I LOVE this style of cake!! Thank you for doing a tutorial! I was just wondering... why did you use water to thin your color gel instead of alcohol? Wouldn't it make it really sticky and hard to dry?

Thanks! I've always used water with gels, I dont find it any different, and water is cheaper haha I usually use lemon extract for painting with dusts, but for gels it's water :D x

Hi can I ask about the painting of the words ..is it painted with the gel from the pot or is it diluted with water ..I've painted things like this but later the run as they dry ..thanks x

Hi please help!! I airbrushed the top and my airbrush splattered big specks over my cake can you tell me what could be wrong with it please I'm gutted as it spoilt my cake x

Aww sorry this happened Christine! Spattering is caused by multiple things. It can be caused by using powder based colour instead of water colour (sometimes the powder can clog up the needle), if using water based you are trying to force too much air/colour out at once - go a bit gentler, or you may just need to clean your gun out by unscrewing it all and running some hot water/alcohol through it x
