Even though some of these are good habits for your health, kids shouldn't be worrying about if they are having a glow up or not, if you're 10-13, and you are reading this please don't feel like you need to look a certain way, you are still developing into the person you will be in the future and no one should force you to look perfect in the process since it is quite a hard and messy one. Glowing up is a way to escape the fact that you have to accept yourself in order to love yourself. Beauty standards change all the time anyway, so you will never really feel okay. The harsh truth is that you will always have parts of yourself that you don't love, and that's okay! But my advice is to just accept them, because that's the only thing that we humans really want. :)

More tips! :)) (specifically for school) 1) paint your nails!! (If you aren’t allowed then use clear nail polish to make your nails shinier) 2) keep your hair brushed/ clean 3) clear your hair/shower/bathe every other day because every day will ruin it! 4) have a long/ relaxing sleep 5) don’t wear too much makeup! If you want to wear it, wear mascara, lipgloss ( not sticky or coloured too much!) and some powder 6) keep your skin moisturised and healthy, skincare is a daily, twice a day thing to do!! 7) keep your teeth brushed and clean 8) if you have no uniform, wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and look good! Don’t try and go against the dress code, it does not make you cool. 9) if you have uniform, don’t try change it too much, if you can then wear small things like leg warmers (with skirts) and bracelets 10) keep your head held high and have good posture! (Don’t act like you own the place though or you will probably get teased) 11) have a decent and not too large main friend group but branch out a bit to others! 12) don’t be rude or start fights, again it doesn’t make you cool, you just look stupid and get into trouble 13) get a cute bag and accessorise it with pins/badges if you want! :) 14) wear body spray/perfume and deodorant EVERY day! I know, right?? not only are a lot of these “tips” bad, actively harmful or stupid advice (for soft looking skin you need to put moisturizer on every time you wash your face, and for actually healthy skin you shouldn’t put soap on that very sensitive face more than once a day, not to mention showering twice a day can only conceivably be necessary if you’re an athlete and need it, plus exercising for one hour is unattainable for a lot of people and telling kids what to do with their makeup is toxic and will not lead to a glow up, because how can you learn to do your eyeliner right if you don’t learn how to do it shitty in middle school?), but the sleep thing really gets me!! Okay so teenagers do often need 9+ hours of sleep to feel refreshed in the morning (which is the best indicator of a good sleep routine-whether or not you feel refreshed. I know that sounds literally impossible but trust me, I’ve followed good sleeping habits before and it can happen! Just usually not when you’re waking up at 6-7 a.m., which is required for most schools, unfortunately. :( ) So anyways, most teenagers DO need a lot of sleep, but going to bed early just isn’t an option, especially within a week! A teenager’s circadian rhythm is delayed, and instead of telling them to go to bed at 11-12-ish like an adult, it tells them to go to bed at 12-3-ish, and instead of telling them to wake up at 7-8-ish, it tens to be more like 9-11-ish. here was actually a study done showing teenagers physically cannot perform at high mental functions before 10 a.m., meaning school is like… at a really bad time for your physical and mental health, unfortunately. But remember when I said I have experienced the ✨refreshed✨ feel? (I’m kind of in a depression relapse rn so that’s not gonna happen at the moment, but yk) So, you can train your body to move the circadian rhythm back a bit, but it takes longer than a week. I had to go to a doctor to tell me to do this, and basically what she said is: start by going to bed ONLY when your body feels tired. Do that for about a week, record when your body feels tired. Then, for the next two weeks, pick an average time and set that as when you go to bed. No naps (for this week, that’s VERY important, because you are TRYING to be tired), and NO going to bed before your set time. You will be extremely tired. This is good-your body will be more willing to listen, now, basically. Remember, don’t start this near any important events, you’ll be tired for a few MONTHS during this routine. Anyways, for these next two weeks, no screens an hour before bed. I know that’s like, really uncomfortable and makes it hard to do the escapism thing, but it’s just for two weeks, and you’re so tired anyways that’s basically like dissociation, right? Right. So byways, after that point, every week you back up the time by fifteen minutes. If something comes up and you end up getting in bed earlier or later than that time (you can decide what point is significant), you repeat the last week’s bedtime over again. In a few months, yes I do mean months, this is a semi-permanent habit you’re building so it’ll take a lot of time and effort, and it’d be great if you could get a parent, sibling, or friend to even help, as well… you will have a sleeping routine with the bedtime you want! And a few months after that you will wake up one day and suddenly feel ✨refreshed✨ and it’s awesome. Now, the circadian rhythm thing is the reason why waking up early sucks, and if you’d like to do this whole thing over the summer (which is coming up, so I recommend it-makes sure you don’t get behind on school from sleep deprivation), you should work on your wake-up time, too. Start by getting up at the time you wish you could get up every day, and stick to that time (it should be an easy time, at first), for the same length you stick to the easy bedtime. Then back it up by fifteen minutes every week just like bedtime, and eventually you’ll be able to wake up early. You gotta wake up the same amount of early every day, though, yeah?? None of this “sleeping in” thing, it’s physically comfortable but doesn’t it just make you more groggy? And in the long run, it actually makes the days after you “slept in” groggy, too. Only sleep in if you think there are circumstances that require it, like having not been able to go to bed at all last night or knowing you won’t be able to, tonight, so you gotta feel more rested later that day. Oh yeah and once you feel like you’re sticking to your bedtime (doesn’t have to be the final one, just has to be at least two weeks after the start), you can go back to having your phone in bed. The screen is bad for your eyes and keeps you up but you know what else keeps you up? Anxiety. So once you’ve gone past the phase where it’s really important to be sleep deprived, it’s not harming the process too too much anymore. :) Hope that big long thing was helpful!! Having a shower every Day is not good for your skin and your hair. It May sound disgusting but you have to take a shower 4 or 5 times a week. I used to take a shower every Day and that made my hair become really oily. Having a shower every Day can do a lot of things that are not good for you but for me it only happend to my hair and thats because i stopped having a shower so many times a week. Dear 10-13 year olds, please don't stress about things like glowing up, you're still so young and the best thing you can do right now is to go and be a kid and enjoy it whilst you can, because you have such a long time to be an adult and such little time being a kid. You are absolutely beautiful the way you are and you don't need to change for anybody or anything, just try and embrace your childhood as it is :) I promise you that future you would want you to just appreciate the way you are and the way you live at this age -from a 19 year old :) (p.s not to say these tips aren't healthy habits because they certainly are, just don't worry about your physical appearance you will look completely different in a few years )

Well- when I was 11 I was healthy but surrounded with super skinny peope, and they used to call me fat... I didn't know what to do so I kept my mouth shut. I always thought I was fat but infact, I was actually HEALTHY compared to them. So that made me have the idea to excersize and lose weight (when I think about it now, I feel really sad that society puts so much pressure on developing teens. Imagine a 11 yr old worrying about being fat and going on a diet, skipping meals just to fit in)

actually, you should bathe once a day, and wash your hair every two days. your hair produces oils that are good for you and washing them off can slowly damage your hair. and you should exercise 20-30 minutes, not an hour, you can overwork yourself. You should also do your skin care every night. make sure it’s not too excessive. a simple skin routine may include: washing face, moisturizing, and then doing something according to your skin type ( dry, oily, normal). “don’t wear makeup” is an exaggeration. i would just say, take care of your skin.

To me perfect will make me unsucessful. If im perfect i need to do alot to stay perfect and ill get distracted from school so my grades will go down and i have VERY HIGH grades so my parents would ground me. Thats why i stick to unperfect with hoodies

Guys, if ur not used to Exercising don't do it for an hr! It will make ur arms and legs hurt. Instead search up exercises depending on what u want. (Gain weight, Lose weight, hourglass, etc.) If the video tells u to do the excercise 30 times, do it only 10 times and then slowly increase it until u r fully used to it! You can also do jogging/running or skipping. But once ur done with it, eat smth unless u wanna lose weight. Hope this helps!

Glowing up is a way to escape the fact that you have to accept yourself in order to love yourself. Beauty standards change all the time anyway, so you will never really feel okay. The harsh truth is that you will always have parts of yourself that you don't love, and that's okay! But my advice is to just accept them, because that's the only thing that we humans really want. :)

More tips! :)) (specifically for school)
1) paint your nails!! (If you aren’t allowed then use clear nail polish to make your nails shinier)
2) keep your hair brushed/ clean
3) clear your hair/shower/bathe every other day because every day will ruin it!
4) have a long/ relaxing sleep
5) don’t wear too much makeup! If you want to wear it, wear mascara, lipgloss ( not sticky or coloured too much!) and some powder
6) keep your skin moisturised and healthy, skincare is a daily, twice a day thing to do!!
7) keep your teeth brushed and clean
8) if you have no uniform, wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and look good! Don’t try and go against the dress code, it does not make you cool.
9) if you have uniform, don’t try change it too much, if you can then wear small things like leg warmers (with skirts) and bracelets
10) keep your head held high and have good posture! (Don’t act like you own the place though or you will probably get teased)
11) have a decent and not too large main friend group but branch out a bit to others!
12) don’t be rude or start fights, again it doesn’t make you cool, you just look stupid and get into trouble
13) get a cute bag and accessorise it with pins/badges if you want! :)
14) wear body spray/perfume and deodorant EVERY day! (Don’t go too over the top just so you smell nice)
15) wear cute shoes! Such as loafers, Mary Janes, converse ect! (Creds to Sandy~Cliff)

I know, right?? not only are a lot of these “tips” bad, actively harmful or stupid advice (for soft looking skin you need to put moisturizer on every time you wash your face, and for actually healthy skin you shouldn’t put soap on that very sensitive face more than once a day, not to mention showering twice a day can only conceivably be necessary if you’re an athlete and need it, plus exercising for one hour is unattainable for a lot of people and telling kids what to do with their makeup is toxic and will not lead to a glow up, because how can you learn to do your eyeliner right if you don’t learn how to do it shitty in middle school?), but the sleep thing really gets me!!
Okay so teenagers do often need 9+ hours of sleep to feel refreshed in the morning (which is the best indicator of a good sleep routine-whether or not you feel refreshed. I know that sounds literally impossible but trust me, I’ve followed good sleeping habits before and it can happen! Just usually not when you’re waking up at 6-7 a.m., which is required for most schools, unfortunately. :( ) So anyways, most teenagers DO need a lot of sleep, but going to bed early just isn’t an option, especially within a week! A teenager’s circadian rhythm is delayed, and instead of telling them to go to bed at 11-12-ish like an adult, it tells them to go to bed at 12-3-ish, and instead of telling them to wake up at 7-8-ish, it tens to be more like 9-11-ish. here was actually a study done showing teenagers physically cannot perform at high mental functions before 10 a.m., meaning school is like… at a really bad time for your physical and mental health, unfortunately. But remember when I said I have experienced the ✨refreshed✨ feel? (I’m kind of in a depression relapse rn so that’s not gonna happen at the moment, but yk) So, you can train your body to move the circadian rhythm back a bit, but it takes longer than a week. I had to go to a doctor to tell me to do this, and basically what she said is: start by going to bed ONLY when your body feels tired. Do that for about a week, record when your body feels tired. Then, for the next two weeks, pick an average time and set that as when you go to bed. No naps (for this week, that’s VERY important, because you are TRYING to be tired), and NO going to bed before your set time. You will be extremely tired. This is good-your body will be more willing to listen, now, basically. Remember, don’t start this near any important events, you’ll be tired for a few MONTHS during this routine. Anyways, for these next two weeks, no screens an hour before bed. I know that’s like, really uncomfortable and makes it hard to do the escapism thing, but it’s just for two weeks, and you’re so tired anyways that’s basically like dissociation, right? Right. So byways, after that point, every week you back up the time by fifteen minutes. If something comes up and you end up getting in bed earlier or later than that time (you can decide what point is significant), you repeat the last week’s bedtime over again. In a few months, yes I do mean months, this is a semi-permanent habit you’re building so it’ll take a lot of time and effort, and it’d be great if you could get a parent, sibling, or friend to even help, as well… you will have a sleeping routine with the bedtime you want! And a few months after that you will wake up one day and suddenly feel ✨refreshed✨ and it’s awesome. Now, the circadian rhythm thing is the reason why waking up early sucks, and if you’d like to do this whole thing over the summer (which is coming up, so I recommend it-makes sure you don’t get behind on school from sleep deprivation), you should work on your wake-up time, too. Start by getting up at the time you wish you could get up every day, and stick to that time (it should be an easy time, at first), for the same length you stick to the easy bedtime. Then back it up by fifteen minutes every week just like bedtime, and eventually you’ll be able to wake up early. You gotta wake up the same amount of early every day, though, yeah?? None of this “sleeping in” thing, it’s physically comfortable but doesn’t it just make you more groggy? And in the long run, it actually makes the days after you “slept in” groggy, too. Only sleep in if you think there are circumstances that require it, like having not been able to go to bed at all last night or knowing you won’t be able to, tonight, so you gotta feel more rested later that day. Oh yeah and once you feel like you’re sticking to your bedtime (doesn’t have to be the final one, just has to be at least two weeks after the start), you can go back to having your phone in bed. The screen is bad for your eyes and keeps you up but you know what else keeps you up? Anxiety. So once you’ve gone past the phase where it’s really important to be sleep deprived, it’s not harming the process too too much anymore. :)

Having a shower every Day is not good for your skin and your hair. It May sound disgusting but you have to take a shower 4 or 5 times a week. I used to take a shower every Day and that made my hair become really oily. Having a shower every Day can do a lot of things that are not good for you but for me it only happend to my hair and thats because i stopped having a shower so many times a week. If i hadnt stop i dont know what could have happend.

🌟Do at least 1 sports activity per day. Good body=Good health

Well- when I was 11 I was healthy but surrounded with super skinny peope, and they used to call me fat... I didn't know what to do so I kept my mouth shut. I always thought I was fat but infact, I was actually HEALTHY compared to them. So that made me have the idea to excersize and lose weight (when I think about it now, I feel really sad that society puts so much pressure on developing teens. Imagine a 11 yr old worrying about being fat and going on a diet, skipping meals just to fit in)

Well I lost weight and didn’t eat much but it wasn’t for bullying 😂 I don’t even pay attention to the bullies, the reason I lost weight is cause of my depression from a lot of my family members and family members friends and also my dog passing away🙏🏼💜 but I never would try to lose weight to fit in with people that don’t even care about me or my feelings I would rather lose weight for revenge cause I’m a savage with no fears that knows karate, has very fast reflexes, I’m pretty smart with good grades, I’m an artist, soccer player, basketball player, football player, singer and dancer and I know anyone can accomplish all of that if you put your mind to it just like I did😊 Don’t listen to the bullies cause they have their own insecurities and they are just trying to distract themselves from their insecurities by bullying you, so they are just jealous of you.😊

Everyday when u wake up brush ur hair and wash ur hair and brush ur teeth before and after breakfast
Have a morning and night skincare routine for example:morning:cleanser-(optional) cleansing water-toner-serum-moisturizer) night:cleanse-toner-serum-moisturizer
Brush ur hair in the morning-noon-night
Brush ur teeth after and before breakfast and brush ur teeth after dinner and before bed
Have some self esteem
When u want to cry (except if someone is dying or dead or ur hurt) try to hold ur tears and stay strong it helps u become a little less emotional
Don’t make fights or drama stay out of it if u aren’t the target!
Shower everyday one day ur body and hair and the next day is only ur body
use deodorant
Shower routine:shampoo-conditioner-hair mask-body wash or body soap-body scrub
Drink lots of water and don’t drink and eat too much soda and chocolate and chips
Sleep from 10pm-2am to 9am-1pm in summer and in school days sleep from 9pm-10pm to 6am-7am

actually, you should bathe once a day, and wash your hair every two days. your hair produces oils that are good for you and washing them off can slowly damage your hair. and you should exercise 20-30 minutes, not an hour, you can overwork yourself. .wash face after u wake up and before bed
.make ur skincare simple,, acne serum (if u have acne),, moistriser,, suncream (important)
.take a shower every day dont skip them!!
.8+ hours of sleep
.dont have to do the excersice but 15 mins stretching in the morning make u more flexible
.wear as little makeup,, dont let it ruin ur skin
.dont wash hair often 1-3 was es depending on ur hair
.lipgloss and some curled lashes make a difference!!

makeup : 1 wet and wild lip and blush tint 2 bert’s bees lip balm 3 ilia mascara (curve the lashes outwards angled) 4 brush brows up 5 (optional eyelash curler 6 blend everyone out 7 set with mario badisco spray

Guys, if ur not used to Exercising don't do it for an hr! It will make ur arms and legs hurt. Instead search up exercises depending on what u want. (Gain weight, Lose weight, hourglass, etc.) If the video tells u to do the excercise 30 times, do it only 10 times and then slowly increase it until u r fully used to it! You can also do jogging/running or skipping. But once ur done with it, eat smth unless u wanna lose weight.

-shower everyday
-eat when you want to
-yoga/excerise for 10-30min (optional)
-stay hydrated
-wake up whenever you want to (try not to at 11am-12pm+)
-only wear makeup if you'd like
-be yourself! 💗

Why care about what anyone says? You are your own self. Even though this video might seem helpful, it really just changing you, and not for good. To impress other people, to try and be someone your not. If your doctor or a health educator you know says you need to do the things in this video because you are unhealthy, that's understandable! But ladies, please remember we are strong females! Don't pay attention to what other people say, because you are your own person! So slay that, and embrace that ladies!
