Thanks 🙏 Clint great job. I met you and your son at the last Fat Tire Festival. I did John brown and all of cow bone for the first time and they were great 👍. Honestly I know it’s fun to go fast but testing your slow tech skills Is another animal all by itself. Looking forward to the next video!
Man you sure make that look easy! I keep trying to ride JB but it kicks my butt every time! Granted I'm 60 now but consider myself really good shape. Anyhoo nice riding!
Thanks Clint that was a great video as usual. I just got done with cow bone and John Brown yesterday for the first time. I definitely understand why there a favorite of many riders . They just became mine and I can’t wait to do them again!!!
Clint, thanks for the videos. Really enjoyed your review of the Spur, love my GX. What tires are you running when riding the tech trails at Santos? Do you keep the same tires on when you go to Pisgah or Dupont?
I keep the same tire combination on for Florida trails and also for riding up in the mountains. In this video I show the tires up close. I start the Spur around 2:40 ua-cam.com/video/Ym9i6MKKB5s/v-deo.html
Clint, what you didn't mention was how dangerous (unforgiving) the Santos trails are if you make a mistake and brush against one of those limestone rocks. We've got plenty of rocks in the Midwest, but they're nothing like yours in Florida.
Do you know if there's still a chance The Rock trails may be coming back? I heard it somewhere, but couldn't remember. Figured you'd know best what the real answer is.
There's a portion of it that we are allowed to open back up. But the county won't let us use a lot of the back part, even though they don't own it! It's just a matter of me getting together a group of volunteers to work out there. But I'm so busy right now. I can't even think about adding something else to my schedule.
@@ClintGibbs Man, that's ridiculous...for the most part, MTB users are excellent stewards of the land and nature preservation. Doesn't surprise me for Alachua County officials, though. Been some great trails in Florida close over the last 25 years... Razorback, K-Mart in Palm Beach, TOE in Lakeland, etc.
Hey Clint nice riding ,what bike are you using for this and the vortex trail i have a meta te 29 and is heavy i will be moving to Ocala and was thinking between a downcoutry or trail bike
The Spur. . it's the perfect bike for these kinds of trails. Still fast on the flatter, flowy trails but great in the tech. Just have to be careful of pedal strikes as with any modern trail bike. But yes, down country and trail are the way to go unless you are wanting to race cross country.
you are a machine!

Did you ride it on a fat tire bike? Think a Mutz would do ok?

Some of the best trails at Santos! Nice riding
I love those techie trails. First time I rode those I bled a lot! 😂
Good job on both trails. I have yet to make it through Ant Hill without needing to put a foot down.
Hey Clint, I think that may have been Laura Slavin (Third Degree Berms) that let you pass. She was riding Santos with Jeff Lenosky a few days earlier.
Nice! She was definitely a good rider.
I have only been to Santos once but I remember the ant hill trail and thinking 'where the heck am i again?'

great question...looks like trails in FL are more tech and need to pedal....i like it...im guessing he is riding the transition spur.
