I think this is a beautiful opportunity to talk about how interesting the reaction to Kevin Abstract is. He raps the EXACT same way about boys as other rappers do about girls. Yet people complain about him "throwing it in their face" and "not easing into the topic" when they'd have no issue hearing the exact same thing about a female. Just a crock of hypocrisy

You make good point on the fact of hip hop being very aggressivly male. I think that's the reason why a "gay agenda" has seeped into rap. Often times, you find hyper-aggresive male culture leading towards some form of homoerotic. I was in a frat and lived on military bases all my life. I can say from first hand experience that male dominated societies/cultures have an undercurrent of gayness to them, and it doesn't even have anything to do with sexuality.
I think it's because men, especially American men, have to repress their non-sexual love for other men so they don't get seen as a bitch by society. It's a weird way all dudes act. I think that's why when a group of men get together there are a lot more "gay" vibes, not because they're gay, but because they don't have to put on a hypermasculine facade like they do to women or the general outside world.
I'm not invalidating the actual gay/bi rappers like Frank Ocean and Cakes but, I think the fact that rap is so overly male has led to a shift in these men being so secure that they are open to letting their more "gay" seeming traits come out in their aesthetic and music.

I don't know why people worry about this stuff when there are so many more bigger problems in the world today than caring what someone else does with their life lmao. And people need to stfu with the whole "gay agenda" thing, like literally there are legit millions of songs about straight love/sex/relationships etc. so why get upset if there are few talking about something else. The song "empty" by kevin abstract is a gay song, but is also a love and tragic song, and a really good one, I'm not homosexual but I don't need to be one to understand or enjoy that song and that song can't turn me into an homosexual, and if it does that just make it a better song because it would be such a good song that forced me to revalidate my sexuality. There are a lot of black people who really believe that children seeing out and proud gays in the media or TV it could influence kids to want to be gay too. This silly notion stems from a common belief that homosexuality is a choice or a learned behavior. If a so called straight person think its that easy to become gay, they profess more about themselves than they realize. Ignorance, denial and insecurity is a seriously toxic combination.

I grew up in a very strict Christian household in Alabama, so I'm still kinda uncomfortable with homosexuality. I don't know why, and I don't see anything wrong with it, but I just am, but that doesn't make me stupid. I'm tolerant of other people's lifestyles, but some things just make me uncomfortable

I think that rap for the most part has always been very homophobic. Especially with many of the icons in hip hop and many of the old timers . I mean, look at the shit that Lord Jamar says on VladTV. He goes on there and basically says that gay people have no place in hip hop and that’s the same mentality that many rappers and much of the fan base has as well. So when a gay rapper comes along and starts a buzz around himself these rappers feel like the gay man is trying to make everyone gay. To them being gay is just the worst thing you could possibly be. They’d support a murderer and a rapist before they supported a gay rapper. Times are changing and it should be okay to be a gay rapper or a gay anything for that matter.

You people do know that women are socially allowed to wear nail polish and dresses and men aren't just because of stupid social rules, right? It's not biological, obviously. I don't see the problem in men wearing nail polish, makeup and whatever piece of clothing (as long as there are clothes) they want to wear, nail polish is just paint and dresses are just some fabric, why does it matter?
And why does lyrics talking about gay topics matter? Wtf

  • @styles2789

I listened to this whole video very clearly. I also went through alot of the comments. It's obvious the person in this video as well as many of the individuals in the comments have no understanding of the female principal or the male principal. It's not about actually being gay when it comes to the point behind the "gay agenda". I personally wouldn't call it that. The dude in this video seems to enjoy saying others are stupid as if he has some profound intellect far beyond other people.
I find that ironic because if he had any true intellectual superiority as he seems to be projecting due to him calling others stupid. He would understand that what he THINKS are so called masculine traits within hip hop are in fact the feminine principle being promoted and implemented within the so called black community to negatively affect it since its inception.
The negative aspects of the female principal are emotional reaction, irrational behavior and illogical thought. The positive aspects are compassion, empathy and nurturing. None of the positive aspects are promoted or glorified yet all the negative aspects are most definitely promoted. Disagree?? Then tell me how grown men as well as young men within the black culture kill each other based on petty shit such as someone simply being from another neighborhood? That's irrational and lacks any logic. Tell me how it's logical to objectify your own women and glorify having "side bitches" and promoting promiscuity while at the same time mocking and dubbing those who don't partake in such degenerate behavior as a "square" or "lame". That lacks any logic what so ever.
Ill keep it simple and leave it at that. So it's not necessarily about it being a gay agenda. That's used to cause confusion and deflect from the actual agenda. To say otherwise you're either purposefully being stupid. Or you lack any REAL KNOWLEDGE or understanding about life and the principals that govern this world. That or you're an agent of chaos and will say or do anything to attempt to refute the truth. You therefore are part of the agenda because you're trash and don't even know it!

Hip hop is fashion, fashion is influnce , so yeah if there is more gay artist being pushed it will have an effect. Not saying it's bad . But when gangster rap ran the scene. Everybody blamed hip hop for the violence in the world . So I disagree with you on this one . It's all programming. Take it how you want . But hip hop brings awareness , so you should ask yourself what are we being made aware of at this point.
