Greenspaces Reduce Gun Violence

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful joined Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, AES Indiana and community leaders to announce the findings of a recent study regarding the impact of community greenspaces on gun violence.
After analyzing 34 previously-blighted public spaces that had been transformed into vibrant community spaces, the study found a 12% reduction in gun violence within a half mile radius of the sites.
