The days when you could turn up go an the roof an watch Aircraft Then we got 9/11 an the world change for the worsted airports lost there fun an everything turned towards security Very sad
I remember the days before Newcastle international airport was built. The terminal was a small white building and I think it was called either Woolsington or prestwick airport, but that eventually became the Newcastle flying club. I think it's now been knocked down. It was surrounded by a wire mesh fence and you could practically touch the aeroplanes. That's back in the days when we still had trolley busses.

I used to live in kenton bar, and my little legs (7 at the time) used to go and watch from that platform (bloody cold). Nearest I ever got was flying rc planes.
good old days when you were able to watch planes come in and not be forced to show passport and fear being blowing up
The better days when you could visit the airport and have a decent look around.
