Leave the white one as is and clean it up,put a shine on it,tinker with the engine to give it good performance and enjoy the ride. A good wipe down inside with known good products and spiff it up. Even a exterior shine will produce good results. Enjoy the nostalgia of the car. There are probably that many cars of that model on the road, give onlookers something to talk about as you and Chad take it for a spin to town and back. Need to get some BAD CHAD license plates designed to put on the front of the cars as you and Chad test drive and sport around. A rear sign on the back glass that says " Jolene On Board ".😉

Chad, Jolene and Nate, It was so great to see the 1936 Hudson Terra Plane dusted off and the 305 cu. in. V8 fired up and moving under its own power. If some individual wanted to buy the 1961 Volvo 544 after Nate gets it running and driving . As long it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to male her run down the road . Instead of chopping and modifying the Volvo .I would consider moving on to a new owner . For great cruiser. A rare car like the Volvo running and driving and stopping is worth $ 10,000 all day long . No I wouldn't interested in it . Because I had my time with 2 1950 trucks.
That Hudson has tons of character, and a great look! In fact I think it might be my favorite Bad Chad kustom ever. Love the patina, and everything about it.

Idea!....For the Volvo. Either keep it original and put some paint on it and clean the interior (Floor looks to be the only real issue) or just customize the ugly front end then throw some paint on it. I would say the target is to take an old car and turn it into a driver for a younger adult for cheap. The front end just looks terrible. It looks like someone stuck a old milk truck front end on a PT Cruiser. See if you can leave the roof alone for once, only mess with front door seam forward, paint (I like the white or blue inside), clean the interior and just replace flooring. Fix necessary items.
The front predates both those vehicles.
Chad, I think you should surprise Nate by giving him the Hudson when you are finished with the build. He adores that car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man this car is Gangster. Great job Nate getting it running and all tge mechanicals on it. Dude you are a beast. I remember when Chad chopped this car and did all the work he did on it. Id see if someone wants to buy the volvo and if not id do a really cool paint job on it and let Nate do some mechanical work on it and make it a cool driver
Sell the Volvo. They are only original once. Someone will pay you $8K for it. Polish the paint and steam clean the engine bay will make it pop. If you want to burn energy hook into the Hot Wheels.
It would be a shame to cut the Volvo, It is a nice classic car that appears to be complete and worth alot as it is if running good.IMHO

Due to the reduced view through the front window from the chopped roof, I'd lower front springs for better forward visibility.
For the Volvo ....
Had a '60 544 back in the day. Loved that little car, it was a blast to drive. Wish I still had it.

I think you guys should give Nate this car as a surprise. He works long and hard on it so that’s my opinion. I love it. I would rock it myself.❤
It's called Shine Juice, It's not just linseed oil, it's also mineral spirits Its a 1:1 mix. What you should really do, is clean it really well, then spray clear on the whole car, that's what I would do, If I were you Chad. That way you can really protect the patina, without it rusting any further!
Natan has become very fond of that car, You should surprise the heck out of Natan and give him or at a least sell it to him for what you put into it.
Btw leave the volvo original. Although it would look good chopped. It's your car your decision Chad.
Chad, what I really want to see is you continuing on your dream car... don't start a new project. keep going...
I think just a beige (broken-white) paintjob on the Volvo would look great. It would compliment the interior.

I feel that Chad has the same quality of staff as when he was on discovery. Saying that -- he needs to do a Bad Chad original build. Make something amazing from nothing like before. With Nate and Doug, Jo and Chad you could do it again.

When everyone expects you to ZIG you should ZAG. I’m thinking of your Volvo 544. All agree, it’s beautiful as is... but you’re a custom builder, so that’s a dilemma. How about a ‘custom restoration’? It will look the same only better and you won’t need to cut it up at all. Take off the tacky chrome strips, fill in the holes and paint. Add sexy wheels and tires. Let Nate do a gentle upgrade on the engine and tart-up the dash! You’re done!

As a Volvo owner. Please, please keep that classic the way it is. Get it in good running condition and enjoy it as it is. Or sell it. It's a classic and should stay like it is. Just my belly button......

Volvo lower the side panils 2"& cut raise side panil 2" total of 4" if nothing else❤(leave the hood exactiy where it is)

Chad, they have a temp control for that fan. It will open the circuit when it hits like 180 or 190 and allow the fan to come on. It goes into a water jacket.
A Volvo PV 544 sport from 1961 in original condition and low miles, are quite rare even in Sweden. Don't do anything like ceiling lowering on it, because all value is lost.
My late father's 1st car was a blue 4 door 1936 Hudson Terraplane, straight six, I believe. Somewhere, I have a black and white pic of him with the car. Very cool.
I've looked for one for years that I can afford, to restore, so far still looking. Looking forward to see the build.

. We need another wild one like the Bugatti Hauler. Talk about doing the important work no one else would do. Something only Bad Chad's imagination would make. Speaking of Bugatti - Dig this - the back end lines of this car reminded me of a Chiron. 21:57 Widen the roof or whatever and build the backend out like a Chiron! Search, Profile Bugatti Chiron Image and compare to this car. Just sayin'. It'd be fun to see Chad scare everybody with his creativity again whether on this car or whatever car he does next - I like when he dances on that creative tight rope!

I think That body style Volvo is best left alone and kept up. I always wanted one but never saw any at those times. A buddy of mine at the time had one in 1962 and I fell in love with um .

$15 on eBay, temp adjustable fan controller. Looks like the trans cooler is on the wrong side of the radiator.
