  • In todays "Tips and Tricks with Mike", we're looking at line management and how to do it a couple ways. This becomes important in winter fishing when heavy flies and sink tips are a possibility, if not the norm. Proper line management reduces drag off the water by your running line, encouraging a proper turnover. Check out the video and leave a comment!

    Helpful video. Thanks for sharing. Could you show details on how you are holding line in the stripping hand? It would be helpful to know what the do’s and do not’s of line management. Thanks.

    Good stuff. When you talk about stacking your loops, are you talking about which hand holds the loops during the cast? I’m curious if you have noticed any difference in the rate that the line gets fouled in the eyelets. For me at least, it seems that holding the loops with the hand below the reel seems to reduce fouling.

      Well, this is subjective, but we find it works both ways when done properly.
