I really don’t think it’s occurred to Brenda that people don’t NEED new lore updates or new skins for Warden, Yvonne, and Elizabeth. Most people just love their storyline for what it is, myself included. And if they were so concerned with the lore, I promise you someone in the community would write it for them, but the developers keep such a high wall between themselves and the players. They say they are keeping the perks and just giving them a revamp, which comes off as incredibly lazy to me. It feels like they want new characters, but don’t want to think up new perks. Which AGAIN, you wouldn’t have to worry about that so much, if you let the community have some say. Bring back character submissions if creating new perks is so stressful and you want new characters. There is absolutely no reason that characters who have been here since DB1 and are very well loved should have to be erased so you can add different characters, just ADD THE NEW CHARACTERS. now they say they are keeping Yvonne and Elizabeth but redoing their entire lore, which is what makes them so likable, and the redoing Warden entirely. It all just reeks of laziness to me. TLDR; leave these three alone and just make new characters.

Honestly? I'm on the side that warden being removed isn't such a bad idea as long as the reasons are legit. What would be a legit reason? Acknowledging that Warden as a character is very one-note and not interesting to write about. The entire story of Elizabeth, Yvonne, and Warden is extremely boring compared to the rest of the characters and especially compared to the rest of the killers. An example of a killer that's not exactly likeable yet still complex enough to have interesting storylines is Taliyah. Everything she's done is purely out of her own enjoyment, but she still has some complexities to her in the form of "What could have happened if this never occurred?" her own interactions with survivors proves she understands what she's done is not good and she has barely, if any at all, remorse for it. But then you're reminded that while Taliyah does all of this Taliyah is also in a place of life where she's not fully grown. She understands there's consequences, but with how she acts you can tell that she's still childish enough to not really think on it and it gets you thinking that if Taliyah was put in a different situation as a whole would this have happened. Another example is Ye-jun, a lot of people are going to say he's still likeable but that is mostly for the fact that he has looks. Ultimately, when you think about it, very little people actually like his personality as a whole. His story is typical of your Yandere scenario except for the jarring fact that he had been schoolmates with Dae and had been friends with him. Compare that to Warden he unfortunately just has absolutely no depth to his character. The story between Yvonne and Elizabeth and Warden can literally be pieced together through voicelines and their backstories alone. There is a jarringly clear "bad guy" in the story and with how he has been written there's very little depth to him. He is simply an "evil for the sake of being evil" character done in the worst way. Even if someone were to try and give him some form of depth in an attempt to keep him, it'd present multiple holes in the present day story. If the devs are replacing Warden for these reasons then it's perfectly fine, but replacing Warden because he's not a community favorite is not very fair yeah.
The only reason why ppl think his backstory is not complex or not interesting is that the devs didn't care to flesh out his lore. Same as Janitor for that matter

People like Stalker because majority find her design, gameplay and lore fun and interesting which is.. the polar opposite of warden, personally idc about warden as a character as in his lore but that was a very piss poor comparison. The root problem about warden is how boring he is, it's the same deal with Janitor, the only difference being that janitor isn't a bad person lore wise. Both Warden and janitor are one dimensional characters who are barely fleshed out. I'm not denying that people don't dislike warden because of his lore but a very good portion of the community are literally just indifferent to warden being removed, they're not celebrating but they're not weeping over it either. i been playing warden for a long while and i really would feel bad losing him but i accept the fact that he will be revamped, change or whatever and everytime i play him i get VCed hated and told to leave im just hoping he keeps the Prison Lockdown Warden Style Similar to Leland Coyle of the outlast trials im not good with lore at all so my apologies for not knowing much on him but i enjoy a lil defense to my main Killer
Nah, Seth got removed because his creator requested it after receiving harassment. Seanna, Valerie, and Gabbie's creator's were bad people so their characters got removed Warden's character is getting removed because people don't like him (which isn't fair cuz he still has fans)
Warden's looks and abilities need to be changed because his gameplay is uninteresting for most DB players. His lore is great, but his appearance doesn't fit Daybreak's new style. Elizabeth and Yvonne's lore could be tweaked to make them more exciting. Yvonne's ability relies too heavily on the killer's playstyle, making her less enjoyable to play. For example, Makoto is a more appealing option, compared to Yvonne, with an active ability that can be used frequently. Not to mention, Makoto is a free character making them more accessible and appealing for players. Warden's ability is too 'situational' and requires forced genlocking, making his gameplay boring(correct me if I'm wrong I've played only played Warden once). If his detection cooldown was shorter, he would be a more well grounded option for some players, but as it stands, he's still not as popular. Elizabeth's ability doesn't require a lot of skill at all to use effectively and reasonable, making her an easy character to play, especially for newer players.
I’ll be honest, i disagree with this, they held a poll to ask for community opinions. Meaning they asked the COMMUNITY to give their input. A majority voted for a desire to replace warden but keep yvonne and elizabeth. For people saying some disagreed, more agreed with this decision than disagreed (i know because i’ve been watching feedback the past few days.) If you all didn’t want anyone to go, fine, but a majority of the community had an overwhelming vote to remove warden. It was something they didn’t just do on their own accord, they asked for others to give input, and took the final verdict.

If you all didn’t want anyone to go, fine, but a majority of the community had an overwhelming vote to remove warden. It was something they didn’t just do on their own accord, they asked for others to give input, and took the final verdict.
