Awesome instructions! So, when you're instructing a beginner-to-pro level skater how much information you give about the use of body weight? Do you think there is a point that it is too soon to talk about it? Because it seems to confuse some skaters (even for worse) but in my mind the logic is that as soon one dominates the use of BW, it's easier to improve a (better) technique.
Hi, thanks for your comment. For me the soon the better in this case but it 's basically linked to the level of agility of the skater. If you are teaching adults, you can aware them of the idea and motivate them to work agility to get the skills to do it. If you teach kids, just do agility first and explain ideas later i think. To dominate body weight , they definitely need to be able the skate on one leg with confort and change edge smoothly (still on one skate) with balance....one leg slalom is your best friend in this case^^.
