You did a beautiful job. Waiting for my hubby to get home to show him this. I have been asking for this for 12 years
If he’s pretty good handyman then he could definitely do this! Thanks for the comment!
GORGEOUS! I’m happy for your wife! Lovely family you have!!! Sure is good to be able to do that kind of work yourself. Congrats!

I am a finish carpenter/ contractor out in Nor Cal ! Now I tell ppl be careful doing that unless you hv skills? Sir you hv skills and what we say out here is you know something! Obviously you’re a professional carpenter so I would not of expected any less!
Also what a beautiful family and little piece of property! Great home on it ! I would love to move out that way one day and get outta this mess! I was up in Franklin Tn with a friend couple yrs ago and just loved the place! I went to a little baptist Church and heard a great Sermon! You ppl out that way love the Lord!
You keep up the great work brother!
Looks great 👍
Thanks!!
Beam looks great. Would have loved to see it after the sand & stain of the joint in the middle. The time lapse building process is gold when your building stuff, more of that would be great! God Bless from Canada 🇨🇦 😊
Thanks for the comment and the constructive criticism! I appreciate it I am trying to get better! Lol
Nice work! It looks beautiful
Thanks so much!

It turned out great! Happy Wife=Happy Life! Lol thanks Dean!
I'm a carpenter's daughter, been in the residential/commercial industry my entire career. The only issue I see, with my trained eye is you have your beam supported at one end but not the other. Of course, this is not a support beam, but to keep it real, looking, you have to have it look like it's being supported by the wall beams on both ends. lol Your home is lovely by the way.
Not exactly sure what your saying about not being supported at the other.
Thanks for the comment
@@gkbuilding The beam you placed on the ceiling should go wall to wall, and then your wall pieces underneath the beam. So, your beam looks like it is supported by the posts on the walls, on both sides of the beam. I hope this makes it clearer.
@@sillililli01 I’m pretty sure it looks like this. It has a post on each side and after I finished sanding the center section and touching up stain it looks as if it’s one continuous beam. Did you watch till the end?
@@gkbuilding Yes, I did watch till the end. Perhaps, it's just the angle of the video shot, but, as you are standing in your LR looking towards the kitchen (nice kitchen btw), the right side of the beam is not butted up against the wall, you have the post along the wall hitting the ceiling, not coming short of the beam, giving the look of support. You have it correct on the left side of the beam. You know what, if you're happy with it, that's what counts. I've just got a trained eye for these things, for instance, I can tell if something is not level from a distance, I drive myself crazy. lol
P.S. That wood you used and stain choice is awesome.
