My family and I had the pleasure of meeting you last week at Hollywood studios. My kids said how cool it would be to run into Michael Kay and we walked directly into you that crowed day , my kids were so excited!!! A little Disney magic.
I love how real and how honest you are with your experience. That human side of you is what makes me come back to the channel day after day. I’m so happy for you and its fun living vicariously through your experiences. Keep it going!!!
With the weight gain and wanting to trim some off; how about reviewing some of the more healthy eating options Disney has to offer? They recently expanded their plant based offerings in all menus and even include now a green leaf icon on the new plant based menu items; there's lots of other foods you can use to get protein. Of course I'm not telling anyone they need to go full vegan; its just about moderation that's all. Perhaps you'll even start enjoying those sweet treats even more by only having them on occasion. Maybe lol :)
I love that you still get excited when visiting the Disney parks...your videos are still amazing and you seem happier maybe because you can be there as often as you like, everyone gains weight Disney it not, to each their own...I get so excited to see your video notifications...Well done Michael well done...
Love the documentary style of your videos. Different from the usual strolling through the parks and POV video style. Not to be misunderstood, I do like those types of videos of the parks when done exceptionally good. Your way of presenting is refreshing. Keep up the great work.
I really think that being recognized as Disney media and being invited to the media events really helped enhance and preserve the magic. It’s such an honor and a great way to get to experience the magic not only first but without the insane crowds and wait times. Disney is really teetering on being less magical because the overwhelming crowds and wait times are not magical and very stressful to those on vacation trying to squeeze in every attraction they can. I hope they expand virtual cues and hopefully new attractions will spread out the crowds.
From watching your videos since the move, I do not see you EVER losing the magic, it just developed into new ways to appreciate the magic. Like taking time to just sit and soak it in... That is a luxury that vacationers dont have.
This is my favorite Vlog that you have ever done. Also, I did the same thing, I gained 60 lbs in 3 years. I have gotten 50 off, 10 more to go 😊 you caught it early
I love hearing about the 6 mo update michael. I am so happy for you and all you have achieved. I thank you all the time it somehow doesnt seen to be enough. You are such a wonderful person. We all appreciate all you do to bring us all the magic.💖💖💖
I cannot believe it has been 6 months! I am happy to know that you have learned different ways to enjoy the magic, and I look forward to years of enjoying the magical journey with you. Thank you Michael for sharing your life with us❤
Maybe you could plan one day per week or month of fast passes (made 3 months in advance so that you get the good rides). Promise yourself you’ll stick to the plan as if you’re on vacation. Just a suggestion :)
So appreciate your vulnerability in these types of videos :) It is really cool to see someone like yourself honestly process your decisions and goals in front of all of us. Oddly enough, I am trying to lose 30lbs right now, too! So wishing you the very best of luck!! Hopefully we can both meet our goal
As you were saying you miss the rides, I was thinking you should make yourself some Fastpasses 30 days from now and take yourself on a staycation. And maybe do that once a month or so - I bet you’d love it!
I've been here for 7 months and still haven't gotten tired of the magic. I love being able to do what I want in the parks and not feel rushed. I also would love if you do a series on your weight loss (seeing that in another comment). I think that would be a great way to stick to your plan too! Have you guys ever thought of going to Wild Florida? I've heard it's great fun and is on my visit list, but Disney is a vortex. It's hard to escape it. Great vlog! Happy 6 month Florida-versary!
We retired and moved from Philly area a year ago August. We try to go to Disney once a week. When we first would go we would buy something every time. That has stopped. Love going to Epcot having something to eat maybe do a ride and leave. We do try a few days in advance to get fast passes to make the day go smoothly. Even for as busy MK was New Years we did 5 rides in 6 hours. Going to Disney Springs is like going to the mall. For us on a Saturday night. Walk around, have something to eat. All the walking has helped not gain the weight, but we have not lost any either. Hope to run into some day at the parks.
I can’t believe it’s been 6 months! Glad you’re still enjoying it. Good luck with trimming down, cutting back on sugar, sugary drinks and processed food always works for me.
Love the update Living near Disney world is definitely a bucket list item for me I love planning trips I wish I lived closer so I could visit more than once every couple of years. Thanks for all the videos
I would love for you to really document the crowd specifically in the next couple weeks. With the kids going back to school I feel like this time, (right after the Christmas holidays) will be one of the best to go back to Disney in the future. Document say the 8th-18th. I am thinking this time frame will be my new to go to time in the coming years. Thanks.
Loved this one! Can't wait for my next solo trip in a month, I'm planning more rest stops between the rides so I can just sit and appreciate it all :) Thanks for the update.
Happy you are enjoying your time in Orlando. Disneyworld almost every day is impressive. I hope in the next few months you get to explore some of the great beach locations and all that Florida has to offer.
So happy to see you're still enjoying Disney, Michael! I sometimes fear that I'm "spoiling the magic" for myself by watching too many Disney vlogs and Disney cruise vlogs all the time even though I haven't been since I was 12, but seeing you still enjoying it makes me happy and gives me hope:) -Lena
This video made me miss being a Florida resident! I loved going to the parks all the time and am like you and will never ever get tired of Disney! I’m so glad moving has worked out for you and that you get to experience the magic every day ✨
Would love to hear your top 10 experiences from the first 6 months. It would probably be hard to keep it to just 10 but also helpful to look back at all the amazing things you've gotten to do already: media events, parties, attraction openings, fireworks boat rides etc.
For the shopping have you checked out the Character Warehouse. Tons of Disney merchandise at huge discounts. There are two in the area. Love the video. We are moving there next year and it helps keep us excited.
Michael, I cant believe you don´t have more subscribers. (Not that the number is that important) Just because I love your videos and how your optimism makes everything better. On the Christmas day video, you where so happy and enjoying that there where so many people enjoying MK and some people just complain. Thank you for your effort in every video. God bless you!
I truly enjoy your videos. I am in the NOVA area and hope to be able to move their in the next few years! Jealous you were able to and would love more videos about moving to the area and would love info about vlogging videos too....you know in your spare time LOL!
Would love a video on healthier eating options around Disney. When we travel down for spring break I hope to find a few options that are healthier to alternate with all the other options.
Great content as always Michael! I did notice a little weight gain on you, and was hoping that you were not going to outgrow, like a hundred medium tee shirts! LOL. You can do this! As a fellow Disney Nut, I can tell that it is totally possible to remain lean and healthy while going to the parks; I am living proof of that! I have told my wife, that if we ever make the move to Orlando, that I would just love to go to Epcot to walk around the park a few times each night for exercise. Just eat everything in moderation, get your steps in, and check out your brothers Wellness Wednesday’s vlog and you should be good to go! Mike 😊
I most definitely found this video informative, helpful, and fun! I love these updates and am so happy for you! You are so deserving of all the happiness in the world. XO
I've lived here for nine years and the pull is always strong to go to Disney! There are so many other things I still have not done (Winter Park boat tour, The Sugar Mill at Deleon Springs) and with my current job, I feel like I never have enough park time. Hoping to move across town to be closer to the magic.
It seems like a common theme between all your points is your need to be more mindful on how you approach Disney. It's different than planning a vacation and it's different than just going whenever. There's a middle ground strike and you're still trying to find that middle ground. I've every confidence you will get there.
I'm so glad that your Disney love hasn't changed. Thank you for being so open and honest about this change in your life. We are moving our family to Florida the end of June. Not near Disney, but much closer than NJ.
I couldn't agree with you more. It is the same way for me. I really enjoy going to the resorts and the parks but taking the time to experience everything and not rushing is so great! We did gain weight too but as you said you will learn how to not eat all the goodies all the time. Disney has so many new things and it is always changing it never gets old. I love it so much!
will you be doing a video series on documenting your weight loss? I'm sure people can use some motivation and seeing you make progress on your new year's resolution will inspire others to do so as well! Great content! New subscriber here!
Totally understand how you feel about eating like vacay and getting back to a change. I'm going to be doing the same thing! Can you start reviewing some of the healthier options on the park and d.springs menu's!? I would love that! Going to be there in March, hope to see you and Dave around!! You got this Mike!
Colombia Harbour house has a salmon fillet with broccoli, that’s the type of ‘protein’ option you should aim for, the bowls at satulli canteen are also a good option, and sushi is probably ok as well.Definitely try more of the vegan options, though remember that doesn’t always mean less calories.Try and reduce the bread, sugar loaded sauces from your main meals, and increase the vegetables and whole foods,Most of the food reviewers only take a bite of the food they buy, which is wasteful, but it’s probably how they manage their weight. Thanks for your vlogs 😊
Start a daily exercise program. Join the Disney walk/runs; 5K, half and full marathons. Bored, tired of Disney? Inconceivable. You’re the only vlogger I’ve watched who thinks enjoying Disney is about you.
You’re doing great Michael! Adjusting to change is hard, even changes you’re happy with like moving to Orlando. Eating habits, a new job, a new apartment....it’s a lot! The weight will come off. I find when I’m at Disney, I want to eat EVERYTHING because I’m not always there. That has only changed for you 6 months ago! Maybe try a mindset of “this food isn’t going anywhere, I can ways come back to it” and that helps me when I’m trying moderate my intake of calories.
Michael we love you!, and we are sorry that Florida hasn't being kind to your weight or yout skin, get Rashguards for the waterparks and a more gentle sunblock for your face *go to Sephora or Macys to get one for sensitive skin*
Excellent video! Enjoyed your point of view! Does your job give you the freedom to go to the parks as often as you do. Also will you be visiting SeaWorld or gator land? I enjoy very much that you have finally embraced Universal and Volcano Bay! Two of my favorite places besides Disney!
I've loved the last 6 months living with you in Florida. It's paradise! So is my temporary housing accommodation in Australia but I hope to run into you at epcot during my 30th this year :)
Random question... do annual pass holders have parking privileges closer to the entrances of the parks? Because after a long day at a park, waking far into the parking lot can be a pain. What about at the resorts?
You keep saying that you need to change. Because the old you was high intensity at the parks, but now as a local you’re more mellow. I enjoy your mellow videos more. I like that now every video you post is a new experience. I like the diversity way more.
Maybe tell yourself you have to ride at least one ride every time you go to the parks. I feel like that will keep you from taking living so close for granted. Just an idea! Can't wait to see your experiences in the next 6 months!
When I did the Disney College Program I was there for 5 months and lived off of Cheetos Puffs, Uncrustables, Twizzlers, grape soda, and Disney chicken nuggets and fries, along with other various Disney quick service options. Somehow with my food choices I didn't gain weight; my husband (boyfriend at the time) thought I may have lost some weight when he visited me halfway through my program. I'd like to imagine it was all the walking around the parks because I went to the parks practically every night after work. I loved going every chance I could and still go to WDW yearly but never for as long as I'd want to. I don't imagine ever losing the magic. Thanks for your thoughts!
Good luck with your weight loss. It will be hard, but it is totally within your reach! Make sure to take care of yourself in all aspects, though. It’s always good to have a professional to share your worries with and find solutions for your anxiety.
Michael my husband and I love watching your channel. We will be at Disney next weekend and wanted to get you something. Do you still wear a medium size shirt or a large now?
I think it’s fine that you don’t get on rides every time you visit the parks. You have more time there so you can take a day or two to just enjoy the entertainment and scenery. I travel from MD and don’t feel pressure to get on many rides. You are doing ok. Also, I’m sure people would love to see your weight management plan while in the parks.
You walk so much in the parks, i feel like the calories should balance out. Walk 100 miles at the parks, eat a 100 different things. Lol! I'm in the same boat too. I'm trying to see it as instead of eating all of the sweet stuff, which I love sooooo much, I'm trying to find the healthier options whether it be vegan or vegetarian and I'm surprised that there are alot of options! Not any many options you get for mobile orders or quick service, which I hope they change, but it's there. I look forward for your journey. You got this!
I would love to know more about day to day life in the Orlando away from the theme parks.
My family and I had the pleasure of meeting you last week at Hollywood studios. My kids said how cool it would be to run into Michael Kay and we walked directly into you that crowed day , my kids were so excited!!! A little Disney magic.

Tom Morris I was thinking of the healthy food reviews too! That would be great.
Great idea!

You should start running on the running trails at the resorts. That way you will still be at Disney and working out
So happy for you Michael! Thank you for being you and always staying true to yourself. Keep being awesome! ❤️
I love hearing about the 6 mo update michael. I am so happy for you and all you have achieved. I thank you all the time it somehow doesnt seen to be enough. You are such a wonderful person. We all appreciate all you do to bring us all the magic.💖💖💖

Congrats on 6 months! I look forward to following your progress with finding healthier options inside the Disney bubble.

Dave Kay you too!!🤣😂
I did 11 years aka my whole life

You should do a runDisney event! You would document it so well. If you do a run I'll sign up too!
Hahaha I will on the future
When Disney is in your blood, you never lose the Magic!
One of your very best videos, I loved that. So honest and real.
You're living the dream! I'm happy you took the chance to follow your desire for more Disney.

I'll be even happier for you now then I was 6 months ago for all the new adventures and things you will see the opening of and sharing with us!!
Love the update
Living near Disney world is definitely a bucket list item for me
I love planning trips
I wish I lived closer so I could visit more than once every couple of years.
Thanks for all the videos
Awesome video Michael! Makes me want to move closer to the Magic.

middle of november is a good time.
I would say October would be a good time to go. My girl and I go to Disney every month and October was definitely the lightest month we seen.
Loved this one! Can't wait for my next solo trip in a month, I'm planning more rest stops between the rides so I can just sit and appreciate it all :) Thanks for the update.

I gained 20lbs when I got my annual pass. Think I tried every cupcake! The weight will come off! Don't stress about it!
So jealous! Our move can’t come soon enough. We are moving down by July. We are so excited.

Congrats :) Florida is awesome! Time to start exploring other parts of Florida :)
Boy, six months sure went by fast!
Start a daily exercise program. Join the Disney walk/runs; 5K, half and full marathons. Bored, tired of Disney? Inconceivable. You’re the only vlogger I’ve watched who thinks enjoying Disney is about you.
Brilliant Michael love your views on everything

You should explore other parts of the state! Florida has lots to offer
Great vid! Congrats for your move. What do you do for a living. Vlogging?
Excellent video! Enjoyed your point of view! Does your job give you the freedom to go to the parks as often as you do. Also will you be visiting SeaWorld or gator land? I enjoy very much that you have finally embraced Universal and Volcano Bay! Two of my favorite places besides Disney!
Watching this again. 😀🙏🏻❤️
I've loved the last 6 months living with you in Florida. It's paradise! So is my temporary housing accommodation in Australia but I hope to run into you at epcot during my 30th this year :)
SO happy for you! Can't believe it has been 6 months
I moved to Anaheim about a year ago and I totally understand what your going through.
Hi Michael wow i can’t believe it has been 6 months you move to Orlando
Do you need a Disney Ticket just to visit the resorts? Walk the property etc. Glad your enjoying your move.
Thank you Michael for being there. I am here at FL . So i hope to see you.🙂 thank you for all of your magical camera shots.😊
Great vlog. The best next 6 months for more Magical Adventures.
That was so sweet when you were watching Happily Ever After from the Poly 🏝🎆
Congrats 6 months! WTG Michael and Dave! God Bless you and your family. Doesn't seem that long to me either. 😀🙏🏻❤️😍👍😎🌴🤔😘
Great video Michael!!
Random question... do annual pass holders have parking privileges closer to the entrances of the parks? Because after a long day at a park, waking far into the parking lot can be a pain. What about at the resorts?
Loved the vlog and a nice surprise with the intro!
It would be cool to see more cruise videos.
I’m so happy for you! And you’re chilling at my favorite happy spot! 😍😍😍
Your honesty was truly eye opening and enlightening thank you for sharing
I never thought about it, but I’m sure it is really hard to not try and buy a the new items. I always love the new merchandise.
Do you usually park at the resorts when you’re not staying there or at Disney Springs?
You keep saying that you need to change. Because the old you was high intensity at the parks, but now as a local you’re more mellow. I enjoy your mellow videos more. I like that now every video you post is a new experience. I like the diversity way more.
Do you look for fast passes once you are already in the park? That may help with riding more :).
I love to people watch....I have visions of sitting on one of the rocking chairs on Tom Sawyer Island overlooking Big Thunder Mt. Retirement goals!!
Maybe tell yourself you have to ride at least one ride every time you go to the parks. I feel like that will keep you from taking living so close for granted. Just an idea! Can't wait to see your experiences in the next 6 months!
We are moving to Orlando. Can you do a video highlighting the different communities in the area???
I'm glad your move is a success for you. As far as weight gain, join the pack for body refurbishment. Enjoy and take care.
Mike you are now starting to read and ride the winds of Disney now.
Born and raised in Florida and now going to UCF, so glad you love it here
Good luck with your weight loss. It will be hard, but it is totally within your reach! Make sure to take care of yourself in all aspects, though. It’s always good to have a professional to share your worries with and find solutions for your anxiety.
Sorry about your computer crashing. I hope you are able to salvage what you need and get a new one as well.
Michael my husband and I love watching your channel. We will be at Disney next weekend and wanted to get you something. Do you still wear a medium size shirt or a large now?
Michael, is this your full time job now or are you working in Orlando area + doing this on the side?
I think it’s fine that you don’t get on rides every time you visit the parks. You have more time there so you can take a day or two to just enjoy the entertainment and scenery. I travel from MD and don’t feel pressure to get on many rides. You are doing ok. Also, I’m sure people would love to see your weight management plan while in the parks.
Love your videos!
I’ve seen a few vlogs where you have the soundtrack to happily ever after. Where did you find it. I can only find the one song.
How far is your commute to the parks???
You will totally get the weight off! Sending good vibes and love all of your videos :)
