lol wishful thinking mate, such an xbox fanboy. Don't get me wrong, One X is usually better than PS4 Pro. But not so much in this game due to bad performance
This game is just so much better on PC, these consoles are really starting to show their age, PC versions are becoming far more detailed much like they did near the last years of the PS3 and Xbox 360, of course those consoles lasted a decade, which is far longer than most generations, usually it is about 5 years between console generations. I guess we can at least count on the next PS and Xbox to use Ryzen, that will get rid of any issues with CPU bottlenecking.

The solution would be a Switch as powerful as a PS4, but with a dock that adds additional power so that it gets to the level of the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. The special dock would be optional and could be bought separately to keep the cost of the console in an acceptable margin.

Mad props for the Peter O'Hanraha-hanrahan cameo :D
Waiting for doom 3 if it have any enhancements....
lefte stali I downloaded it, not 4K but it looks like an upgrade from 360, more like the pc version
@@andybowers4096 look like 1080p or better?
@@Jdoe-eu5yw It's 60 fps on all consoles, even the switch. But the switch version does have a lot of drops in some areas and I've heard the PS4 drops frames too. That shouldn't be happening on a game this old especially on PS4.
@@TexelGuy it's a $10 game that was shadow dropped. If you think the dev put the optimization effort needed to get it to run perfectly you're an idiot.
@David P. current gen console cpu's are underpowered, the ps3 cell processor still kick ass the amd jaguar, ibm espresso and tegra x1
Super impressed with switch... still. If a switch pro ever becomes a reality it would be pretty interesting with a patch.
Wolfenstein : Full Fat Blood
I love your videos. I love more than you seem to have a great time chatting and doing them. Love you guys!
Was this reviewed with the Xbox patch that got released during the weekend?
Let's admit we all need Alex Battaglia in our life just to say Wolfenstein and Panzerhund from time to time.
I thought the Switch version was running at a better resolution than Wolf 2. Glad to see I was correct with your analysis. I'd be interested to see that in depth video Richard was talking about with the Switch version
The framerate is definitely worse than Wolf 2 though. Seems to be consistently under 30fps under any combat scene.
Honestly I would've preferred a lower resolution if it fixed those drops. Wolf 2 on ver.1.2 ran very stable and held up surprisingly well in most combat scenes.
@@VexAcer Wolf 2 took two patches to get there. In fact, most of the bigger open world areas ran absolutely terribly. Especially the New Orleans area. So, we'll see if a next patch drops to fix remaining performance issues.
It runs getter than wolfenstein 2,it's a better game period
@@VexAcer nah, youngbloods ran way better
This game is great on the switch! Big improvement over W2. The game feels so smooth on switch
Where's Van Cabbage? Claiming its 4k at a locked 60... The pro runs better than the X on all options, it even dips to the same 1440p as the pro...
I don't know if it's my 1080p 100 Hz TV showing its age but I much prefer 4K modes on the Xbox One X. Even though it's only Super Sampled I can really tell the difference. I have a FreeSync monitor so I'll see how that holds up.
Let's hope Doom Eternal's Switch port is more polished.
? But this is already better than the post patch doom and wolfenstein on switch.
Renato Ramos de Oliveira Correia I still think doom is better than both wolfensteins. That game despite its occasional drops in frame rate. Looks much more sharp and the texture res isn’t soup. The weapons look great in your hands
@@trentoinsano Doom is a way better port than wolf 2 and youngblood on switch, even after patches. It has better resolution, framerate, and just looks much better. Panic button definitely didn't give it their all in the wolfenstein ports, so I'm hoping doom eternal is equal to that at the least and an improvement at best.
@jvalex18 It is an effort problem though, the more time they would've had, the more effort they would've put in. I'm not saying they're lazy, but that they didn't put enough effort into it, and that's exactly what that means.
Holy fuck nintendo is in desperate need of switch 2.
Guys i love your videos. But it could be even better if you use some kind of De-esser on your voiceovers to soften the “s” sounds. 😊

I think you guys forgot to analyze the Portable Mode frame-rate
The game runs pretty good on the Switch, it got patched and improves a lot. Actually is a really good game and be able to play this game on the go is amazing.
Im most likley alone in this opinion but I think this game is really really fun. I love it. Its the best grinding loop In a shooter for awhile.
I am more interested in 4k visuals than fps.
In a shooting game?
teehundeart in campaign games
@@teehundeart doesn't really matter, farcry is 4k 30 and it plays just fine. I would rather have better resolution, than shooting at blurry stuff. Battlefield V looks amazing and it runs at a higher FPS.
I love that you make references to The Day Today in your videos.
Did you guys test the patched or launch version for switch?
patched version for sure. non patched version was like 19-25 fps
@@JaimeIsJaime true, but i asked because post patch the games seems way smoother than what this graph shows. Maybe its just my stupid brain.
Honestly I think they're reviewing the launch version
I believe they are using the launch version. They usually state on their videos if they are using a patch.
@@TheDonner000 They aren't reviewing anything in this video. Big difference between an analysis and a review.
We've all been waiting for this!!
25 FPS in a FPS game is like torture.
@Kool Klux Klan He said cinematic. Clearly he's a Sony guy
Where is all the Fire Emblem content I was anticipating this whole time? :(
I like how they giggle like schoolgirls everytime they said Wolfenstain with the german pronunciation.
Switch fps performance seems a little better than what's suggested in this video. Was the Switch footage taken before or after the patch?
It was taken before the patch.
@@mercenary621 How do you know this?
3:30
Nah, Wolfenstein 2 definitely held a solid 30 on Switch most of the time
After multiple patches, yes
AwkwrdW1llCmdy yeh, and that’s what he is comparing it too.
All he needed to say was RAYTRACING once or twice and he would've turned into Alex mid-video.
one x. what a beast! up to 60 fps... dips to 29. avg 40
Sorry for the off topic question, but will you guys be doing a video of the doom ports just released for modern consoles?
I got the PS4 version of doom 3which runs at a pretty locked 60fps, but the switch version appears to slow down at times and the anti-aliasing appears to be lower quality.
Also the DRM is kinda strange.
DF retro episode by any chance?
8:30 That's "some visual hit" alright!
It’s crazy that 2015 portable graphics hardware is able to run and go toe to toe with the ‘pro’ consoles in 2018 to begin with. Having this on a handheld wins this for me :)
I don't think you know what "toe to toe" means. It's blurry as hell on the Switch, missing graphical effects and runs at mid 20's.
So the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are basically the same graphics.
No, Ps4 pro is inferior, like always.
@Transistor Jump You clearly didnt watch the video then. Ps4 pro is a great 1080p machine though.
@@ejs3589 Ignoring the fact that many games run worse on the X huh?
@@Clay3613 Lmao The ones that then were patched like a week after and solved the problems? 😂
Ps4 pro is a great 1080p machine though
Man Panic Button deserve praise for bringing these games to switch players, even though it looks blurry and the resolution is bad, just being able to play games like this on the go is great for the switch. If I had to pick a console to buy it would be switch. PC gamer her btw
This is definitely better looking than wolfenstein 2 on the switch.
Would you guys stop mocking Alex, please? He is a national treasure over at DF.
No. He's the worst member of the team by far.
Switch version is really horendous it looks far worst than wolf 2 on switch
That comparison of the faces is like a ps2 game.
Any video that references Day Today is a good video.
The Switch version is sponsored by LowSpecGamer
I was waiting for this one... DON'T spoil me, I know that Switch destroys the X1X but shhuuttt !!
Switch vs Xbox one x ????
I curious to know the sales numbers of doom and wolfenstein on switch because I love both games, but Id never buy them on switch
Digital foundry can you compare 500$ pc with Xbox one x because you are always compare a 3000$ pc with 500$ xbox one x
Thats because Digital Foundry are PS fanboys
The problem is how do you spend your 500 dollars? Do you include used parts or only parts that you can buy off the shelf? I think prices and availability of components are too unreliable to make a fair comparison
@@teehundeart well to tell the truth you can buy a XB1X for $300 new so it should be a new PC with new parts for $300
@@kainthetrollreaver9270 lol these comparisons are not competitions on which hardware can run a game best for the same cost, all the consoles cost different amounts. When they do an analysis of the PC version why would they use a budget PC? People want to know how the game runs on a proper gaming PC, if you want to know how they run on a budget PC then there are plenty of videos with games running on specific rigs

Really gotta respect bethesdas support of this system. Same day launches too.
I got banned on IGN for this post, "Women didn't win WW2."

The fuck's Lady from DMC doing in that thumbnail lmao
Good thing they overclocked those jaguar cores for the x! What a blunder. They couldn't even master 1080p 60. Anyway, this game should be 1440p on the x. Aggressive scaling on new colossus helped the framerate, but those res shifts even when standing still in the homebase area were annoying AF
Looks and runs much better on Xbox One X.
Too blurry on ps4 pro.

Dude have you actually watched the video ? X is under performing badly .
lol wishful thinking mate, such an xbox fanboy. Don't get me wrong, One X is usually better than PS4 Pro. But not so much in this game due to bad performance
Hope we get a video for fire emblem three houses soon, I’m curious how framerate and resolution hold up. Especially compared to the 3ds games.
This game is just so much better on PC, these consoles are really starting to show their age, PC versions are becoming far more detailed much like they did near the last years of the PS3 and Xbox 360, of course those consoles lasted a decade, which is far longer than most generations, usually it is about 5 years between console generations.
Once PS5 and the next Xbox are out, they'll be releasing updated versions of a lot of games made near the end of these consoles life.
You compare a pc to $500 console? Hhhhahhhhhh

I mean an RX 580 can push 1440p medium settings (same as X) at 80+fps.....
You can build a PC around that GPU for like 500-600$
They showed it in their little discussion video they did on the game together.
One of them was using an RX 580. Unlocked his frame rate and got 80+
@@nighttimestalker I actually run a RX 580, great card, but time to upgrade to a 5700XT imo, the 580 still chews through most games at 1440p though, it just goes to show how much these consoles are showing their age, the fact they use old AMD Jaguar CPUs is no doubt a huge factor in the inability to run games at 60 fps on these consoles.
I guess we can at least count on the next PS and Xbox to use Ryzen, that will get rid of any issues with CPU bottlenecking.
That's why I have a PC. I mean...it's nice to play such games on the go, but not if the experience sacrifice so much.
I could see it coming out with a Patch like all games but you can't compare Xbox one X to Nintendo Switch switch it's apples to Oranges
Uh yea , comparing them shows you what sacrifices you making if you buy it for switch and if that's worth it to you , don't be butthurt
@@VaunShiz if you think that then you need to be sent to the Mental health Ward
how do the important consoles compete? the switch is an interesting oddity but less relevant for many gamers. Which enhanced console should i consider this title on?
x. done.
Although I own a Pro and not an X you should get it on the XB1X it's the best console for 3rd party games graphically and performance wise
Those "rpg" mechanics are outrageous, and calling that crap RPG makes no sense either, it's nothing like a "ROLE PLAYING GAME", this is just the generic ass gameplay overlay uninspired devs put on games that simply don't work with them
"Peter! You've lost the news!"
:)
Dont really need 60 fps on a singleplayer game.
Yes I do. The inconsistency is annoying as fuck
Glad to have a powerful PC
The suite textures on the switch look like sludge.
looks more like a snake skin than a metallic chain armor.
Christ I’m desperate for a Switch Pro. If they could get it to Xbox One S level I’d be happy, at base PS4 I’d happily pay over a 1,000.
I’d wager that PS4 Pro level performance just isn’t currently attainable in a handheld regardless of price without having a 10 minute batter life
The solution would be a Switch as powerful as a PS4, but with a dock that adds additional power so that it gets to the level of the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. The special dock would be optional and could be bought separately to keep the cost of the console in an acceptable margin.
Luis Muñoz That’s actually an awesome idea, sort of like how eGPUs work for laptops but moulded to a dock.
@@polzol2 can you do that through usb c though?
That would be nice yall, but there is more to it then 'what we want'.
If they could they would.
@@toddbot7545 Yes, Razer actually released a kind of box to connect a desktop PC graphics card to a laptop. You just put your card into the box, connect it through USB type c with a laptop and it works perfectly fine. The USB is obviously a faster version than the one from the current Switch, but being type c makes it just as suitable for a future version of the console.
