the beautiful thing about this is after the EQ you just hear more of his voice, making it perceptually louder without actually being louder. well done!

Finally an eq tutorial using a voice somewhat similar to mine. I've been told I sound like Dennis Haysbert so it's not quite the same but close enough. Good stuff as usual Lenny.

WoW, French voice over guy here. I was thinking this morning that it would be nice if somebody would listen to what I’ve been doing for so long and make corrections on my eq’s. I’ve been hearing and mixing my voice for so long that I am sure I am not good at all at equalizing it. Will follow your videos, they are super interesting. Bravo!

You added some warmth and slight bass I think. Much better.

I have been doing mine to ear and I tend to add maybe too much higher frequencies back in 🤔

I think you did a great job opening it up. His room obviously isn't perfect so it's a case of doing the best you can. My only feeling, and I've noticed it with a couple of your other videos, is that your low end boost is maybe a taaaad much for my ear, gives me that 'FM radio in another room' womma womma feeling, which is impressive but I imagine some engineers would tame it straight away if you submitted that.

Hi Dobbatron. I'm glad you pointed that out. You are absolutely correct, but I make it sound that way for a good reason. I start by processing each voice to have a full, bold, huge attention grabbing sound. The bigger, the better! Here's why. The voice over game has changed. Most voice over job opportunities are posted to websites these days. Projects are posted, and lots of voice over artists compete for the job. Additionally, jobs are often submitted to specific voice over artists based on their demos. So, as a voice over artist, you are often competing against hundreds of other voices. If your audition (or demo) doesn't standout, sound polished (processed) and outshine the competition, you won't get the job. So I want you to be noticed and with my custom sound, you will sound bigger, better, and definitely impressive.
But, there's more... With each custom processing setup that I do, my clients have complete creative control to revise the sound. I also offer 3 flavors of the preset, "tone only," "light processing," and "aggressive processing" versions. This way you can use a setting to eliminate the competition on the audition (processed), and a professional sound to submit to a producer when they have the gig (tone only or light processing). I also additionally offer to my clients the option to revise the sound after they live with it for a while. My goal is for my clients to be "in love" with their sound. Voice over artists who use my custom processing win more auditions and get more work! 👍
Will you send me your voice? It's free to hear what your voice would sound like. Thanks for watching and following along!!!

@@HeyLennyB thanks for taking the time to clarify that Lenny, v glad to hear it, makes total sense and should give people confidence you know your stuff. I wasn't trying to be an internet know-it-all, I love this stuff and it's important to me too.
I do similar with my own processing as it is now, def not something I would submit to a client as finished but it's good to stand out coming out of someone's laptop speakers.
All that said though I will send you something as I'm fascinated to hear what you can do. Fully unprocessed is best right?
Oh and thank you very much for the gracious offer!

@dobbatron, there are a lot of "internet know-it-all" types out there. I know you're not one of them :) It was a very good question. I'm constantly measuring my depth of subject content. You required more and I'm happy to explain. Yes, please send your voice! All of the instructions and details on located here: 🔗 Submit Your Voice For Custom Processing: bit.ly/Submit-Your-Voice

I have to say that I use this mic for podcasting, mainly because I had laying around doing nothing during lockdown. One thing I find, mainly because my room is not treated, it tends to pick up interior reflectance more than I would like. I use RX deverb but it often sounds a little over done and I recently switched to Sonible entropy eq and eq2. Its helping but I'd like to know what frequencies are generally associated with reflectance in a standard small, square room with just a sound blanket?

    Good
    Fundamentally
But taking too much mid & llower body bass takes the flavor /character out of it .,
