Oasis: Supersonic (Mat Whitecross, Full Documentary) - 2016

- Covering the blistering three-year period between May 1993 and August 1996 when the band went from freshly-signed upstarts to pop culture poster boys, SUPERSONIC is an affectionate and unapologetic nostalgia trip to rival Shane Meadows’ superlative Made of Stone from 2013. Comprising explicitly frank, occasionally profound first-hand interviews with Liam and Noel Gallagher (who each exec produce), as well as the other ex-band members and various key players and hangers-on, all laid over a wealth of electrifying, sometimes incriminating archive footage, it’s essentially Oasis: The Early Years as told by those who lived it.
Possibly the last of dying breed, the first time I heard slide away at I was fifteen, my day revoled around trying to make make music! And were I come from in Middlesbrough is much more rough than were they come from, but they inspired all of us, the songs, the passion, it's always summer when Listen to definitely maybe, best band ever
An incredible doco. Noel is surprisingly witty, articulate and humble. I was a hater in the day, more into Metallica as a young guitarist but I have learnt to appreciate what a magical band they were...
My first ever music gig was oasis at Loch lomond. To this day one of the best days of my life. Daft teenager from Glasgow and I soaked it up
I moved into a new house, previous owner left a Loch Lomond ticket. Mine now 😅😅😅
Stuart same mate got into them as a mad teenager when Definitely Maybe came out . Went to Loch Lomond and it blew me away. Had ticket for Saturday along with my mates ,but sneaked in on the Sunday along with thousands others. I remember a guy in a motorbike helmet lifting me over the wall ,but as he did I kicked off his visor from his helmet. I said sorry and he was cool. I will remember that weekend and seeing them at Glastonbury for ever.👍
Me too fkn magic day👌💯🏴💙💙💙
mine was knebworth .... happy days

And you know what..it was history right there right then.. Oasis weren't a band.. they were a feeling.
Is the fucking reel dvd video !!!?
If ya know, my goodness, you still know !
Love that ✊🏻
Nah. That was the creepy fella intruding your back passage.
Oasis were just another band.
I'm sorry for your bad experience.
I was never a great fan of Oasis. But anyone can see it was lightning in a bottle. The mid 90’s with the Britpop explosion, it really was a moment in time that will never be replicated.
The thing that really came across to me from this doc is that Noel is a true music lover, who was obsessed by it from an early age. That still comes across now, he often talks like a normal fan about artists he likes, the same as he would if he was still an unknown roadie, it’s never left him and never will.
Liam on the other hand, yes he’s good looking, charismatic, cooler, he was ‘cock of the school’, but he didn’t love music the same way - even he says he wasn’t interested in it before he got ‘hit with a hammer’.
I’m not saying he doesn’t like music, but not the way Noel does.
Noel also loves different styles like a true music lover, he was into the rave scene, while Liam has very narrow tastes, basically classic rock and nothing else.
I also don’t think they were ever THAT close - yes they were brothers, and have the family bond - but they didn’t spend much time together socially or have much in common before Noel joined The Rain.
Liam even says Noel ‘was a bit of a stoner, bit of a loner, always playing guitar’.
They were brought together by the band imo, and by the time they split, Noel had done everything he wanted to do with Oasis and had had enough of Liam’s ego. I can’t see a reunion any time soon, and the older they get the less likely it becomes.
I love The Stone Roses but it seems in retrospect it was mainly for money, and The Gallaghers don’t need money, definitely not Noel anyway.
I saw Oasis in 2000 and already felt like the best years were behind them anyway, they still made some good tunes in the 00’s to be fair, but it was never the same after ‘98, even though Gem and Andy Bell were probably better musicians than Bonehead and Guigs.
I actually think they were best with Tony McCarrol on drums.
I agree m8@@TwoBlokesOneBall
Brilliant band , amazing front man and songwriter. Seen them twice at their height and it blew me away. Being a teenager when they came out was best time of my life. 🙏
Ditto m8
You two blow my mind total xxx
Live forever 🎉
Owe it all to Owens mix
“I’m not interested in how you play….as long as you look the part”
Tony’s lawyers should see that…!
Knowing exactly what happened with Noel and Liams dad and the way he treated his own kid's and wife was the lowest and most despicable move the gutter press could have done.
Their dad and the press were only interested in causing a massive scene and to try and get a violent reaction from Noel and Liam just to sell more shity papers and the dad just wanted people to feel sorry for him, so he could say look how bad my family treats me, it was a truly pathetic move on his part and an even more pathetic move by the papers.
All he did was prove to the world what a liar and waster he really was, he just wanted a slice of the pie and the money he thinks he's owed just because he's their dad .
"I miss my bird" could have been a millionaire living the dream, probably not even with her anymore
I miss youse both so much come on over both to my place we can work it out! I know sister Sandra ❤❤❤ 😂😂😂 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
"There are people that are cut out for it and people who aren't. He probably just went "you know this is not for me" either that or his bird must have been fit as fuck"
Last big rock stars❤
Last in what way? The #RollingStones are still going!
downhill soon as they sacked tony mccarroll.. sound and spirit was diminshed and never the same again.
😲Utter bollocks man every oasis song is brilliant👌even Liam and Noels solo stuff kicks ass aswell✌️💯🏴💙💙💙💙💙
@@davidmxk38nothing you state is factual or relevant
Shut up your talking complete shit
I wouldn’t say it went straight downhill after he left, but I would say it was never as good as it was when McCarroll was in the band.
they had the second best album in UK history immediately after sacking him. I couldn’t imagine Mccarroll on Champagne supernova or wonderwall LOL
1:00:26 she has a wonderful story to tell
anyone know the song at 1:09:15 ??
Better people
@@michaeltreacy470 cheers mate
It was Joel from Brian Jonestown Massacre that got you the meth 😂
1:02:49 Liam is fucking hilarious 😆
Great but…Misses out so much ..the real people, first Glastonbury etc
“You start a band with the best intentions, of just trying to get a big telly and a fit bird, and the next thing is everybody hovering around you with leather manbags full of shit for you to sign” 😂 That’s hilarious the Gallaghers rule
Оазис это часть британской истории и культуры ! Браво Оазис!😊😊😊😊😊
The Manchester Monkees.
His dad was beaten himself because Noel was the spitting image
Rubbish their Dad was ok for them when they went back to work for hiim when they needed monies.....the story about their Dad is not strictly true and is blown out of all proportion
