    Rather than trying to rocket the waste into space, or dumping it in the ocean, how about we put all that smarts together and build reactors that can use this as fuel? I seem to remember hearing about some Thorium reactors that just keep using the fuel till its no longer radioactive and is just lead. Seems that might a better idea that a rocket that can just blow up, or filling the oceans.

      “We” also fuck billions of people over. Stop pretending that ‘Merica is one big self aware entity... its made of hundreds of millions of people who are all doing different things and have conpletely different values. Some of them definitely suck and should be shot or hung. A lot of them. A lot of the ones who make bigger decisions in the gov or big corporations. Some of them are awesome and genuinely do want to and do succeed at helping many people. Some people even have a moral problem with the concept of charity and its a fair argument. But ‘America’ isnt doing anything because its not a ‘thing’, its just a line drawn in the sand with a stick that people live in...

      It is good to use the radioactive waist to use it in special radioactive batteries which researchers should design to use it in mobile phones and cars that will work whiteout charging since the radioactive battery will charge the maine battery of the mobile all the time .ie the mobile battery will contains two parts one the inner charger radioactive battery and the outside battery . and for electric cars the same thing

    I can appreciate the health problems that the military workers have since in 1965 I was intentionally exposed to copious amounts of asbestos along with three other young petty officers. We stood watch for 6 hours at a time in a room that was so clouded with asbestos you couldn't see the other end of the compartment. We were not given any protection except for a dust mask and goggles. We went home in the same uniform we were wearing during exposure. My wife's task was to pull out the larger particles out of my back where I couldn't reach. 24 years later I was diagnosed with a lung problem that would present itself as chronic bronchitis and two years later another doctor said I would be dead before I was 64, I'm now 74 so I can say he was wrong. Don't know what happened to the other three. I was exposed to asbestos 10 years after it was confirmed to be a carcinogen. Why would they do that? Since the officer who ordered us to stand the watch was about 15 years older than me, means he is probably dead. Elitist CIA ?

    • @Domi-cv7oo

      Why was the room filled with so much Asbestos? Was there stuff that released the asbestos inside? What was it?

    • @royoetting502
      @royoetting502 6 років тому +5

      Good question Domi. It was the missile compartment of the USS George Washington SSBN 598. The missile tubes were encased in asbestos about 1.5 inches thick as fire protection but was removed during the first overhaul The men removing it wore full pressurized suits. Why were we in there observing? We were ordered to.

    • @Domi-cv7oo
      @Domi-cv7oo 6 років тому +3

    • @royoetting502
      @royoetting502 6 років тому +4

      I was stationed on the GW for 5 years and we were in overhaul at Electric Boat in Groton CT. The GW was originally built in Groton and back then the subs could only go for about 4 years before refueling and while we were in for refueling we upgraded from the A1 Polaris missile to the A3 Polaris missile.

    • @Domi-cv7oo
      @Domi-cv7oo 6 років тому +3

      Must have been quite an experience, living on the first US SSBN ever. Its rather appalling to learn how the armed forces disregard the safety of its members. Asbestosis does usually take about 20 years to manifest after exposure, and you were exposed many times the quantity which it takes to develop it. You're very lucky to still be with us. It's a terrible and painful way to go, with many complications such as cancer and lung fibrosis. Seeing that the other symptoms haven't shown yet, you will likely only live with that chronic bronchitis. I hope you can enjoy your retirement despite this, sir.

      Ramon B Media it's interesting that you brought up that book. When Wade spoke about how awful the outside world is, it made me really step back and consider what type of world is actually being created. And what we are doing to protect the world that we have. This isn't hippie bullshit thinking. This is Ashley considering the fact that we live on an incredible planet, and we need it to sustain us until we are able to become multiplanetary. And it's the most habitable planet in the nearby solar neighborhood. It's worth not trashing.

    I am not amazed. The dome is not hidden either, it is just remote. It is on Enewetak atoll, east side, near Runit. Nuclear waste is still radioactive and perfectly suitable for energy generation for tens of thousands of years. Small quantities of waste material encased in thick lead shells can be used to create long lasting passive energy generators. Which can be used to power things. Imagine having a battery which will last 30.000 years. While it may not power your home, it will reduce the cost. And it's perfectly suitable for small electronics to be energy independent. Street lights for example. Or car electronics. It would work the same way as those RTG's they put on deep space probes because solar panels are useless in the outer solar system.

So if our military thought it was too expensive then it sure as hell will be now. Plus you couldn’t get to bottom of tomb to seal so leakage is a surety regardless. You do know the earth has uranium in its soil already, pretty much world wide, so relax.. This planet as we know it will be here until the Lord Almighty returns (regardless of what man does to it) so put your trust in the LORD Jesus Christ so you don’t have to live in fear and wonder. You can be at peace knowing where your soul , like everyone else’s, will reside in the hereafter. This earth is temporary, eternity is not.......your choice. Ain’t GOD and his plan for us, made in his own image, wonderful!?
      Gosh people read the Bible and you can get it right. Why you were created, your free will to have a choice live on in eternity “with” the Lord or satan and his angels. I hope you make the most sensible decision, may GOD be with you all. You DONT have to worry. 🙏

      Fukushima was convenient though, the leakage from that reactor, covers all the goo that is seeping out of the Mariana-trench. Its rumored, that hundred's and thousands of tonnes of radio-active wase have been dumped into this 11km deep oceantrench: The pressure there was expected to be massive enough to subdue any radiation from spreading. In truth, the pressure, broke the canisters that held the waste, which is now freely flowing with sub-streams through the pacific ocean.

      Jebediah Kerman unless you send it very far out, it will end up being worst. It will fall back into earth atmosphere due to gravity and most radioactive material doesn't burn up and it will be uncontrollable when it enters our weather system making it more widespread. Even if you send it very far out, there is chances the rocket explodes or it there is any leaks which will be very devastating

      Conquerer 44
      It might be hard to believe, but the total amount of nuclear waste produced by humans since we started experimenting with nuclear energy reactors, and processing uranium for use in atomic weapons is suprisingly small.
      The total amount is:
      "Over the past four decades, the entire industry has produced about 62,500 metric tons of used nuclear fuel. If used fuel assemblies were stacked end-to-end and side-by-side, this would cover a football field about seven yards deep." The URL is www.nei.org/resourcesands..."
      When you consider how small an area a football field is, I doubt we could ever run out of space for waste.
      I should add that the radioactive water used in modern reactors goes through hundreds of use cycles before it is considered too radioactive for continued use in a reactor, and that after that level is reached, the water is still used to store nuclear waste in pools.
