- A Denali trip for Mother's Day, yes please!!! It was opening day at the Denali Princess and Mary got us in. We stayed at the resort for the night. Kind of pre-season.

Oh thank you ☺ Mary and I usually split meals and we did end up throwing away food, such a shame, they didn't have refrigerators. They kind of work off grid down there though, so I can see them not wanting all of the extra appliances. Mary's dessert was delicious I was trying to keep from eating it. 🥰😝
What a treat! I just got home from the pond and sat down for some lunch and see what's up on UA-cam and there is a new video from you! When I was a teenager in the 80's my family and I stayed a few nights at a hotel in Denali. I remember how beautiful it was! We also did a rafting adventure tour on the Nenana river. Thank you for sharing your adventures with everyone. You live in a beautiful place!
How fun! I wish I had come in the 80's like I wanted to, I would have loved to see the difference between then and now. Rafting is quite the adventure, it may not be so bad this year, the water is down, but when that water is high it looks insane! I really do love it here and the fact that Denali is only a couple of hours away. 🥰
I stayed at the Princess Lodge back in 2016 on a Princess Cruise/Tour. Best rib eye steak I ever had was there and we saw Denali in all of her glory. Stayed at the McKinley lodges last year and our bus tour had to turn around at mile 43. Saw Denali again as the weather was perfect. Love that park and all the amazing hikes I've done there. Can't wait to go back.
That sounds amazing! Did you know that only 30% of the people that visit Alaska get to see Denali? We are up and down the Parks Highway all summer and rarely see it! It is so tall it creates it's own atmosphere. Usually Cloudy. The Denali Park Road should be open in 2026. The tours all the way back have been cancelled due to a landslide.
✍Hello Alaskan Lady Bears...Sherry I really like the music🎶that was playing at the first part of the video not the intro but the starting of it🎶and all thru the video🎶Oh my goodness the mountain range scenery is so beautiful 🏔...awesome I can't believe it Next weekend is Memorial Day 🇺🇸 weekend already. Usually the start of the summer season but its still chilly and wet☔ My bladder surgery is 5/24 so I hope I'll be able to enjoy the holiday with my girls and son-in-law. What a great piano player🎶 he seemed to be having fun just what the restaurant needed for entertainment 💖 I'd love to go away for the weekend but we don't have anyone to watch my fur baby🐾She also has "separation anxiety" really bad. When she goes to the groomer we have to take her"water in her bottle" cause she won't drink water but only her water.🐾..not spoiled much ha ha ha !! What a nice restaurant. Hello Joyce! That 3 second clip, caused a copyright issue, it wasn't even the song they thought it was. It was fixed, thank goodness. 🎶🎵 I love all the music that Epidemic Sound has to offer, it takes me a long time to go through it. I was up until 2am last might trying to figure out music for the Denali video. I am trying to figure out what happened to May too! Mary and I have a driving trip to Anchorage. I wish you well on your surgery, what a weekend to do it 🤕 I hope it is a quick healing process. The piano player at Fannie Q was amazing. I wonder if he does the dinner shows that they offer there? OMG…I was at Denali Princess lodge exactly one year ago (to the day). Same piano player at Fannie Qs. So fun…Denali was beautiful🤍🤍🤍

It was a really fun weekend, I think that dinner set me up for wanting more pork, lol. I bought a lot at Costco. 😅

Oh Gosh! I don't envy you, maybe years ago I would have loved it, I used to help my Mom's family plant and harvest every year, it was so fun.

The Yoga T-Shirt would be a nice sleep shirt. Nice that you were able to visit before the tourists come and crowd you guys out for your "short summer season".
I was tempted, I really need a new winter sleep shirt. I am so glad we did this, we may make it a Mother's day tradition 🥰
The Farmer's Market was what I looked forward to the most but I still enjoyed them all. There were 4 or 5 during the summer back in the day. In the past protective dykes were built up or made for flooding. Mary, there used to be senior citizens that played checkers and cards outside on benches there. I don't recognize the buildings you show on this video. They must be newer than the one I last saw. But it looks so much better than the last time I saw Denali in person.
We love the Farmer's Market for sure! The Princess has been there since 1987, but has been built up a lot over the years. I remember when I first moved here that whole area was pretty bare, now we call it Glitter Gulch! I am not sure when it happened but the whole road and all the shops all went in over a years time.
Love those hanging basket flowers. I bet is a lot of work growing them during the cold season. That northern light topaz is gorgeous in color.
I looked at the 2 week forecast and as long as nothing changes we will be putting flowers out early. 🌞🦋🌷🥰 I wish the camera would have caught the color of that topaz jewelry. I am sure I have a necklace from 2 years ago when we went to Denali with my oldest daughter.
That looks like a really neat place to visit. They have thought of everything. 😊

It really was, it was fun to experience so much weather in one day along a 30 mile stretch. The cabins in the video are the Denali Park office headquarters. 😉☺

Nope, I haven't been feeling right, I am not getting into the car with another driver. The Farmer's Market starts in mid May as long as they can run water and there is no snow on the ground. Speaking of giveaways we will be doing one soon! It just hasn't been the right time. You can camp just about anywhere in Alaska, but you gotta let people know where you are, people tend to disappear up here. 😨 Thanks for watching 🥰

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay! I will take the lodge look over any fancy hotel! The food at the Brewery looked yummy, you ordered everything I would have (I don't know why but I just love soft pretzels) Thanks for showing the web address @the northern lights shop, I purchased a pair of earrings! I could have stayed @ your cabin-like room for a week with my cross-stitch, books and all those shops & been perfectly happy! 💐🍸👍
The lodge really is beautiful! They put the employees in the oldest building though, the beds were awful, LOL. I can see why that brewery is so packed all the time, it really did have amazing food. I love the pretzels too, but they really did mess up our tummies, I think Mary and I both have a gluten allergy. Isn't that jewelry amazing? I know I have a set somewhere, Mary tends to take my jewelry and put it in the jewelry box in her room 😅 The front desk was surprised we were checking out, I think most people stayed 2 nights. 😅🌞💖🥰
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs I worked for Princess from 2016 to 2020 pre-covid, I won't bad mouth my former employers, I respect the workers too much for that. Though there was this one coach driver none of us at Ted Stevens really liked, I wonder if she still works with them
@forexed8948 I think Covid may have changed a lot with Princess, they sold a lot of things, reorganized. I wouldn't be surprised if she is gone.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs I'm not supposed to be mean, but I'd hope so, that driver was not a nice lady. Plus she had at least 1 incident a month, we had to help her back up. It's a funny thing when the company you work for tells you to "go play in traffic".

Yes! in 2015 President Obama renamed the park and mountain Denali, which was the original native name for "The Great One".
since you were in the mountains ,what was your elevation ?
The elevation at the park entrance is 1746 feet. We went in to the park and drove up to around 3200 feet. The highest part of the road is 3733, but Denali is over 20,000 feet, that's what makes it so spectacular, you can see the whole thing from top to bottom!
