A pastor of a large church in California told me that we no longer sing hymns because our young people don't like singing songs written by dead people. I replied with, well then, they will not like reading the Bible either because it was written by dead people. The pastor was speechless.
Of course...I have been saying similar things to naive , clueless Americans for decades. If you don't value and teach your kids things of history and ways and traditions and songs and movies , books etc. that went on before they were born ...then they will also despise the Bible and Christian faith since they are also things from the past.
