Known as the "Voice of NASCAR", Ken Squier has been broadcasting NASCAR races for over 50 years. In this tribute, we'll explore some of his most famous moments in NASCAR history, from the first race he ever called to his most recent broadcasts. Squier also produced TV coverage of a ton of races. He opened World Sports Enterprises at the end of the 1980s, which produced pretty much all of TNN and TBS's NASCAR coverage from 1990 until the FOX and NBC took over production in 2001. With the possible exception of Foster Hewitt with hockey, there is not a single broadcaster who's made as much of an impact on a sport from both sides of the mic as Ken Squier with motor racing in general and NASCAR in particular.

Ken was THE man in the booth that could call a race and any race and make it exciting with the tone he spoke into the mic, thank you for hooking me and thousands others for the years of entertainment and enjoyment

Growing up as a kid in the 90’s there were a host of broadcasters that made an impact on the sport of NASCAR. However, the one ☝️ name that always stood out to me was Ken Squier. His ability to captivate the audience on television with his introduction into the race was something of a masterpiece. You didn’t have to worry about what was going on with the day of the race because Ken would fill you up in just a matter of minutes before the race started what were the most important headlines. His partners Ned Jarrett and Buddy Baker with Dick Bergeren in the pit area just brought in the best out of the race and the entire broadcast from start to finish. Thank You Ken Squier for everything you’ve done and the contributions you have made to the NASCAR community and all of us fans.

You nailed it when ya stated how it was back in the 90’s listening to Ken Squire, Bob Jenkins, BP, Ned, and also guys like Barney Hall. I’m not sure if it’s just nostalgia for me, or if they were just that much better than the announcers are now, with the exception of a few. Thank you for the fine video.

he was born the same date as my grandmother and another legendary announcer john madden who was a legend in his sport. Squier was a legend broadcasting the 500 on CBS

Mr. Squire also conducted CBS F1 coverage too, alongside David Hobbs. As a kid he made OWR (Open Wheel Racing) more exciting than Jackie Stewart or Bobby Unser ever did. In fact there really wasn't a better reporter since then.
Only Chris Economaki ranks along with Ken Squire.
