It was amazing how it plowed through the brush that seemed pretty high and thick. With running through such tall brush hope you don't run into anything not expected to be there. My brother got a nice deal on a Polaris that a buyer returned to the dealer because they wanted something bigger. The dealer didn't want to hang on to it and sold it at a great price.

    Our tsc didn't have any 550 Colman's so went to home Depot and got there hison vector 500 . The vector comes with everything the Colman but it it doesn't have a inside mirror. Ours is a 2021 and I had to put a new injector in. But it does like 93 octane gas. Have 550 miles on it and still runs great. It is not a speed demon but we didn't get it for speed. We use it for trail riding and hunting.

    Have been able to use one of these machines for the past few years. Agree with all you have said. Seafoam made a huge difference as well as quality gas for overall performance. This thing has been a beast when it comes to hauling. We are constantly over loading with extra bags of feed etc and it just keeps on trucking. Winch is a great add on and the fact it comes with a standard sized hitch receiver is a plus! If you are looking for a machine to use as a TOOL on your lease or farm this is a great option. May not want to drive it to church on Sundays, you can use Polaris for that 😀

      @@JoeTheFarmer not sure if I’d buy one but I was not aware of them when I was looking at these vehicles. I was set on a Kubota RTV and was searching online for them. That is how I came across a Club Car Carryall 295 as it has a Kubota engine. We are happy with our Club Car 295. It’s a 2007 model so is getting on a bit. However parts are available for it, though they are expensive, and it’s a fairly simple machine with nothing hidden & easy access. The little diesel engine is a gem, fairly quiet, quite powerful with a bit of low down grunt & very economical, using hardly any fuel after driven regularly. It won’t win any races but it’s great for getting around & carrying stuff.

Oh, and at some point you will think it’s broken…but then realize that the seatbelt isn’t latched and the safety feature puts it in limp mode. Other than that; it’s a great good looking machine. It may not last as long as a Honda or Kawasaki (prob not) but this machine has been great and as long as we maintain it I can’t see why not. Parts can be a challenge but in another comment looks like other machines parts can be used. It’s been a bull man. Is what it is; a tough value machine. Bed is rated for 500lbs, I “may” have exceeded that. Lol. Winch is strong, suspension is great, no real complaints man. It is push button 4wd. So, for the money it’s a winner. Hey! Thanks for watching. The fuel usage is really just a non issue. I use it around the farm a ton and rarely fill the gas. I think the fuse relay box is a great start. These machines can have some pretty cheap wiring (all of them do) so also could be a bad connection in the electrical system. I am by no means a mechanic man, just know some of the plastic quick connections can be suspect on newer machines. Safety switches and tier 4 causes a whole lot of headaches. If it’s any consolation, once this works out I think you will enjoy the machine. They are tough and handle great. I know that doesn’t help the frustration, but hopefully it gets resolved quickly for you

    This has me interested, but its so much more expensive than the kawasaki Mule, I'm worried about parts and supplies. Have you had to replace any bushings, bearings, etc? If so, were you able to find them anywhere? These are about 11,500 now and the Mule is $8700 new at the dealer for the 4x4 (albeit without all the accessories!). I know the kawasaki parts are easy to get though, but its ugly and boring, and they nickel and dime you for accessories, so fully outfitted the cost is about the same... but I can't find a great source for Hisun replacement parts.

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Brooks, great question. I have not had to replace parts and have found a few places that have them online…but you are right about the mule. Tried and true…but pretty boring. The mule we have is the 4010 trans 4x4 and it’s a great machine. Will prob outlive the hisun. But the hisun ride is FAR superior and the accessories are nice. If this will be your only machine and you will have it for 10+ years…get the mule. If you want something to rip around on, beat on and have the accessories day one the hisun is a good value. It has been a great machine for us. $8,700 its a no brainer. 11,500 it’s worth looking around. It’s gone up almost $3k since I made the video and they seem to be selling like hot cakes. Like all machines, service them and they should treat you well.
      Btw, I will have a video out soon where we full on abuse the Coleman. Kept on ticking, didn’t miss a beat. It’s a great tool.

    Good luck with this year deer hunting, the more cameras posted the better chance you have seeing deer before your neighbor kills them .

    What is the top speed for the 550 coleman?

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure but I would think 40-45mph. It’s way faster than our Kawasaki Mule

      @@JoeTheFarmer thanks for your reply. I googled it and yes, it says 45 mph. Guess I should have googled it before I asked. Forget sometimes that answers are at our fingertips through the power of the internet. Lol.
      Appreciate ya!!!

      No problem buddy!!! I have read the user manual but I just don’t trust myself! Lol. The speed is good but the suspension is great. Our Kawasaki Mule bounces me all over the place but the Coleman eats up the terrain like a much more expensive machine. I don’t pretend that it’s a high end Polaris; but for the price you get a whole lot of machine and this sucker is super durable! Appreciate you watching!

      @@JoeTheFarmer we have an older Polaris Ranger. It's an 06 700 XP. Runs pretty well but it is older. My wife and I use it for joy riding the county roads here in Indiana. The state allows you to purchase a road sticker that let's us ride pretty much all roads except highways. We can cross over them but not ride directly on them. So ours doesn't see much abuse at all. We looked at the Colemans at our local TSC but I was scared I'd end up with an expensive paper weight. Lol.
      I opted to save money by buying the older model Ranger.
      If yours has held up with the workload you've used it for, I'd say it would last us a good long time. I purchased street tires for ours because the pavement was killing the mud tires that were on it. Also helped make a smoother ride and less road noise.
      I seen where Hisun makes a 750, and a 1000. The 1000 says a top speed of 60 mph. That's kicking it in a side by side. It would be rare for me and the wife to go that fast even if we could. We're old people. Lol.
      Anyway, hope I haven't bored ya to tears here. I appreciate your replies. This may be a big help in the future on going with the Hisun machine. I think I'd like to go middle of the road and look at the 750.
      Take care and hope you get more years out of yours than you thought possible!!!

      Thanks Del, and not boring me at all! I started the channel to meet cool people! I have had some people reach out and say they had a bad experience; but by and large it seems like some is user error (ethanol gas, no maintenance, etc). Hisun is a cheaper value machine. It’s not a Polaris, Kawasaki or Honda and as the price reflects that. We need a machine that can get BEAT. I am shocked at how well this machine has held up. If there is a tough job we beat on the Coleman. And what’s funny is I choose to drive it over the others. Not paid to say nice things, just sharing my experience. Been happy with it and as you have seen, we work it hard! Lol.

    I like the review, but for people looking for it, you have to go to 07:25 to start it. I'd recommend talking about the product first, and then showing the 7 minutes of running around with it afterwards...
