About chosing not to kill humans, it wasn't really a option. Anne Rice's vampires can go mad if they dont take human blood for a long time. Also if he lived off animal blood, he would never get strong and develop his powers. And he would always feel hungry, like when you start a new diet and for the firt few weeks you feel hungry all the time despise eating. And a big thing about Louis in the book is that he's never satisfied with his life, wasn't happy with his human life, chose to became a vampire and still was not happy. That's just how the character is.

5:48 lestat's laugh is book accurate... His laugh is described a couple of different times as like uncontrollable, loud, boisterous, manic. I think Sam Reid did an excellent job at replicating what Lestats laughter as described in the book(Tom Cruise also did attempt lestats laughter in the movie but I think Sam Reid does a better job)... He laughs in a very unhinged way... So yeah it might have been seen as a pretty disrespectful reaction... Having like THAT much laughter at Louis vunerable question... But it is also a book detail that he laughs like that ALL the time. So it wasn't like he was laughing like that because louis vulnerability was extra hilarious... it's just ...how he laughs in general. But yeah it was a little bit rude for him to laugh at Louis when Louis was feeling vulnerable. I think that's how the show was trying to make you feel.
Lestat is a lot, lol He cheats on Louis in front of him, then laughs in his face when he asks if he's enough :( After allowing Louis to have an open relationship, too, he follows and watches Louis with Jonah; he gets jealous. That alone is creepy .. then again, he's been stalking him since episode 1. I think they need marriage counseling because their communication is terrible :(

Lestat wants Louis to only have genuine feelings for HIM. Not those he has sex with outside their relationship. So yeah, it was his abandonment issues flaring up. He is ultimately fine with their relationship being open... it's the fact that he isn't the ONLY man that Louis has romantic feelings for. That's what caused the outburst. Because it was a reminder that Louis COULD leave him for someone else... if he had strong enough feelings for them.

Like, his creator left him with a pile of money and no info about being a vampire. His first love Nicky hated him after he turned him, they parted ways and he committed suicide leaving him his violin as a grim reminder And his mother, Gabrielle, preferred a different vampire lifestyle and also abandoned him Being a vampire is extremely lonely and Lestat admitted many times he needs love and companionship, so a mere thought of Louis leaving him must have been terrifying for him

If I'm not mistaken in Ann Rice's novels vampires who don't kill from time to time - go mad. It's their nature. But they can choose who to kill. Actually Lestat from books prefered to kill villains. But Louis in the end killed randomly because he felt like he can't judge who is villain and who is not.
When Antoinette asks, "Are there two beds upstairs, or one?", I have yet to see a reactor answer, "One". In episode 2, Louis is lying on his and Lestat's bed crying about almost killing his baby nephew. Grrr! Now that that's off my chest...love watching you!
