ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: oxford-union.org/supportus

Can we not wait til this guy is dead to acknowledge how much joy and happiness he has brought to all of our lives along the years. Thanks Tom Hanks for all the laughs, tears and all the range of emotions you have made us feel! You sir are a national treasure! I want to thanks him from the bottom of my heart! I don’t have any social media so I can’t post it straight to his account so if someone can copy and paste to his Facebook or whatever other social media he uses I would be very grateful! Thanks again!

In high school, Tom wrote a great short story about a man who goes into a bar and meets a most stunning young woman who has captured every one's attention. As he sits down next to her it is revealed that the woman is his sister. Probably one of the best stories to come out of Mrs. Wyatt's creative writing class.

Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are both anti-American to their cores. The both made a bundle of money doing movies and mini-series celebrating the WW2 generation beating back tyranny, but vote and donate a lot of money to the American political party that is always growing government power over our lives. That makes them Grade A hypocrites, and to think that both their fathers served in the military to aid the Allied cause in WW2.

I'm an artist and walking away from my paintings often does help with the next step of the painting. I guess its a great practice for all artist types to do that. I guess I can see it as getting tunnel vision, which you do not want to do, in any art form.

I am a Musician and exactly what you and Tom said, it is neccesary to walk away from the project and return a bit later, in my case you develop "Ear fatigue", where basically many things just sound bad, but upon return you can pick out the unwanted bits and keep going. Great observation...thanks. Tom Hanks a living legend, so natural and talented!!

Very sorry, doesn't mean a thing really. Foreigners may live in a country and understand various dialects because they've been exposed to them frequently. The Sound Track She Mentioned Is Not The Movie Musical 🎶 Score
    and Thanks To
    Tom
    He Explains The Difference
The Movie Score Is The Orchestral Musical Arrangement Behind a Scene 🎬
The Soundtrack Can Be a Song By a Band or
    Artist
If in a Scene 🎬 The Star is Tip Toeing To Be Quiet
The Movie Musical 🎶 Orchestral Score
My Have The String Section Playing What is Called Pizzicato Or Plucking The Strings of a Violin
Now Lets Not Discount The Arrangement is in a Time Signature and The Arranger Is Writing ✍️ The
Actors Tip Toeing To a Time Signature Which
Corresponds To The Actors Movement So
The Arranger Has a Screen In Front Of Him or Her and a Orchestra And He Is Writing ✍️ According To The Actors Movements or Tip Toe
So The Movie 🎥 Director Also Is Involved In This Process
    So As Tom Said
We Really Don’t Know Until You Take It Away And The Musical 🎶 Score Is So Important As Is
    The Soundtrack
Which is Marketed As Well….To Be Sold

The person who Tom Hanks didn’t understand, had quite a posh accent. He just did not speak clearly (his pronunciation of dangerous didn’t get any clearer even when he repeated it - mainly down to poor diction and microphone positioning at the time).
