The beginning is pretty standard, but I’m following the manga and with all the added backstories and lore, it’s gotten a lot more interesting for me personally. The manga explains how vampires came into being, and the anime didn’t cover the good parts in the first two seasons, since everyone gets meaningful development afterwards, especially Guren as a villain. He has a whole other manga focusing on his childhood and how he accepted the mind control in favour of his love for her.
The anime definitely didn’t get into all of the good stuff and the manga is SO much better. It introduces so many new characters that are just so interesting and all of the lore is just so cool to watch unfold. It makes Yuu and Mika a billion times more interesting than in the anime, they aren’t just two dimensional characters in the manga, they have advanced and deep emotions and thought processes that make moments with them extremely touching and intricate. Honestly, if they ever decide to continue the anime, season 2/3 would a lot more intriguing and fun to watch considering all the world building that happens.
Honestly I would prefer them to make a whole different series and get the manga lore more accurate. Maybe if they recreated the series they would get better animation, more money and it would honestly be a new fresh start. What I’m saying is that a reboot would be so much better than a 3rd season
The manga answers some of the questions you asked But I agree about several of those complaints And yeah, the studio added some of the stuff that feels out of place, like the scene where Yuu walks into the water for some reason
It's definitely not the best series ever, but I've been completely obsessed with mika for the past 4 years and all I need to love a show is 1 good character, and I like a few others like krul, ashera, and shinya, it definitely has a a few problems that became really obvious in the manga but as long as I keep getting mika I'll keep reading it every month and it'll be a favorite of mine.
They call the Mac “Yuu” sounding like the word ‘you’ for his full name it’s ‘you-i-chi-ro’ they do not call Yuu yoichi lol We were robbed by the anime I really hate how they took or changed so many scenes I recommend you read it a lot of things are answered there which the anime took away. Manga spoilers: Horsemen are summoned by seraphs. They are based of a religion a lot of things are based on different religions Vampires were created by seraph blood if a human is compatible with consuming seraph blood that happens. Also don’t watch the DUB please 😭😭😭😭
The past two months I binged the manga and enjoyed my time with it. I honestly didn’t even know the anime existed and was thinking “man I wish it was an anime” but seeing how the anime is kinda puts me off but I kinda wish it gets like a reboot cuz the story isn’t that bad and the music and fight scenes are a little better then I thought they would and I feel it might be better received now then it was in the past.
Tbh what makes it so frusstrating is that the show screams missed potential. The concept and ideas lied down in the first episode are really good. But executed poorly and not touched upon. Like Mikas transformation into a vampire is a good groundworking. He doesn´t want to be a vampire cause he sees them as evil but he needs blood to survive. It could have also helped flashing the vampires out more like him meeting some of them just doing it for surviving but treating humans better while others seeing humans as their livestock (aka the vampires who are on top of the system right now). It was done okay but coukd have been way better if they´d introduce a good vampire side character besides Krul. The main problem issue of the mid writing is that most characters and especially Yuu lack the bare minimum smartness required for a show with a surviving apocalypse concept. F.e. the show and manga make it clear that Guren does horrible things and manipulates others. Yet anyone forgives and follows him trustfully becuase he is family??? If Yuus team was using their brain more and actually decide to cut ties with him - it could have been good. The other big issue is adding the demon possession thing and the angels. It packs the show with too many storystrings/ lackluster moments which broke the shows neck in the manga. A system that gave vampires a weakness to a certain element where weapons are crafted from would have been better.
By the way spoilers The first part where the humans just "happen" to be there was cause well it was planned. Also the first episode where is outside is cause well he was a soldier but he couldn't work with others and diobeyed commands and ended up in school. Also yes the anime is so confusing. I recommed reading the manga for better info and the anime cut off interesting scenes like the experiments that were done to the dude's sister.
The story deserved to continue, every anime has its flaws, this ones main issue was not having the chance to reveal it all. Over the years i have made a pretty big theory that answered some of it. I know the manga had the origin of vamps, but i never read the manga as I can't find the full set, only single volumes. When it came to demons, we learned that humans could be turned into demons, as seen with Guran's cursed gear, but it was also shown that his was unique to the other cursed gear. That made me think that the demons within the black and green cursed gear have had to be different in some way, that was when I realized the queen of the vamps told mika he had to drink human blood or "shrivel up and become a demon" which made me think that vampires become demons after being starved so long. Demons would probably be a type of spirit they lock into the weapons. That would explain why they kept the female vamp locked up to starve, the one that attacked the school. Then we have the random horsemen, and if you look at them, some of them have angel wings, and when we learn that Yu has more than just a demon in him, his demon refers to the seraph as an angel. Since humans were the ones to experiment on the seraph, i bet they caused the horsemen to come about. The idea the horsemen came out of thin air is stupid, so i theorize that they are the adult victims of the the vampire virus, that were somehow accidentally or purposely turned into the horsemen. The humans are shown to be just as bad as the vampires in time. They probably only used demons in order to survive until they could harnass seraphs. The humans really didnt know the powers they were playing with, and the angel inside of yu, the kind of salt, saw it fit to punish the humans. This anime may have been full of tropes, and had its terrible moments, but at the end of the day its story was unique and interesting. It wasnt the same copy paste vampire vs human story we are all familiar with. This is a story where it seems like the war between vamps and humans plays a smaller role into its overall narrative, and it's more about doing what is right in a world that constantly wants to do wrong on all sides. The added threat of demons and angels just makes it that much crazier, also not only that, but vampires here arent the same boring versions they always are. It's also really refreshing to see they didnt fully sexualize the vampires, yes they made the queen cute, but it wasnt like devils line where the vampires simply went beserk cuz they wanted to have sex, or vampire knight where the human has a love triangle with a vampire embracing his vampire ways, and a vampire that refused to give up his humanity. Seraph of the end was just simply the best vampire story.
Haha same. I saw content of this anime on yt back when it first aired and thought "wow!! Amazing artstyle and an interesting storyline. I'm gonna watch it later" ....that was in middle school. I'm now in college and saw thus video and remembered it existed lol. Wish I could've watched it back then because I started reading the manga and the fandom is super dead so you have no one to talk about it with 😔
that would be great but i would like a reboot. like Seraph of the end but with todays standarts of animation and more eps to really flesh out the story
Man, this brings back memories. I've never seen much reviews of this and it's quite refreshing to see it now. I've hated the highschool part because it was unnecessary, I get it's like to have the characters to learn much about the world but it was a bit weird when they stay a bit long in school. Instead of having characters to set in school, why not have MC go straight into fights and show that he need to do teamwork with other people and learn combats along the journey that way it shows they have improved and it earns them to be overpower. Also, you were right about the dialogues, they are actually quite bad but funny. Young me never realized how many flaws it has. The only character I like was Mika, he had a real cool character development and an interesting perspective. The MC is really annoying and i don't like him at all. In my honest opinion, Mika would've have make a great protagonist. Seeing how he struggles as a vampire, how he gets stronger and the interactions with other vampires. It's a lot more interesting. The manga is better as it answers some questions. I am kept up to date.
Yeah it’s kinda cheesy and basic but I do like it. A lot of the info is explained in the manga and light novels. You’re supposed to wonder but the anime just kinda makes it seem like a plot inconsistency
I personally absolutely loved the manga (oh god the art style is just beautiful) and the universe of the show in general, even if I agree some characters REALLYYY lack development and depth, which really is a shame bc they had lots of potential. so when I saw the anime I was beyond disappointed. Like why do they talk like that ?? And why does the animation look so unnatural ?? Also the manga covers really heavy and somewhat religious themes with lots of symbolism, so why does the anime adaption look like some show you would put on for your 11yo kids
idk i loved seraph of the end, but ill tell you soul eater just didnt age with me well, i found it amazing when i first watched it but recently i was scrolling thorugh netflix and i saw it and i couldnt even sit through 4 episodes.
I watch that anime about 2 years ago and I thought it was pretty good but the art kinda turn me off and I didn't want to give it a chance because I was hella bored but it turned out to be pretty good now I don't want to watch it after what you said you might ruin my childhood like when I re-watched Sharkboy and Lavagirl
I really with I hadn’t watched this video, I really like seraph of the end.. and I apparently can’t take criticism well. I swear the anime I’ve re-watched the most is seraph of the end. I really like the art style, and vampires. And the manga is very good. Also they don’t call Yurichiro “Yurichi” they call him “Yuu” or “Yu” And they just call Yoichi “Yoichi” Pay attention.
To be clear I enjoyed the rewatch despite its faults. From what I hear the manga doesn’t have most of the issues the anime does. I wouldn’t let this video damper your enjoyment at all. I made it for pure entertainment and not to shit on the series or nothing like that. And hate to be that guy but it’s *Yuichiro Pay attention. jk 🤭 In all seriousness I hope you atleast enjoyed parts of the video.
The anime yeah I agree a 4-5/10. The manga is a lot more better. -SPOILERS- It explains a lot more in the manga as most do but it sucks on how the anime changed and left out so much. How Mika went on a mission before and it showed another seraph experiment and was begging for Mika to kill him. I don’t like the four month time skip and if they ever do make a season 3 I hope they show how during those months Yuu was in and out of demon state and was locked in chains. With current chapters it focuses a lot more around Mika and Yuus relationship. The manga gets a solid 8.5/10 it’s super good. The plot is sorta confusing still but everything really does get explained more. So I do recommend it.
I’ve only watched seraph of the end like twice and that was years ago, it still will always have a place in my heart and I still regard it as one of my fav anime’s but I think the reason I refuse to rewatch it now is cuz I’m low key scared I’ll ruin the memory and past experience of watching if I rewatch it now. Honestly this anime coulda been an 9/10 if they hadn’t thrown a bunch of nonsense plot devices out nowhere every few minutes. Also after this review I’m tempted to rewatch it so I prolly will, even if I cringe and don’t like to story as much as I used to after I do I just know that it will strangely still be one of my favs just cuz of the impact it had on me when I was younger and how happy I was watching it. Like till now “SOOOO WHERE ARE YOUUU NOOOOOOW” still lives in my head rent free. And don’t get me started on the high school setting at the beginning, that was so random like why not be strictly an army type set up, that woulda been way more interesting not a whole ass high school.
All dubs make me cringe, idk how anyone can deal with it. Also the manga is way better, the producers didn't put much effort into the anime but the source is solid, I saw the first ep on release and couldn't wait a week so I got into the manga, then proceeded to cringe as the anime went kaput.
yoichi has a character revelation in the manga later on, we get to see he actually has a really dark side and a strong will to take revenge, but he never gets his arc where he actually takes his revenges and shows how he actually feels to his friends. It looks like we will never get his arc because the manga doesnt focuses on the side characters like the shinoa squad at all!
There’s prequel novels that focuses on Gurens teen life that explain some of the plot holes on the anime But it’s weird that they’re operating on that notion 💀
Manga and anime of Seraph series feel SO different: the manga doesn't skip a lot of things, itÄs still confusing sometimes but it gets explained later (waaay later xD)
There are probably multiple animes that I used to love, and still remember fondly and love, but which I wouldn’t be able to rewatch without some problems. Coming to mind are Familiar of Zero, a very fun and good anime but with way too much filler and romantic triangles. I still remember it being very good when it actually kept focus and the music was really really good. The other one is Sora no otoshimono (Heavens lost property) which was one of the first animes I ever watched and really enjoyed. Had it not been for the multiple filler episodes (even if some of them were fun) and the extreme horniness (that of course existed in most young teen anime) I would probably give it a rewatch.
I watched Seraph of the End and just caught up with the manga today. Anime was kinda fun, but it just got more annoying as it went in the manga. Yu is insufferable and you could make a drinking game out of how many times to say the word "family" comes up. The main characters' main goal is stupid and there is way too much side swapping. It's just irritating. Fun Fact: I watched Noragami and Kekkai Sensen prior to this, so I heard Kimizuki's voice throughout 3 different shows in a row.
That’s the point. I don’t watch dubbed anime anymore. The point of me watching it dubbed was to see if I could enjoy it in the same way that I watched it originally. Which was dubbed back when I was in high school.
First of all the dub was pretty good dont say it wasn’t cuz I watched it and there’s way more positive than negative so please stfu about dubbing I ain’t know if ur Asian but if your not it’s giving wannabe Asian
Let’s all be fr forget sub and dub the abridged was downright hilarious. I rembering watching the abridged after the series yeeears ago and it’s amazing.
I hope you will read that because I put so much effort in writing it. I did enjoy the video tho but i wanted to share my honest opinion about it. This anime have been one of my first anime that I watched, back then it was perfect to me and now it is still the same. I rewatched this show 8 times and everytime enjoyed it and I can say this is still my favourite one. This anime is just different from other shows, I love the art style, music, dynamic of fights, deep story and it is not fucking around when it comes to show brutality, it is dark fantasy after all. I like videos like this because i can see what other people think about this anime, but some of your arguments seems to be just nitpicking details. I watched this anime so many times that I can explain majoryty of your questions. They are obvious to me but I know this anime inside and out, and if you watched this anime cassually without diging into it maybe some things can be unclear, this is understable. I don't know if you red the manga or are aware what is happenning next, but I don't wanna spoil anything, so i will just say, anime is good adaptation of manga but manga is more complex and after the anime ends story changes significantly. The ending of anime is different, thats true, but it gives the same concept as in manga but in simpler way and we don't know whats going on if we saw just anime. Anime itself is just undone and it is missing so much by not giving us more seasons, plot of the anime seems to be simple but when we look at manga whole story it gets 10 times better, anime is just nice beginning to true masterpiece. But let's back to the anime itself because this is the topic of that film. I agree with you that fight at 17:37 was garbage, but that is the worst scene in whole anime and fights in this episode was done worse than in rest of the show. Also I don't know why people gets mad because there is school in early episodes, it is shown cool and it is not even boring to watch, legit, in every episode is fight regardless if they are in school or outside i have watched many anime that before episode like 4 don't show much action, but this anime is full of action. Moving on, origin of vampires and those apocalipse creatures, this is explained in the manga later on and it is not nessesery in anime so it wasn't there, little spoiler about where did they come from in bracket (▶So simply after apocalypse monsters started to showing up to wipeout remaining life, and vampires were humans long ago but they were changed by drinking blood of first vampire but technicaly something else than vampire he looks like angel basicly I don't really know at the moment but something like this ◀) Next, voice of Yoichi, I don't know who watches english dubed anime but in japanese it is okay. Why are characters so strong out of the sudden? They get the best weapon that gives them power of demon that is inside weapon, and they are compatible with it because they were born with seraphs virus i simplyfied that but basicly that is nearly true, later on they will control demons better but in episode 7 they have good weapon but they have lack of teamplay, vampires are strong and in this sytuacion more numerous as well so regardless of good weapon vampires are still dangerous. I will end up right there I agree with some of your arguments but, there I wrote my biggest objections about some aspects of your video that I can not agree to, sorry for making it that long but I feel bad that those minor inaccuracies were inflated to the point where I was wondering why you are nitpicking so much.
Thank you for the insightful comment. I’d recommend some paragraph structure tho in the future (makes it much easier to read). This video was made not so much as a dense critique but a retrospective with the focus on entertainment first rather than making a statement about whether the show is good or bad etc. So please don’t take my inflation of the nitpicks as a means to make the show look bad or worse to deter people from checking it out. I just did what would make for the most fun video (watching it in dub was one of those choices) I think based off what you’re saying it sounds like this anime should get a remake that actually makes an effort to flesh out the foundations of this post apocalypse rather than just thrusting us in it with no real understanding of how it works. A lot of my issue lie in that aspect but when you turn your brain off and just enjoy it for what it is, it’s an entertaining time. I still hold the show highly in my memory but I now see that it wasn’t quite as good as I once thought. I have a soft spot for this show and just wanted an excuse to talk about it again.
Thank you for the answer. Sorry for making last comment hard to read and lack of paragraphs. I was focusing on letting my thoughts go out instead of making effort to make it look better. I now understand your point and that I jumped to conclusions. I have watched a lot of similar videos and I feel bad when people sometimes give it low score because they are convinced that this anime is mid or it follows the standard pattern of dumb protagonist that makes his revenge or this anime is gay and etc. maybe I became more harsh because of it, and more commonly see that when any creator makes film about this anime and presents it in a bad light people in comments are denying it and says - this anime was nice what are you talking about or something like that. So I don't know anymore if creators are just joking around because they know that they will make lots of people upset and fans of that anime are a good target actually, but these are just my guesses XD. Anyway, I don't feel like this anime needs remake but more seasons instead, things are expiained better when we go further in that story, and anime is not missing out a lot of things. It seems like this story was made for it to make people confused at the start but then it explains more and more and when we go back to the beginning we can actually see that it was preparing us for that. for example: and here will be little spoiler in bracket (▶We know that Crowley is 13th progenitor but actually he is 7th because he drank blood of 2nd progenitor and not of Ferid 7th progenitor. Ferid gave Crowley blood of his father, but he said to vampires that he gave him his blood. so Crowley is as powerful as Ferid but i feel like Ferid is stronger anyway because he is older and vampires gets more powerful with age. So in anime when we see Crowley fighting both squads he has no problem to defeat them, but we would expect he will strugle because Shinoa squad with Narumi squad defeted 15th progenitor that was only 2 ranks lower than Crowley. ◀). I agree with you this anime can be watched like nobrainer without carring to much of further story just to have fun, thats why we watch anime after all to feel pseasure. But it kinda hurts to see it hadn't continuation, so maybe more people would get into the further story and enjoy it as well.
you know they should READAPT seraph of the end (kinda like what they did too hunter x hunter) but just let the director take more time or something, too polished everything too those few good scenes we got
MANGA - If you start it off with the manga and continue like that, it goes much better in my opinion. The characters also aren't so tropy and laughable right away, in fact they completely cut out Mika's backstory in the anime introduction, along with the other kids. Mika was abused and thrown out of a moving vehicle/abandoned, and the other kids share their less-than-ideal backstories as well, very happily might I add, to Yuu, and then say that they're happier since they have a family now. The characters also get more development in the manga, the villains and main characters. The anime skipped over everything that meant anything much and anything that was good. The characters feel much more alive and more interesting, and instead of being two dimensional like the anime ones, most have deeper emotions and their thought processes are much more advanced, it makes moments between characters and others touching and intricate, and the attention to detail and information we gain as readers is much greater than in the anime. The pacing and build up is much better from what I've read and seen than in the anime. Alos that walking into the sea thing never happened in the manga, I don't know what that was- ANIME - If you really wanna watch the anime, the sub is much better than the dub for this one, as the characters have more emotion and even the beginning isn't as cheesy and tropy. The characters also feel more alive and say some things that are in the manga that dub doesn't say. The things they say also aren't as cheesy or weird, although they do call them bloodsuckers and vampires, as that's what they are. Although I wouldn't suggest only watching the anime and instead looking to the manga for some answers at times, whether it be for backstories, info on things, the origin/making of things, and more details about things such as the seraph that the anime doesn't give us. The music and directing also seems better in the sub than the dub, but the animation isn't gonna change lol. If they ever continue the anime, the 2/3 season would be much more fun and interesting to watch, or (even better) if they just restart it all. Also he isn't called Yuuichi, Yoichi is a different character, and they call him Yuu like 'you' because Yuuichiro is his name.
An anime I enjoyed when I was younger was S.A.O and deadman wonderland . Both were dubbed and my god I can't believe I liked those shows , they're good for 10 year olds though. On the other hand , you guys should watch Odd Taxi , it's extremely underrated this season!
I agree with the recommendation of odd taxi. It's sooo good, hopefully the last ep keeps up the amazing quality. also nice pfp, year 2 volume 4.5 came out recently (of cote) I can't wait for it to be translated.
S.A.O was not for kids lol there was a rape scene in one of the seasons a lot of massacre and murder the latest season was even crazier like- nope not for kids
I think the ending of it in the anime was just there to have an ending in manga it doesn't just goes like that like everyday every once 1-2 minutes demon takes over the control of Yuu and it said to be that its been happening for days or smth ig later on he learned how to control it I dont fully remember But also the dub sucks seriously everything the characters says feel so cringe to hear especially the specific words they chose to voice that's why the sub is better I think the Anime and manga is good not for everyone ofc it may be boring or in manga case complicated also has some scenes that hasn't been explained and some characters just disappears in the manga after some point and some parts doesn't even makes really sense but somewhere in the manga explains what Anime didn't Idk that's all I can say
The anime leaves a lot of things out, also, seraph of the end is a sequel, it’s the sequel of “catastrophe at sixteen” and I’m guessing that a lot more things are explained in there, but the anime leaves off a lot of thing that were in the manga, it also adds things that weren’t in the manga, which gets annoying, but the series is pretty solid, there’s some times when the writing gets iffy, but my man kagami literally saves it every time at the vary last moment 💀
i guess my standards really are that low i absolutely loved the show my opinion on it hasn't changed since i watched it and so my standarts hasn't changed either
I love Seraph, but just like vampire bund and rogue hero, i still hope for akashic records to continue, they start you on an interesting story, then they are gone
The Four Horsemen of John are from the final battle in the Bible’s Revelation. They represent different evils. I’m this show, they were created at the same time when humans unleashed the virus that killed everyone over 13. They’re basically only there to show that it’s post-apocalyptic times. The manga explains the Four Horsemen of John very well.
the manga has gotta be one of my favorite manga ever. Now don't get me wrong the anime is good but it's not great and it has way to much lost potential. also, every time you said Yoichi instead of Yuichiro it hurt 😭
You did not just call Yu(ichiro) Yoichi 🤣 They do NOT call him Yuichi in the anime, lmao. They call him YUU as in "you". That aside, OnS will forever be my favorite anime + manga, no matter the many wrong things with it. The story telling and character development in the anime did not age well but I do feel like they rushed it and didn't really pay attention to the details. Also, they dragged the anime out a lot. The two seasons are just the intro of the story which is a pitty. I would've really enjoyed to see more of the background stories and the lore when it comes to the seraphs/vampires/demons etc. The manga answers so many questions that they left unanswered in the anime. Oh, well. You can't have it all. Maybe they will make a 3rd season but I (sadly) doubt it, since it didn't sell good (which still saddens me since the story in the manga is amazing). Also, Kagami, the author of the manga, takes his time when it comes to finishing the manga. Like, it has been on-going for more than 10 years and he drags the lore out so many times when one chapter only lasts maximum 5 minutes to read and then you're left with more questions than before, lol. So, yeah. Even though there's so much wrong with it, it kind of makes it good(?).
so what im gathering is that the dub is just awful, both in how it sounds and how things are poorly/stiffly translated, and how they did my boy yoichi dirty. also! you'll be glad to hear that the whole 4-month timeskip is not in the manga at all, and the walking in the ocean scene was completely invented for the anime. you also might be glad to hear that starting like. literally DIRECTLY after the end of the anime, yoichi suddenly starts getting interesting development, guren's backstory is explained (maybe a little... over-explained... sorry, cant help being a guren hater), and mika permanently groups up with the squad.
10:41 Don’t compare a goat to a lamb but I agree on Yoichi’s voice being bad at certain times in dub 18:36 That’s Code Geass lol But in all seriousness, I like this video
@@AwkwardlyAnimated OK, so the thing about Code Geass is that it’s trying to appeal to everyone to look cool and make money, don’t believe this then, why do you think they dumb down the battles, or the mechas being barely explained and even it trying to be an epic tale of revenge, highschool comedy, and a political drama all at the same time? (Why do you think Kallen has such large boobs? Because sex sells of course) but the execution is so poor. That’s also the reason I hate CG because storytelling takes a back seat and money comes first. And the fact that this has almost a nine out of 10 rating on MAL proves this because most anime fans don’t care about how bad a series as long as you appeal to them.
oh man the seven deady sins, that was my bad taste when i first got into anime. You know i heard one time that everything is good when there's nothing to compare it off
Like many said, the manga is so much better. However, it has also so many defaults. Like, what the freak is the Seraph of the End? They told us that it is a human experiment (we get no information on how it happens, which kids are selected, how the experiments go, what substance they get injected, why they do it) and then it becomes somewhat of a consequence from the First vampire, or i don't even know?? The manga throws at you notions without even explaining them to you, or when it does, it either skips details or doesn't make sense. Also the characters are dumbarses. It is acknowledge that Yuu is from the very beginning, he's worse than most shounen protagonists but his desire to protect his family later is explained and you can understand why he cares so much and it is actually interesting to delve into it, anyway. He is an annoyance but the others. Oh my god. Have they got a brain??? They see their comrades get slaughtered yet they are still like "But Guren must have had a reason!!! He's not bad!!!" Man I like the manga a lot!! But I hate it too at the same time! It's good in a way, you should always take a step back and criticise what you enjoy. This manga has so much potential (it's still being published) yet it manages to fail spectatularly. You cannot leave your spectator hanging for a hundred chapters to finally get an answer to fundamental lore that the reader might ask themself since they started reading. It's not normal to have a reader say "hold on, I don't get it, the last chapters they've been saying X ... Huh? Well... Maybe they will talk about it in the next chapters?..." --> 50 chapters later : "Oh! Ok so MAYBE that's why??" but then another misunderstanding arises. In addition to the lack of depth regarding some protagonists, the pacing in this show is a huge problem. It's so slow while being too fast. Anyway! Nice video, and I had a lot of fun watching it! Thank you!
This is by far my favourite vampire anime with Ferid being one of my favourite characters because of how unpredictable he is. And if you read Catastrophe at Sixteen and the Vampire Mikaela, it's revealed how involved he is with the demon army, going as far as being the puppetmaster in the Hyakuyas' attempt at escaping Sanguinem and Guren's squad being present at that specific time. I do prefer the SUB over the DUB tho. Now the worst anime that I've seen and will never return to is Diabolik Lovers. I actually recently learned that the anime was based off of the game but it was just shredded to pieces from what I've heard. The anime is just so bad, I blocked out most of what happened, including the plots of both seasons. Also I hate Yui. She's just a poorly written protagonist. The only one with decent writing at best is Reiji, the one with the glasses. There was a time I thought it was good, but what really turned me off was the sound effect they used when biting into Yui's neck.
This anime WAS one of my favorites when I still hadn’t watched as many. Now, looking back, I can’t even BELIEVE some of the cringey stuff I watched. The one that stuck out to me the most was Spy x Family, mainly because I USED to love it as it aired season one, but looking back, the balance between comedy and serious episodes is terrible; they seriously should have just stuck to one or the other.
I hate new Animes unless they are good made this one i dont like aswell we Prefer Buffy animated series and blade Heck even spawn hellsing trinity Blood i prefer aswell x die Serie zenki igano kabamaru Bloody curse of yoma rakshasa Street rumiko Animes mermaid Forest mermaid scar Soul Land ost saying seiya Magic knight rayearth escaflowne fushigi genbu and yuugi for Me
I used to only watch iskai only like the 1 season one and loved them and spent hours thinking about what if I was sent and what I would do change the world and try to get back and think about my allies role in my plans and etc.
In your opinion what are some anime that didn't age well? I'm curious to hear your thoughts. 🤔 Use code: "AWKWARD" for 15% off on your next Lootcrate - loot.cr/AWKWARD
@@BigFroppa Literally almost everyone knows about Berserk…I’m not sure what you’re talking about. It’s a masterpiece that has aged extremely well, but it just hasn’t gotten a good adaptation. It’s built up a timeless legacy for all it’s done for its fans, and I doubt anyone will forget it.
You liked it before, but now your "Taste" has improved and you dont like it now. So is this an honest review or a biased review? The power of suggestion is VERY VERY strong, we all have. But you started video with a voice saying it doesn't look good. It sounds like this is the case. Bleach is my favorite piece if media/entertainment. KUBO is an amazing writer and Artist his message, the story, and character are TOP NOTCH. And due to ONE video that was critical of bleach for points that are objectively wrong. Then In Lock step the Anitube community smashed it. So it happens
there are reason for the waiting of the humans and how did the humans got there weapons what is the origin of the vampires how the vampire society works how about the human society before and after the apocalypse why did the apocalypse happen in the first place you can know them from the manga and LN Ichinose guren's catastrophe at 16
The beginning is pretty standard, but I’m following the manga and with all the added backstories and lore, it’s gotten a lot more interesting for me personally. The manga explains how vampires came into being, and the anime didn’t cover the good parts in the first two seasons, since everyone gets meaningful development afterwards, especially Guren as a villain. He has a whole other manga focusing on his childhood and how he accepted the mind control in favour of his love for her.
You should read “catastrophe at sixteen” or “the story of vampire mikaela” it further explains the developing and writing of a lot of the characters 🙃
I see this comment was 2 years ago... The manga writing is trasher than the anime now.
It is still on going
@@Sand-user-tf4bm8wh9y en serio lo crees así?
@@anafernandaoliver what?
The scene with yuichiro walking into the ocean never happened in the manga.
Interesting, I guess that makes sense
Fr when I rewatched the anime I was like meh. But then I read the manga and it was so interesting. W story
The manga answers some of the questions you asked
But I agree about several of those complaints
And yeah, the studio added some of the stuff that feels out of place, like the scene where Yuu walks into the water for some reason
They call the Mac “Yuu” sounding like the word ‘you’ for his full name it’s ‘you-i-chi-ro’ they do not call Yuu yoichi lol
We were robbed by the anime I really hate how they took or changed so many scenes I recommend you read it a lot of things are answered there which the anime took away.
Manga spoilers:
Horsemen are summoned by seraphs. They are based of a religion a lot of things are based on different religions
Vampires were created by seraph blood if a human is compatible with consuming seraph blood that happens.
Also don’t watch the DUB please 😭😭😭😭
Ty for calling out the nickname thing- I was so confused XDDD
By the way spoilers
The first part where the humans just "happen" to be there was cause well it was planned.
I remember looking at the art style and loving it, thinking I'll watch it later and now here we are w/ me remembering it exist 😂
Same, I also really like the art style
Haha same. I saw content of this anime on yt back when it first aired and thought "wow!! Amazing artstyle and an interesting storyline. I'm gonna watch it later"
....that was in middle school. I'm now in college and saw thus video and remembered it existed lol. Wish I could've watched it back then because I started reading the manga and the fandom is super dead so you have no one to talk about it with 😔
To all Fans of my childhood Seraph of the end Vampire Reign Series like me, let's all believe they will make a season 3 or a movie.
that would be great but i would like a reboot. like Seraph of the end but with todays standarts of animation and more eps to really flesh out the story
@montelriles7643 To all my childhood Seraph of the end Vampire Reign Series like me, let's all believe they will make a season 3 or a movie.
Also they don’t call Yurichiro “Yurichi” they call him “Yuu” or “Yu”
And they just call Yoichi “Yoichi”
Pay attention.
To be clear I enjoyed the rewatch despite its faults. From what I hear the manga doesn’t have most of the issues the anime does. I wouldn’t let this video damper your enjoyment at all. I made it for pure entertainment and not to shit on the series or nothing like that.
And hate to be that guy but it’s *Yuichiro
Pay attention. jk 🤭
In all seriousness I hope you atleast enjoyed parts of the video.
The anime yeah I agree a 4-5/10. The manga is a lot more better.
-SPOILERS-
It explains a lot more in the manga as most do but it sucks on how the anime changed and left out so much.
So I do recommend it.
i would for sure recommend anyone who has seen this to read the manga after it cuz imo the manga is where it starts to get amazing
Yesss the anime really doesn’t do justice to the manga :(
I’ve only watched seraph of the end like twice and that was years ago, it still will always have a place in my heart and I still regard it as one of my fav anime’s but I think the reason I refuse to rewatch it now is cuz I’m low key scared I’ll ruin the memory and past experience of watching if I rewatch it now.
6:31 it isnt jusy convenient and If you listen to Guren he knew that Yuichiro was coming although it should have been worded differently.
I have fun watching objectively bad anime most of the time, I like seeing flashes of greatness and thinking what could have been.
Agree, here, in some cases and like #Sukisho/syo? And merged with the games would have been amazing?
Bro they give you so much more information in the first chapter of the manga they kinda slacked on that in the anime 💀
There’s prequel novels that focuses on Gurens teen life that explain some of the plot holes on the anime
But it’s weird that they’re operating on that notion 💀
have you read the manga or even catastrophe at sixteen ??
I’ve only just watched this for the first time. I love it haha. Everything from the art style, voice acting. Everything criticised I see no issue 😆
i guess both our standarts rlly are just not that high
Me too! I actually enjoyed this series :D
I didn't even notice the problems at first glance!
i totally agree
If your wondering why the anime is like this is due AOT getting released in the same year
i feel like the reason we enjoyed the show was because the tropes that are present in the anime werent tropes back then. maybe.
Might be true, I tend to rewatch anime a lot. This one was just a very jarring difference to me.
I really want a season 3 or a movie with my childhood Seraph of the end Vampire Reign Series.
Manga and anime of Seraph series feel SO different: the manga doesn't skip a lot of things, itÄs still confusing sometimes but it gets explained later (waaay later xD)
1000% one of the best first eps was my first anime and fucking hell it was great the music the atmosphere all of it was made so perfectly
My childhood Seraph of the end Vampire Reign Series X my childhood Fairytail Weekly Shonen Magazine Series crossover.
…first of all, you watched it dubbed 😑
That’s the point. I don’t watch dubbed anime anymore. The point of me watching it dubbed was to see if I could enjoy it in the same way that I watched it originally. Which was dubbed back when I was in high school.
First of all the dub was pretty good dont say it wasn’t cuz I watched it and there’s way more positive than negative so please stfu about dubbing I ain’t know if ur Asian but if your not it’s giving wannabe Asian
@@Meow_ey …first of all, it’s dubbed.

season one is pretty fast so , its okay
season two got pretty good
manga is just too amazing to not get season 3
Yoichi I think his voice is meant to sound kinda wimpy and soft that’s literally his whole character-
I remember the show being shit so I dropped it after the first few episodes lol
Manga is better
I just did what would make for the most fun video (watching it in dub was one of those choices)
I think based off what you’re saying it sounds like this anime should get a remake that actually makes an effort to flesh out the foundations of this post apocalypse rather than just thrusting us in it with no real understanding of how it works.
*this is that annoying comment telling you that its your fault you watched it in dub*
Code Awkward!!!!???!!!! So proud mane shii
you know they should READAPT seraph of the end (kinda like what they did too hunter x hunter) but just let the director take more time or something, too polished everything too those few good scenes we got
Awesome video!! Your reviews are always so exciting. I love that coupon code too!! 😍 LOVE IT
MANGA - If you start it off with the manga and continue like that, it goes much better in my opinion. Alos that walking into the sea thing never happened in the manga, I don't know what that was-
ANIME - If you really wanna watch the anime, the sub is much better than the dub for this one, as the characters have more emotion and even the beginning isn't as cheesy and tropy.
Also he isn't called Yuuichi, Yoichi is a different character, and they call him Yuu like 'you' because Yuuichiro is his name.
it was so good because we remember only the good parts
I watch it for shinoa shes one of my waifus
This anime really gets carried by the visuals, though i think it gets noticeably worse in season 2?
An anime I enjoyed when I was younger was S.A.O and deadman wonderland . Both were dubbed and my god I can't believe I liked those shows , they're good for 10 year olds though.
On the other hand , you guys should watch Odd Taxi , it's extremely underrated this season!

S.A.O was not for kids lol there was a rape scene in one of the seasons a lot of massacre and murder the latest season was even crazier like- nope not for kids
This is exactly how i felt with it from watching then and now
It’s the fact that most of the plot holes are explained in the manga but there isn’t a third season so….
I have many complains about the recent arc Shibuya arc but before it everything was very interesting
I think the ending of it in the anime was just there to have an ending in manga it doesn't just goes like that like everyday every once 1-2 minutes demon takes over the control of Yuu and it said to be that its been happening for days or smth ig later on he learned how to control it I dont fully remember
But also the dub sucks seriously everything the characters says feel so cringe to hear especially the specific words they chose to voice that's why the sub is better
I think the Anime and manga is good not for everyone ofc it may be boring or in manga case complicated also has some scenes that hasn't been explained and some characters just disappears in the manga after some point and some parts doesn't even makes really sense but somewhere in the manga explains what Anime didn't Idk that's all I can say
The anime leaves a lot of things out, also, seraph of the end is a sequel, it’s the sequel of “catastrophe at sixteen” and I’m guessing that a lot more things are explained in there, but the anime leaves off a lot of thing that were in the manga, it also adds things that weren’t in the manga, which gets annoying, but the series is pretty solid, there’s some times when the writing gets iffy, but my man kagami literally saves it every time at the vary last moment 💀
yes i love the last part😂
i guess my standards really are that low i absolutely loved the show my opinion on it hasn't changed since i watched it and so my standarts hasn't changed either

I love Seraph, but just like vampire bund and rogue hero, i still hope for akashic records to continue, they start you on an interesting story, then they are gone
The manga is so much better!
I also want a anime adaptation crossover when it's with my childhood Fairytail Weekly Shonen Magazine Series.
the manga has gotta be one of my favorite manga ever. Now don't get me wrong the anime is good but it's not great and it has way to much lost potential. also, every time you said Yoichi instead of Yuichiro it hurt 😭
It is the best anime ever. The manga is fire. Cant wait for s3.
So, yeah. Even though there's so much wrong with it, it kind of makes it good(?).
luckily dragonball OG was my first anime and the first 30ish episodes are still good
so what im gathering is that the dub is just awful, both in how it sounds and how things are poorly/stiffly translated, and how they did my boy yoichi dirty.
also! you'll be glad to hear that the whole 4-month timeskip is not in the manga at all, and the walking in the ocean scene was completely invented for the anime.
you also might be glad to hear that starting like. literally DIRECTLY after the end of the anime, yoichi suddenly starts getting interesting development, guren's backstory is explained (maybe a little... over-explained... sorry, cant help being a guren hater), and mika permanently groups up with the squad.
Manga and the show are way different. I recommend
I say I used to like Naruto alot but growin up I still don't get how my young self thought it was a good idea to watch 100 episodes of Naruto
10:41 Don’t compare a goat to a lamb but I agree on Yoichi’s voice being bad at certain times in dub
18:36 That’s Code Geass lol
But in all seriousness, I like this video
🧢
@@AwkwardlyAnimated
OK, so the thing about Code Geass is that it’s trying to appeal to everyone to look cool and make money, don’t believe this then, why do you think they dumb down the battles, or the mechas being barely explained and even it trying to be an epic tale of revenge, highschool comedy, and a political drama all at the same time?
He's not bad!!!"
Man I like the manga a lot!!
Thank you!
I tried to watch this, got to episode 4 or 5 and I was just like nope 😂
This manga and anime sure has its ups and downs... but deep down I stay for Shinya. Goated character in an alright show.
yoichi will find you
This anime WAS one of my favorites when I still hadn’t watched as many.
I hate new Animes unless they are good made this one i dont like aswell we Prefer Buffy animated series and blade Heck even spawn hellsing trinity Blood i prefer aswell x die Serie zenki igano kabamaru Bloody curse of yoma rakshasa Street rumiko Animes mermaid Forest mermaid scar Soul Land ost saying seiya Magic knight rayearth escaflowne fushigi genbu and yuugi for Me
Submarine no .5 was even better or casshern bagi etc
20:36 respect for what
i still love this anime
26:58 Nope the manga is the same, except it has a 3 month timeskip
How can such peak manga be turned into what ever this anime was
The dub... My ears are bleeding... 💀
I don't hate every dub out there but this one is just terrible-
I used to only watch iskai only like the 1 season one and loved them and spent hours thinking about what if I was sent and what I would do change the world and try to get back and think about my allies role in my plans and etc.
My hero academia, it’s not a bad anime it’s actually pretty cool but I just don’t know why I loved it so much the first time I watched it
I watched Pokémon as a kid and now i don’t watch it anymore it is just dumb how they throw away the main character and replace him
In your opinion what are some anime that didn't age well? I'm curious to hear your thoughts. 🤔
Use code: "AWKWARD" for 15% off on your next Lootcrate - loot.cr/AWKWARD
berserker anime lol. That straight up got cancelled, its not even considered as existing to a lot of people.
SAO wasn't exactly like I remembered...
The reflection
@@aldutroix3944 He's probably talking about the adaptation .
I haven't rewatched Angel beats but, I know it's going to be bad.
Ah, not a fan of Yoichi I see. Fun fact, Yuu x Yoichi is the third most popular ship in the entire franchise. Let that sink in 😮
1st ep cried, then we cried tears of frustration and boredom by the next?
Nice lootcrate plug
When did they call Yu Yuichi ?? His nicknames always been Yu and he’s always referred to as that or Yuichiro
The manga is a milion times better
I hope for a remake 🙏🙏🙏
10:27
they call him yuu which to me is confusing but lol
Why do I remember sausuke dying in season 2?
You liked it before, but now your "Taste" has improved and you dont like it now. So is this an honest review or a biased review?
The power of suggestion is VERY VERY strong, we all have. But you started video with a voice saying it doesn't look good. It sounds like this is the case.
Bleach is my favorite piece if media/entertainment. KUBO is an amazing writer and Artist his message, the story, and character are TOP NOTCH. And due to ONE video that was critical of bleach for points that are objectively wrong. Then In Lock step the Anitube community smashed it. So it happens
Manga is better
there are reason for the waiting of the humans and how did the humans got there weapons what is the origin of the vampires how the vampire society works how about the human society before and after the apocalypse why did the apocalypse happen in the first place
you can know them from the manga and LN Ichinose guren's catastrophe at 16
The dub a meme tbh 💀💀
