Telemark Skiing Backcountry XCD Ski Touring Voile Scarpa Altai Kom Ski

Telemark skiing on the last of this season's marginal snow. I like to call this XCD skiing, or Cross-Country Downhill, as I ski out my back door on rolling terrain, with flats, uphills and downhills.
The Altai Kom skis have traction fish scale bases that allow for great touring and easy climbing. Boots are the Garmont/Scott Excursions (I wish they would bring them back!) and I also use Scarpa T4 boots, as these are the lightest plastic telemark boots available. Bindings are the Voile Hardwire binding (original, non-3-pin). I think this set-up is unmatched but I'll be curious to hear reports from the upcoming new Scarpa TX-Pro with Voile TTS Transit or the Meidjo.
These skis are the Altai Kom which are high performance touring skis (with a fish scaled base, like Voile Hypervector) and are not to be confused with the Altai Hok(which are shorter and have permanently attached skin base) that are a little more snowshoe like, with maximum grip but less glide.
This video was captured on one of the very last days of full snow coverage in my region of the Gatineau Park in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada. The base at this point was less than 30cm so the surface was very undulating and the snow was hard and crusty, just softening up in the sun. I'm doing a lot of quick little turns to keep my speed down, as things accelerate rapidly on the transformed snow: some "cheat" semi-tele or parallel turns, and some deep speed checking survival turns too. The lines are tight as the hardwood trees are thick(and immovable!) with plenty of saplings and branches whipping at me.
It wasn't a great season for backcountry skiing here, but I got to catch up watching a lot of clips of great tele-skiing from Norway, Sweden, Finland and テレマークスキー from Japan.
