Mateusz is working on his deadlift, really hope he gets his win.
If he could just hit 1000lbs he would have titles by now
Lol, I doubt he will to the extent of PR's. He simply won't train or push the squat/deadlift to the point where it's viable for competition. He does however, have a disadvantaged build with a long torso and shorter arms. That will affect you just as much as not having optimal training. People like JF Caron, Mark Felix, Shaw, Thor, and even Eddie Hall were built for the deadlift (he has a 6'8" wingspan at 6'2").
@oceanbanana4341 not even. Bobby Thompson and Mitch Hooper are the top pullers now and neither got to 1000 at the last arnold.
He probably would do it with 920-930.
He's won all events in a strongman comp TWICE, took almost last place on a deadlift, and lost the comp.

In one of his latest videos, Mateusz said that he is working on his deadlift because he knows that’s is weakness. If he can get his DL up to 440kg that would be great.
So excited for this comp. I really want Mateusz to finally get the big win.

I went the last ten years but I think I’m gonna take this upcoming year off. I paid for premium seats last year but every time you went to the bathroom someone from the nosebleeds stole your seat. It’s cool that the strongman have their own area now but you can’t see the rest of the expo. There’s no easy way to leave and come back you have to wait in line each time to re-enter. Meh I’ll go to the Shaw classic instead.
I went to the Shaw Classic for the first time this year and it was amazing. Easy as could be to get into and out of, and anytime you used the bathroom nobody stole your seats. Shaw puts on a great show.
Didn't have that problem last year, we were leaving to get drinks and food and stuff between events no problem, nobody ever in the seats, and you don't have to wait in a long line either when you have VIP..

We´ll have to wait till the events are posted. Thor is back though and Rogue definetly gonna throw in the Elephant Bar deadlift, there is no way they don´t, so with that line up you have about 8pts less for Mateusz, but let´s see what happens

id love to see Graham Hicks at the Arnolds, very powerful static strong man he would have a chance to win but has never been invited, I love all your videos Vytautas and co i look forward to the next one, cheers Elisabeth
Depends on if he fit because Graham is incredible but can make sloppy mistakes. I think Arnold's would suit him as it's a slower paced comp
No way Graham would win the ASC. He's strong statically yes but he'd get stomped on certain other events. Timber frame, bag over bar, stone to shoulder, husafell carry ect.
Haven't been keeping up to date with strongman for a year now just started getting back into it last night during log session had the phone set uo started with Bigloz then onto your channel, forgot how obsessed i get with it lol think that's why I stooped follwoing for a while... Glad to be back at such an exciting time in strongman hasn't been such rivalry from Ed and Thor left now Thors back and its already mental going to be a good couple of years for strongman cant wait
Thor and Eddie were never rivals. Haftor is 12 to 2 against eddie

I’d like to see stone to shoulder, timber carry, wheel of pain, dumbbell, bag over bar, and there’ll probably be a deadlift. Mateusz can win with those events.

Interested on how Thor will show up. Obviously, he knows what it takes to win. I doubt he would show up if he did not think he could win. Can’t wait to watch it. Such a Great Lineup. I think Evan Singleton has a great chance of winning. I am biased though. He’s now my favorite American strongman lol. Mitch Hooper, though to me is the favorite.
Mitch is definitely a favorite. I doubt Thor will podium but he won't be last
Podium is basically guaranteed in form, but a win this early back? Idk. He was having trouble with 125kg log for 4.

Bobby is easily the most overrated strongman that isn't Graham Hicks.
He has a very good deadlift and log press...and the rest is mediocre to awful.
However, in the Arnold, that's 18-20 points and good enough for a 5th place finish even if he zeroes everything else.

Bobbie gets injured in basically every comp he does

Golf gave Mitchell amazing focus and confidence. He has amazing coordination. His education helps him understand his body and motion. He is very complete. He is much better than he looks, though Ive never seen him in person.
Hooper is a great strongman, no doubt about it.
Bobby is great, but not that good of a deadlifter is he competed against JF Caron, Jerry Pritchette, Licis, Janashia, Big Z,... without forgetting Brian Shaw, Thor and Eddie.
I think he is pretty good deadlifter, but not that great in some over events.
Bobby's is an incredible strongman, but unfortunately, he is made of glass in recent comps he has injured himself but what i love about him is he will keep going until he passes out like 2021 WSM on log and deadlift

They're both cool. ASC is about a "legend" Louis Cyr, and WSM is about another myth in Atlas. Both are really cool.

Why is Matteusz so weak at deadlift, yet so strong in everything else?
Why don't we judge log from the side??? Someone like hooper is able to hide so much bad technique on the log, because of the ref looking from the front.
Maybe someday they will.
If it's for a max, I agree it should be 3 judges like powerlifting. For reps, too much time would be wasted coordinating down signals

@manuol3043 he had great potential for such a young age, just pushing his body to the limits and getting injured, is it because of injuries he won't compete in strongman?
@@stuartmackay9270 he got injured in a car accident and deleted everything on his Instagran channel
I believe a while ago Nakonechny sustained very bad injuries in the car crash, will see if he can come back from that.

I guess the only way to find out is, to do just strong women's competition and see what is the viewership.
Tom is physically stronger than Mitch.But Mitch is mentally stronger than Tom.
Agreed but Tom needs to get it right because he can't seem to get together in Arnold's, but since Luke has switched trainer I think that's good for Tom because then Tom can focus on himself
Mitch has heavier numbers though. Tom is that giant man that so far is two steps behind the mountains (shaw, thor). MItch is Jouko Ahola but on gear... i mean, more gear
I'd love to see Mateusz win. He's sooo strong on other events, smoking other competitors...that damn DL though.
Tom has been historically the same for heavy reps on deadlift, has a better overhead, vehicle pulls are better, grip is marginal, better thrower, better loader, while maybe not faster, way better on stone loading, right there with Mitch on Cyr Dumbbell, better at Arm-Over-Arm, and is only beat at Super Yoke.
Arnold classic have become so boring and so bad year after year now! lighter weights less strong dudes competing.. bring back the good old days...
