The 421 Super Duty put out way more power than the 405 hp factory rating. Saw a bone stock 421SD crank out 488 horsepower at I believe 5800 rpm on a dyno. I also saw a bone stock Chrysler 426 Hemi on the dyno and it put out 493 horsepower at the same rpm. So the 421SD is often overlooked when it comes to muscle cars but that's one of the baddest engines ever built. The Ford 427 R-Code is right up there with the other two I mentioned
5000 dollars in 1962 would be 49,807.95 in today's money, that's crazy. Been a Pontiac fan forever, have a 1972 455H.O, she is a bad boy. Them cats ars some cool ole cars, amazing what Pontiac accomplished, should still be around. Will always be alive to me. 👍👍🏁🏁
Only 16 1962 Grand Prix 421 Super Duty cars were built. Don't recall at moment on the number that are known to still exist. Not sure on the Catalina count that remains.
The first car I ever bought was a 62 Grand Prix 421 tri-power 4 speed I sure wish I still had it!!!!
