This thing looks like a beast, just ordered it for casual play with friends. Colors don't bother me at all, and I like the look of the ship; vaguely skull-like
+Zane Mingus I like the Mist Hunter. I think it looks like a retro sci-fi spacecraft. I'm not so much of a fan of the Hound's Tooth but I can respect those who like it, as well as this ship. Scum & Villainy is leveraging the whole "old, ugly and unfinished" look which makes sense. Some of their ships I think it works well on. This one I just find ugly.
Played a couple of games this week with a brute in the list. First ship destroyed in both, but got a couple of strong homing missles strikes in before it did. Special mention for the art/colour on the Dalan pilot card - one of my favs in the whole game.
I like your idea of a Bullseye Firing Arc on the T-65 X-Wing. I hope, probably in vain, FFG will release an expansion with all the FAQ updated cards, updated cardboard and perhaps some improvements to existing ships without the need to repurchase 'fixed' expansions. They needed to put the salvaged astromech on this ship because after the Jump Master nerf, the only ship using that upgrade was the Y-Wing. That is the only FAQ update I hope eventually gets reversed. I think it would have been easier to just make the ship cost more or make it so you either could take the crew or the astromech but not both.
I really like the bulls-eye firing mark. I really like the ship also. I hope in the future it becomes a sort of ship modification, albeit an expensive one. Or maybe a special modification that can only be applied to titles... there are ways to get it in the game for a few ships. Although it may be to strong of an ability for arc dodgers that can easily line people up.
+TheDBall73 I would love to see an X-Wing/Y-Wing Aces pack that has new ship templates for certain pilots (Wedge Antilles and Luke, maybe?) with the bullseye arc added on. It would be an elegant way to give those old pilots a nice upgrade that's thematically appropriate ("I used to bullseye womprats back home") as well as giving the T-65 a nice power bump.
I like this ship. It's not as ugly as Pat makes it sound (he's seriously beating a dead horse--I say this as a fan of his reviews). However, he's got a point about the paint job--they have cooler paint jobs on some of the ships on the cards. I don't know why they went with the ugly colors, especially when you think that scum is the one faction that would legitimately have multiple paint jobs. It's fun to fly and use the bulls eye arc.
+Jason Saphara You know, I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the pilot cards, and this holds true for a lot of the Scum &Villainy ships - there are some gorgeous paint jobs in a lot of the artwork. I imagine it's a cost decision - a lot of X-Wing ships seem to land in the "two flat colors" stable when it comes to paint. Some ships buck the trend, certainly, but it's most likely a balancing act when determining the cost to manufacture versus the cost to sell these ships.
yeah, you've got a point there. Especially when they're not being sold as a big box set. And I'm still mad that the syck that was in the CROC didn't have Genesis Red's paint scheme.
Great review. I wish I had seen it before I paid money to buy this thing. All your thoughts are correct. I've used it in games so far and it's useless. Terrible dial means getting that bullseye arc is almost impossible, and forget it on anything lower than the highest PS pilot. You are going to be barrel rolling all the time to try and get in arc, so no other actions for you unless you take PTL and then you're PS8 and stressed, which with that dial is a big problem One agility means it dies so fast you won't get a chance to use reload. And even the best pilots ability is so badly worded the community has nerfed it already. There isn't even a must have upgrade card in the box. Another scum ship to add to the "looked promising but is DOA" pile, along with the Quadjumper, Starviper (original version), Kihraxz,(original), M3a and G1a.
Given how nasty the Bullseye rules are, I wonder if there might be some potential for using the Illicit slot for a Cloaking Device? You don't see those played often for obvious reasons, but it sure does add some tricksy repositioning options, which is what you really want of this ship.
I can't believe how much hate this ship is getting. I really love it. I bought one straight away. It's got sleek wings and a massive engine. Mind you, I like the quadjumper too.
I'm pretty late to the video here, but I love this ship. I'm sure some of it comes from back in my SWG days but overall I like solid looking ships. Back in those days when I was flying as a freelance pilot I loved all of the forward facing firepower it had...This ship will always have a place in my list even if it's trash.
Always felt the ARC needed a little something extra, to work with its massive forward gun. Needs either a cannon upgrade slot or this bull's eye might also work.
When first seen the picture of this from fantasy Flight I hated the look of it I'm not denying that but seen up close at my local store and in tournaments it is actually quite a nice looking ship like a gun attached to an engine is the best way to describe it
this ship is a good example of why i decided to just collect for the models sake, a bunch of cards look great but the ship itself means nothing to me. struggling to find the entusiasm or money to complete my collection of version 1.0 I will round out my liked-ships (up to wave 8 basically) and turn it into a dominantly display-case collection. There's 2-3 small ships I still want (annoyingly the alpha class is sold out in most places) but after that it's just down to my wallet and my current opinions on disney versus my inner collector.
Curious that FFG have recently heavily nerfed the Jumpmaster 5000 making it useless as a torpedo boat and yet this ship can have unlimited missiles and/or torps. Maybe if they had applied the reload mechanic instead of the FAQ, people would not feel cheated after buying multiple J.5000?
+Joshua Van Tassell If you're new to the game start small by practicing with a couple of TIE Fighters until you're comfortable with maneuvering, and then expand from there. There are lots of good fun Imperial builds. Pick the ships you like and try some different things out.
The Cardboard Dungeon I've been playing for like 1 month, so I'm pretty comfortable with the game. I'm think a TIE-Interceptor and TIE-Phantom would be a good combination.
+American Desi I agree, the bullseye arc is a neat idea. I like that it emphasizes skill in order to line it up properly, kind of like the polar opposite of the primary weapon turret.
Matthew Thomas this, so much. my favorite ship, and is just so hard to compete with in any way. FFG could just include some thin clear plastic squares marked with the bullseye line that overlay on top of the specific pilot bases
Not quite sure I agree with, "not maneuverable" It has all the possible moves 1-3, all the pilots can barrel roll and there is nothing to stop you giving it Boost from Engine upgrade. OK so the 1-2 hard turns are red and its not fast, that's good, if it were fast it or it had no red, or it had Talon/Segnor it would be overpowered.
I put it on my Christmas list so someone else can buy it for me. I agree it is totally ugly. It might be first ship I try to repaint. Thanks though for reviewing it.
+Joshua Van Tassell Yeah, aces will fly circles around this ship, although Kulda can get to PS10 with Veteran Instincts and Barrel Roll helps bring that arc to your targets.
+Joshua Van Tassell It's definitely situational and probably not all that good since it would require using maneuvers and attacks to set up opportunities for non-guaranteed rewards. You could get the perfect Saturation Salvo shot lined up on your own ship, with 4 enemy ships all at range 1, and then roll all crits and no evades and light up your own ship instead. Seems too risky to really be worth it. Maybe we'll see cards or abilities in the future like we did with "Genius" that make a card which right now seems not very good become so good that they need to nerf it. Who knows?
It does seem a very strange ability , however it does make sense to give it to the Scum faction and particularly to this ship given this pack comes with saturation salvo and scrambler missile. Sacrificing a ship to perform major damage to an enemy formation is not a new concept. see Fire ship: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_ship. In addition to being in keeping with scum ruthlessness, the scum faction does have some very cheap cannon fodder. Example Z95, with concussion missile and glitter-stim expended. I think it would be a brave (or perhaps desperate) tactic, but who knows, someone might actually make it work. Maybe just the threat might be enough: If you are flying a formation and see an enemy expendable ship straight at you, would you ignore it and choose a higher value target if you knew your opponent had this droid?
Take a ship built for defense, take a second ship with R5-TK and a boatload of assault missiles, then you can hand out unavoidable damage to all ships in range 1 of the defense ship!
UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!! UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is by far the coolest ship they have made design wise in my opinion. I think this is the best looking ship in the game. Plus I am going to repaint my like the Enforcer art, and the Dalan Oberos art : P
I think the shop looks cool. No where near as ugly as the wooden wookie thing. The engine looks sick. This review could have been about 4 minutes shorter had we not had to hear over & over again the personal whinge fest. If you thought this ship was a let down, don't go & see The Last Jedi
+Gavin McDermott Oh come on now, 4 minutes shorter? That's a bit of a stretch. It's fine that you like it. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I did see Last Jedi. I liked it quite a lot.
The Cardboard Dungeon Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions. What I'm saying is that yours did go beyond that. We don't owe you a solid for buying one, you could have done a review just from the wiki. Look at the other ugly ships, the wookie thing, IG 2000, Mist Hunter, Hounds Tooth etc & ugly colour combos, kihraxz & MA3. The colour combo on this new ship reminds me of something out of the 80's, but at least it's different. Unlike the Imp ships that have been the same colour since wave 1. But that's fine as well. If you wana do a cool ship review do the Shadow Caster. I can't find one you've done on it yet. 4 minutes shorter was a stretch. But I wasn't serious with that comment. I have liked all of your reviews prior. Let's just say I'm scum at heart & I'll stick up for the side who doesn't choose sides.
P.S. Best part of the Last Jedi was the credits rolling up & knowing I could leave without missing something cool. But I can sleep easy at night now knowing how the Imperials do their ironing. Hahaha
The Tau Empire has invaded the Star Wars universe !
+Uliseh It does look like a Tau vehicle doesn't it?
That's exactly what the 40K players said in my local game store/club
It looks more like an elder ship to me
The Irishasian No. Tau for sure.
No worries, both took from Dune
This thing looks like a beast, just ordered it for casual play with friends. Colors don't bother me at all, and I like the look of the ship; vaguely skull-like
I dont know about you, But that ship looks awesome
I agree. Funny how star wars ships can do this. I personally hate how the k-wing looks but it seems I'm in a minority there.
Resh Mayor Shame about the apint job...
@@Marco48375 You like the Asbestos egg but not the space B-17?
You say ugly, I ding it’s uniqueness to be something that draws me to it, I really want this ship.
Seems like an okay ship that will really benefit from a custom paint job.
+Derek Barnett Definitely
Love you're reviews mate cheers
Thanks
I actually like the look of this ship (But I like the Mist Hunter and Hound's Tooth as well)
+Zane Mingus I like the Mist Hunter. I think it looks like a retro sci-fi spacecraft. I'm not so much of a fan of the Hound's Tooth but I can respect those who like it, as well as this ship. this is my favourite ship design in x wing

Looks like Lone Star's ship from Space Balls.
+The Noob Woodworker Nah, Lone Star's ship was way less ugly.
The Cardboard Dungeon slap some aluminum siding on it and some wheels and were good.
Lonestarr's (yes, with two "R" on the end) ship was a Winnebago... they look like Winnebagos...
I say that ship is a good candidate for a paint job. I would say either chrome or plaid 😎.
I'd actually quite like in in a white and blue paintjob, personally.
I really like the bulls-eye firing mark. I really like the ship also.

You can always repaint it?
yeah, you've got a point there. Especially when they're not being sold as a big box set. And I'm still mad that the syck that was in the CROC didn't have Genesis Red's paint scheme.
@Julian--i have no painting skills--but I may start with some kickstarter miniature games I've ordered.
I think it looks good. The shade of green is a bit off though.
Thanks Pat! It’s hideous! I’m right with you!!
Let’s drop Kanan’s tokens!!
Great review. I wish I had seen it before I paid money to buy this thing. All your thoughts are correct. I've used it in games so far and it's useless. Nah. Looks cool, just needs a bit of weathering.
+sent3nced I knew there must be someone who likes the way it looks!
I can't believe how much hate this ship is getting. I really love it. I bought one straight away. It's got sleek wings and a massive engine. Mind you, I like the quadjumper too.
I happen to like how this ship looks. Call me crazy
I personally like the smaller scum ships like The M3s and Fangs
I think it looks cool. They can't all be gray.
I'm pretty late to the video here, but I love this ship. I'm sure some of it comes from back in my SWG days but overall I like solid looking ships. Yeah I'll admit that the model is better looking in person although that painty job... blech!
I'm with you on this one Pat. I just cant get excited about this one either. I hope you review the Resistance Bomber as well...
+Scott Bailey No worries there! You don't think I'd stop with only one ship left to review out of this new wave, do you? Don't answer that :)
I’m not saying anything, but I’m just saying 😅

It´s the heavy fighter of the Hutts, they are too big, brown and ugly.
Fits perfectly, don´t you think? XD
Oh it fits perfectly, there's no question. Doesn't mean I have to like the way it looks :)
True
Thanks for buying the ship. Yes, it is ugly. But the bullseye firing arc is a cool idea. Too bad other ships don't have it.
+American Desi I agree, the bullseye arc is a neat idea. I like that it emphasizes skill in order to line it up properly, kind of like the polar opposite of the primary weapon turret.
Bullseye on interceptors anyone.... I'm so going to home brew it- hopefully not too broken
Matthew Thomas this, so much. my favorite ship, and is just so hard to compete with in any way. FFG could just include some thin clear plastic squares marked with the bullseye line that overlay on top of the specific pilot bases
please make a scurge bomber video
I totally agree with you, it’s just not attractive at all, skipping out on this but thanks so much for taking one for the team!
I love the looks! A beauty! Love all Scum faction ships
It's so ugly that I love it!

HUTT CARTEL BABY!!!
I put it on my Christmas list so someone else can buy it for me. I agree it is totally ugly. It might be first ship I try to repaint. Thanks though for reviewing it.
I don't think the bullseye firing ark is very useful unless your enemy has ships like the HWK-290.
+Joshua Van Tassell Yeah, aces will fly circles around this ship, although Kulda can get to PS10 with Veteran Instincts and Barrel Roll helps bring that arc to your targets.
Nice
This ship looks ugly and buff... Not ugly as in "Fantasy Flight did a crappy job on the model"
+Ben Walters Yeah the model is fine. They really captured the ugliness.
I luv it it looks like a bug
Ah... a new meme ship, fantastic!
I seriously don't see a benefit at all in R5-TK.
+Joshua Van Tassell It's definitely situational and probably not all that good since it would require using maneuvers and attacks to set up opportunities for non-guaranteed rewards.
