I can imagine those gloves are heavy and i used them before and got gassed out fast it amazes me how he can keep going but getting hit by him wearing 10oz you better pay me my whole career lol
***** ye but what does that mean, anyone landed a free shot could, what makes ggg good is his footwork, balance and ring iq which is underrated, but lets not get out of hand, ggg is an all time great amateur fighter, and has proven to be a very good pro fighter, but he has a god test in lemieux coming up and then hopefully we will get a good match when a guy moves up like winner of cotto canelo and then ggg can do the same and face either ward or kovalev or winner of beterbiev kovalev, if he gets those wins then we can start calling him pound for pound best, the way hes winning fights says a lot about his talent but he needs to do it to top level guys at 160 168 and eventually 175 ot be great, but he def has the talent to do it, but i dont see him getting past ward as of now
+brad harris Kovalev said that GGG hits as hard as a light-heavyweight. Could Andre Ward take those power punches? It's not like he's been very active in the past 2 years. He needs to face some proper boxers to become somewhat relevant again. At the moment, Ward is not very interesting for big money fights.
But not anymore. Comparing his left hook in these vids to the ones from the Canelo-GGG II media workouts are night and day. Did Abel Sanchez ruin GGG or just age?
perfect technique rolling shoulder into punch, power comes from the pivot. if you could see feet, you'd notice a slight foot pivot all in perfect synch with punch. it becomes muscle memory for these guys. it's amazing how short the punches really are yet so much power. and that turning the fist to be horizontal flat at impact, this dudes a puncher.
thanks angel, I got so focused on his perfect form, I just knew he was using pivots to get that added power into his punches. his pivots are in synch with his punching- so cool to see.
For the most part his power is natural, people like to talk about form but it only maximizes what you were endowed with at birth. Paulie Mallinaggi can perfect the same technique but he still won't be a massive puncher.
Rowan Williams you are correct in that. GGG has the technique to go with the power. without the right pivot for leverage the power will be lessoned. I learned the pivot and turning into my punches ,so I notice this technique and I saw this with GGG. BUT YOU ARE SPOT ON .
***** you pulled that out of your ass; it's possible he is taking something; but you have 0 evidence to back that claim up so you shouldn't make ASSumptions.
Thats why he hits hard, cus hes using his legs and to make his punch like a baseball bat and the sounds like a shotgun, damnn.. rosado complaining about his punch lol.
jack chan he has good timing. He not the fastest MW but he has very good speed when putting combos together and counter punching. Also has good defense that is seldom talked about but there are film studys on youtube. Counter's uppercuts under the jab also which are not easy.
Hey Chris, when you next do an interview with Abel could you ask him how Golovkins power matched up against Kovalev's who he also trained for awhile? I know they're in different weight classes but it would be interesting to hear what he said on it.
Boxers training in the background must be thinking hope I haven’t got to spar him afterwards ggg legend so many fighters ducked him and the boxers that fought or doubted him well they’re reaction after getting touched by ggg was priceless 🧨🥊
Hes got some power in that lead hook.. Rosado is on a tear lately really improving tremendously. Hes a much better fighter than his record may indicate.. This is going to be one hell of a fight.. If Rosado can withstand the early rounds I'm taking him by decision or stoppage in the later rounds.. If not I got Golovkin by ko within the first six rounds..
yeah my hands used to hurt after pad work aswell, make sure your hands are not wrapped to tightly!! and a tip that used to help me out alot was when you start a round on the pads throw your shots lightly then throw harder shots as you go on. This might help you out.
I keep hearing also he's not mike....mobile was a huge hitter at heavy weight. Ggg hits way harder than a middleweight. It's in the region of light heavyweight. That hasn't been seen at this level. Hope he continues to greatness. This sport needs the class it once had.
I wonder how Kevin Rooney was able to hold mitts for Tyson if Abel is talking about how he can feel those punches piercing through the mitts, sorry for bad english.
I really thought this guy was overrated until I saw what he did to Proksa .... Proksa is a very very good fighter and he didn't even seem to have to try to beat him, GGG has put down a lot of guys early who were ranked and have never been down. At the least GGG is a very dangerous fighter for anyone around this weight class. Very unusual power for a 160 guy
it appears to me that GGG's left hand is much better than his right. GGG"s left hits harder and looks more coordinated--throws punches from more different angles than his right. He only has overhand right, not much of a right hook.
i think its the way he throws his right hook, and the position in which a.sanchez was holding the pads, its not hitting the pad flush like his left hand is. when he throws his right uppercut it lands much more cleanly and looks just as strong imo
Even the thud on that jab sounds like a right hand. Golovkin has the natural power and the throughbredness of a boxer. Maybe his ancestors were fighters, but this is the part he's born with. The second is the perfect technique from the Soviet boxing system (like most boxers we see - Kovalev, Korobov, Beterbiev, Gradovich, Lomachenko, all Soviet boxers with great technique.)
Boris Dimitrov I'm thinking he means anybody of Asian descent is Mongolian ancestrally. Which is correct. Kazakh is a city of mixes - Eurasian descent. I could be wrong, but whatever, GGG is Eurasian and one if the best fighters in the sport
scary, ward said his chin is exposed and that is his weakness, that might be true to some extend but how exactly are you going to attack when he throws these beheading punches
I knew GGG is a fierce in-fighter like Marvelous Marvin (both stand 5'10). he's not very tall for middleweight but i can see he can be a sniper outside with those vicious right crosses.
He spars with guys who are over 200lb. Joel Diaz in his camp has said he hurts a lot of his sparring partners. To be honest i don't think Martinez or Ward really know what is coming to them. They think it's all hype, they're in for a really rude awakening.
I know looks can be deceiving and his record speaks for itself, but he doesn't seem to be punching that fast compared to most boxers. Does the guy have lead in his gloves or something? Even I can see his punches coming a mile away yet top guys are getting knocked out left and right.
***** I box at a USA amateur gym. I'm at 140lb and my coach has reminded me time and time again that my punches feel like a 180lber. Believe me, if you have great technique and stamina which Gennady does. Immense "natural" core strength and Power goes along way in a fight while chipping away at your already bruised opponent. Especially if its as hard hitting as this man's in the ring. He has 378 fights under his belt, thats the most in boxing today. I can guarantee you GGG has the best left hook in boxing.
Michael Scott Kozma I just watched his fight with a very game Grzegorz Proksa. He does not telegraph his punches like he does in this video. He seems to be able to eat punches like nothing and he can connect with a stationary or moving target. Since his punches come with consequences, that explains why he's running over top level opponents.
jamil akhtar Yeah ggg is good but that's all relative, he's only fought bums. i dont see him being number one pound for pound ever. there are so many better prospects out there
Lennon Morales So Macklin is a bum... huah.. Didn't he put Martinez on stumbly legs i remember? Golovkin ripped the shit out of Macklin. Whats your point.
His technique is amazing; watch the footwork that goes into the uppercuts. Eastern european fighters learn the basics well and are then amateurs for years, getting experience, then hey turn pro and are already great fighters. American fighters are after $$$ and turn pro too quickly, and when they run into this guy - who had over 350 amateur fights they dont have the fortitude or experience to compete.
Amateur boxing isn't like pro boxing. Amateurs count punches and it's all about punch and not be hit. Plus, they don't need to become pro as fast. A guy can have all the amateur fights he wants but if he hasn't become a pro yet you can't really say he's experienced.
Id Like to see if GGG could Figure out and breakdown Sergio Martinez.... GGG and Canelo is also an interesting match, but one i think could wait another year 2.
very difficult to deal with,,,,trying to avoid that kind of power while also trying to disable his technique is going to take one hell of a fighter to do so.....
Lucas Matthysse was winning on the scorecards going into the 7th round (same round of injury) plus Matthysse landed more jabs for the people saying Garcias the better boxer
Why do people think this dude is a lame, nobody wants to give him a shot for a reason. He beat all the big names from 160 to 168 even l75 in before going pro and he has not lost as a pro I watched his last fight live, and he can pop.
Idk what the guy below me is talking about. His distance, balance, and footwork all allow him the ability to land and get the most out of his power shots. His defense is suddle and he doesn't take alot of punishment because of how he positions himself in the ring. To you, whoever you are, you're lost homie.
ok fair point. I just get annoyed by pointless shit talking between the two sets of fans. I personally love both sports equally. also more to the point Gennady is a fucking beast 2014 going to be one hell of a year for him.
the real heroes are Abel Sanchez's shoulders
There's an economy to his shots, smooth, precise and concentrated,
no extraneous arm movement, excellent angles.
2022 Still come back to this sometimes before I go put in my miles
Was in his prime 😭
He's wearing 18-20 oz gloves here......Just imagine getting hit with those shots when he's wearing 10 OZ gloves. DANGER!!!
Well spotted. That is crazy.
I can imagine those gloves are heavy and i used them before and got gassed out fast it amazes me how he can keep going but getting hit by him wearing 10oz you better pay me my whole career lol
Yeah, he’s at high altitude too.
@@anthonycorona8695what type gloves are they what are they called brand?
Well ye most people he hits he breaks their bones 😢
A very impressive natural puncher.
Great technique
I'm sorry are the mitts mic'd up or is he just committing war crimes every time he throws his fists??
hes committing war crimes: those mitts were ...made in China
skarrface91 you think those sound crazy try some of ggg mitt work outs on media days, crazy, they mostly use boom stands on media days and big camps

***** i agree with everything you just said
best left hook in boxing right now
my left hook is the best
+Robbie Stephens okay...now please pass the blunt your wasting it..

very true ...if you look in the mirror you can see the pivot back foot
thanks angel, I got so focused on his perfect form, I just knew he was using pivots to get that added power into his punches. his pivots are in synch with his punching- so cool to see.
Lol its almost like a slugger swinging the bat at home plate waiting for the pitch to come to knock it out of the ball park
For the most part his power is natural, people like to talk about form but it only maximizes what you were endowed with at birth. Paulie Mallinaggi can perfect the same technique but he still won't be a massive puncher.

Poor abel sanchez. Hit hands probably got broken after doing mitts with golovkin
Golovkin packs a very strong punch...Impressive! Thanks for the upload & God bless.
Guy in the back at 4:56 thinking
"Not a fucking chance I'm sparring him, not a fucking chance"
jesus christ so much power
GGG punches so hard, he could extremly hurt his shoulder if he wansnt in great shape
If he wasn't in great shape he wouldn't hit that hard.
@@laaylagi6503 Haha both true
Golovkin es un grande!!! Lo más grande que eh visto en el boxeo
Thanks very much for this really great motivational video.
Look at the mans Back & Forearms.. no wonder he hits like a fucking H Bomb!
Thanks man. It keeps tripping me out!
That left hook, man, i can see how macklin went down off of that shot.
hands of stone
That sound is so satisfying
1:47 is a good insight into his leg movement how he twists his feet and buttocks. You get a lot of power from the buttocks
hips, legs and feet generate a lot as well.
Dennis Bautista performance enhancing drugs
Hella gay bro
the dude a beast man awesome power and technique, ward dont want them problems
Haze 90 Anyman make big noise if he want, big slow like a zombie , so slow , so slow , he throw punch like Bernard Maninng
jack chan he has good timing. He not the fastest MW but he has very good speed when putting combos together and counter punching. Also has good defense that is seldom talked about but there are film studys on youtube. Counter's uppercuts under the jab also which are not easy.
At 1:30 whats that pad called?
what type of mitts is the big round thing where ggg focuses on single punches
People talk about the power he has but really its because he delivers the punch so correct everytime really solid technique
Does anyone know where to
buy the black padded bag the trainer is holding for Gennady to punch at 2:14...?
Is this even legal?
Holy shit, serious power in that hook!!!
Anyone know what the big round pad his trainer is holding ? And who makes them ?
If you just took a wider angle and caught his feet... It would be even greater video!
Golovkin is real example how good technique can give you power its obvious that he doesn't have that raw power that you are born with it.
Amazing puncher.
Hey Chris, when you next do an interview with Abel could you ask him how Golovkins power matched up against Kovalev's who he also trained for awhile? I know they're in different weight classes but it would be interesting to hear what he said on it.
Does anybody know what gloves those are?
Yep.
Completely accurate video title.
He definitely has incredible power.
does anyone know what that big singular power pad they were using is called?
This is what natural power looks like
Aye Chris keep the Big Floyd Training and Mittwork coming! Please, that mittwork is like a WORK OR ART!!!!!!!
Yeah man he does look so relaxed.
what gloves are those
Every shot sounds so impressively.
where do u get that pad??
what is that punching pad called?
its a shield.
is that 14oz gloves??
How much yall think those gloves weigh? If 16oz then they look rather large
guys hits hard as every time he punches he throws his hip into the shot.
Those gloves are huge,i think they are costume made so he can not hurt his hands and the trainer hands with all that power!!!
scary power right here
What's the name of that huge boxing mitt that Abel is holding?
A cushion
Whoppee cushion
your ladys tampon
Shield
To be honest Abel's focus is on power and knocking opponents out, so that's often his focus
Who do u guys think will win golovkin vs froch at 168?
i think yes golovkin win by the way
makarion I do too
Lucky Nangnang golovkin is stronger and has a incredible punching power
Those left hooks will take ur head off!
makarion This guy is special. I think we are looking at a white marvin hagler. No joke!
And this mittwork is like a BOOOOOM! BAAAANG!, which is also very impressive. Looks like GGG hits like a real cruiserweight.
@ Hustle Boss
appreciate the nice videos maybe in the future you could try to film the entire boxer so one can see the footwork as well
Thanks, will do..
Boxers training in the background must be thinking hope I haven’t got to spar him afterwards ggg legend so many fighters ducked him and the boxers that fought or doubted him well they’re reaction after getting touched by ggg was priceless 🧨🥊
i like how he uses the full range for his power in terms of the waist
Hes got some power in that lead hook.. Rosado is on a tear lately really improving tremendously. Hes a much better fighter than his record may indicate.. This is going to be one hell of a fight.. Back in the day.
monster
Fuck I like that dudes power!!! Real breath of fresh air in boxing!
He hits real hard i liked to see him and chavez jr
That punch is nothing. It's only strong enough to kill me with one punch
I wonder how Kevin Rooney was able to hold mitts for Tyson if Abel is talking about how he can feel those punches piercing through the mitts, sorry for bad english.

Kazakhstan produces some fine boxers and gennady will prove that in 2013 starting with rosado.
it appears to me that GGG's left hand is much better than his right. GGG"s left hits harder and looks more coordinated--throws punches from more different angles than his right. He only has overhand right, not much of a right hook.
+Aaron Farber both got power, wade got fuked by right hands mostly last week.
He definitely has tremendous power with both hands. But that left hook has a speed that his other punches don't.
i think its the way he throws his right hook, and the position in which a.sanchez was holding the pads, its not hitting the pad flush like his left hand is. when he throws his right uppercut it lands much more cleanly and looks just as strong imo
first waist spin, then leg spin, then shoulder spin, last punch follows. all these at the almost same time with great speed....
Yes he's has excellent core.
Look at the size of those gloves!
no he lives in stuttgart, germany
Say Chris did u see Abel working on his defense or footwork, or is he more about cutting off the ring and stalking? cause he has defensive flaws
Even the thud on that jab sounds like a right hand.
Golovkin has the natural power and the throughbredness of a boxer. Maybe his ancestors were fighters, but this is the part he's born with.

Jimmy Lin yep. Neehaw'
Jimmy Lin Yeah i think its got to do with his genetics, Eurasians usually have much broader and bigger shoulders
Abel has some balls holding the mitts close to his face sometimes. One slip up from GGG and he's gonna be taking a nap for a long time.
scary, ward said his chin is exposed and that is his weakness, that might be true to some extend but how exactly are you going to attack when he throws these beheading punches
Yes, they are. Tszyu has korean father and russian mother, GGG has russian father and korean mother
