    I literally just used this plugin this morning! I've used slate for years, on my master fader. I gotta be honest. This blows it out of the water. It truly covers The entire spectrum of tape emulation. Would definitely pick this one up, If you don't already have it in your toolbox..

      That's a resounding endorsement! I too use VTM on mixbus for everything (love it), but perhaps I should give this a whirl. Cheers

    Really nice plug, and not just another saturator. The HI/LO shape is such a key feature!! ;:-) .......Wear/tape warble is rarely something I use with tape emulations......but, the way it can be used here to create a nice chorus/flange effect sounds great!
    The compression sounds SO smooth!, ok I'm sold ;:-)

    Hi David, I'm glad you like it. I was beta testing this baby intensively and I was excited by it in certain constellations and settings. Imo it's good sounding and it has a good cumulative action-effect when used on the single channels within your different groups. Try it on many channels and switch off the presence and glue...and it will studstudstud, why I'm studdering suddenly ;) Congrats Baby Audio!

      i see you around on a lot of videos and gear space posts that i follow so i can only conclude we have similar taste. how would you say this compares to other tape emulators or saturators in your toolbox?

    • @nichttuntun3364
      @nichttuntun3364 3 роки тому +2

      @@EpithetMusicTV it doesn't replace another tape emulation but it is def. a well worth addition to have. If you zero glue and presence it works great cumulative as an emulation of a well known and loved classic tape machine. Maybe it's a bit more on the modern sound side as some other emulations but that's a good thing imo and the reason why it's a great addition for the arsenal.

    Why is the Lo Shape the ‘inverse’ of the other controls? More to the LEFT? Everything else is more to the right.

    I love Baby Audio and have Spaced Out and use it all the time. But I have tried TAIP with the free trial and compared it to the FREE Chow Tape Model plugin I already had and they are not very different from one another. A very similar result was achievable with Chow Tape Model, which is free. Just saying for those who don't have the budget at all.

    • @Adam-g-uk

      @@Adam-g-uk Of course, like I said, for those with no budget right now, it can be a nice alternative. I did tweak many knobs on CHOW Tape to get a similar result, keep that in mind.
      It's ok I respect your opinion. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I should test it out more.
      Any suggestion on specific features / presets that are unique to Taip?
      Thanks

      @@mistral-unizion-music no worries bro, I literally only got it a few says ago but straight away I love the texture it gives, I prefer the sound of it to rc20, decapitator, j37, waves cassette ect, I'm really into tape emulators on my melody busses and this has a sound which I love, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it too as u think its down to preferences but I love it bro, my advice would be to try all of the above out (if they even have demo's) and see which one/ones work for you, also try fab filter satin 2, thats a brilliant saturator...

    Pretty cool, a usable and quite tweakable saturation plugin!
    Sounds NOTHING like tape, of course - if our multitrack or 2 track machines back in the day changed the sound so much, and in this way, we'd have sent them straight to the studio workshop for servicing, aligning and calibrating!
    😂
    Baby.Audio does things pretty heavy handed, and its "AI"... weeeell, it still needs a couple of years of internship in a real studio working with real tape recorders.

      Yesterday I compared Taipei against the ATS-1 and Zulu… it fared really well against the Anamod (but not when pushed to the extremes). I thought it beat the Zulu in terms of tone and tape compression, but again… clipping the Zulu sounds great… Taipei doesn’t. Really impressed with Taipei.. I think it’s pretty damn convincing.

  • @generichuman_

    I really wanted to like this plugin, but I tested it out and failed to discern anything but audible distortion when you crank it up. With plugins like Saturn 2, when you crank up the saturation, you can "feel" it before you hear it. Warmth, fur, whatever you want to call, it. There was nothing like this with TAIP. It sounded digital and sterile right up until the point where it audibly distorted. Disappointing...

    Sounds great and great Demo thanks David! I don't think it's actually an AI though, not that I wanna be the "negative nancy" here but not even the gullfoss developers write a big AI in their interface, because it just wouldn't be an accurate description of what is actually happening. Maybe I'm wrong though, but to me it seems Baby its trying to bait people to buy it because "it's AI"

    • @mixbustv

      Does AI trick people? Legit question because the thing that appeals to me the lest is exactly that lol

    • @joost3783
      @joost3783 3 роки тому

      @@mixbustv Well I didn't mean they are intentionally tricking people, I just don't believe there is actually an AI at work here, which would be an Artificial Intelligence, which really doesn't exist to be honest. I just think it's kind of snake-oily and misleading, even if it sounds great. But maybe you are exactly right and people just ignore it anyways, it depends I guess.

    • @jw8350
