well, these songs are composed by the best composers that Europe had to offer for last several hundred years. and only the best ones among them are still being performed. so, you could say it is survivorship bias .
Oh, so beautiful!!! The descant was written to explode in joy and majesty. Achieved! These boy sopranos' voices absolutely ring out! Thank you for this.
Literally like a refreshing drink for me to hear this. Finally I hear the sound of Christmas. To me this is what Christmas sounds like. No wonder I love Christmas, really the most musical holiday of them all. And such great music.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 27), I played this as the opening hymn. It is #269 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
And through all His wondrous childhood He would honour and obey Love and watch the lowly Maiden In whose gentle arms He lay Christian children all must be Mild, obedient, good as He.
Shane Powell, yes, you are right. That is the lyric to the 3rd verse in this wonderful production. Found it on the web. God bless you for posting it. Thanks.
@mahvachcheidani Dear macvachdhdhdhi, That is the big problem with the world full of people; that they are not able to use their imagination. . Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention during this delightful interlude of music, perhaps your doing so might improve the world a bit. Cheers. from, del-boy.
Love christmas music , it makes me relaxed and makes me feel at peace. Great post :D !. can someone please explain to me why people fearsly defend themselfs that they are Christian , but at same time don't worship, celebrate Jesus, understand or try to understand the bible. i write this because i'm annoyed at those using the name of Christ as a cover for ignorance ! RANT OVER , THE END.
It's just that they are taught to pronounce everly consonant clearly, and southern English people don't usually pronounce the letter R like that, so it sounds so obvious. This boy probably usually pronounces R very much like W, and has found it quite difficult to do.
They're do talented! But am I the only one who feels like I can't appreciate the beautiful lyrics because it just sounds like"lala laaaa uhuuh laaala" but in a nice way.
@DerUfo It's definitely sad for something that, as you say, is inspiring. But can't the same issue be said for europe? Wasn't it there that the castration issue was founded?
They are not Catholics. This is a cathedral in the Church of England, the Protestant church "established by law" in England. You probably use their translation of the Bible , commissioned by James I , a protestant king.
@LadyVader33 Well the issue is many fold, but here goes. In days of old the nuts of young lad where removed so that their singing was not impeded by puberty. Then there is this thing about gay catholic priest violating the young mens posterior components. So that has cause this avoidance issue. Which truly is too bad for something that itself is truly inspiring.
Yes, castration for musical purposes happened in Rome, but not in England and not in any protestant church that I know of. This is a protestant cathedral in England. As for paedophilia, there is a lot of it about in many walks of life, and girls suffer from it at least as much as boys.
As a Buddhist I must say how beautiful this sounds. Merry Christmas and peace to all on earth.
UFOIST hindu here haha and yeah
You must be baptised and become a Christian too, because Jesus loves you and died on the Cross to save you.
@@flaminmongrel6955 Be baptised and join us to love Jesus Christ who loves you.

They are trebles, not sopranos.
His voice is so high and pure! This is such a wonderful version of the song...I can't wait for Christmas!
One of my favorite carols.---Thank you!
It's what passes for humour amongst the youth of today! Cracking voice and good enunciation, no pun intended!

Dear macvachdhdhdhi,

@GoshGus
...How nice for you.....

Those ruffles though
Did you hear the ring in "Christ" in the solo at the beginning

He rolled the R beautifully.

Wow
Oh! But please whitch is yours? Could it be better than this...?
FIVE DAYS TO GO!!!!!
@DerUfo It's definitely sad for something that, as you say, is inspiring.

How cute is the boy's face at 1:27?...
Does anyone have the lyric to the 3rd verse? The 1st, 2nd and 4th match what I have, but the 3rd is different, and I can't make out the words, tks.
Hey, did you find this choir singing "O Come" somewhere? I've been looking all over youtube and can't find it - where is it? Who posts it?
I thought a boy was supposed to do it? x
When was this recorded?
From 0:38 "christ"
For that matter, I've never even heard of that stereotype. Where did you get it?
I have sung with the Choralen, part of the Sacramentskoor (Breda) at St. Paul's!
See a video: watch?v=iuq_ot_SFrM&feature=related
Sure is a nice song though hey!!
what do you mean for "the ring"? my english is not good
...um, that IS a boy, lol!! :D
What year is this from looks like a 1998 one
A-Plus Computer Services I saw that omg he's so cute .
Wait a minute, did you mean to say Catholic? The Catholics don't have any problem with boy's choirs.
@LadyVader33 the chiors are great, it's the katholic system that messed things up
They are not Catholics. This is a cathedral in the Church of England, the Protestant church "established by law" in England. You probably use their translation of the Bible , commissioned by James I , a protestant king.
In America only one thing that is not taboo for boys, and that's some form of competitive sports, to train them in the ways of war.
@LadyVader33

pause at 0:12 !! lol
@opium25 well then dont celebrate CHRISTmas.
What is America's problem? What's the taboo against boys' choirs?
I THINK thats a male singing haha!
