Sometimes, it's hard blending those other Plug ins and other keyboard sounds. These sounds blend well done in the MPC world. And Zzounds, I love. I bought a 8 string guitar, 7 string guitar, Jazz guitar, Variax guitar, 3 amps,KRK monitors, Zoom H6, AKAI MPC X, Sterling 5 String bass, Fishman Fluence pickups, and Helix Floor, (S88 from NI, from Sweetwater, all in 2 1/2 years. Yes, I'm Flagship Studio Ready!!!
It's always great to find equipment that brings them nostalgic vibes back, good stuff!
I’m picking one up on Black Friday.
Thank you for sharing!
Very cool ! Thanks for your balanced overview. 👍 It communicated to me very well, in basic impression & 'take' on (With no 'mistake' on.) 😁
Pienso lo mismo y me alegro mucho que te lo hayas quedado. A mi me paso lo mismo. Abrazo argentino desde Alemania!
I love my 61 traded in my x
I did the same thing 😅
I love your videos bro I used to make bests on keyboards too The live 2
is my first MPC
Thanks Jamal!! Yeah I did get an MPC until about four years ago. It was all keyboards all day! 👊🏾
What's going? I'm a fan of your channel, I have a question, can you sample and chop directly to the keys like you could on the older workstations like the Triton, the The ASR10 or EPS16? I don't want to used the pads on the MPC Key61? I'm use to the keyboards as well, I've only seen videos sampling directly to pad. If there is a way can you show us- Thanks
Love mines.
I have a Kronos 73 and a Fantom 7. Nothing beats my go to setup though. The Force and Modx6+. Nothing touching that combo in my opinion. Now if Akai makes a Force 61...👀
Force 61 would be my absolute dream!
I'm new to this stuff and I keep hearing how great the workflow on the Force is compared to the MPC. Not sure how or why that is though. Something about an arranger view?
Loving the information fam , Big Co of Vendetta checking in and showing support. So should I get one ?
What’s good V-Detta!! I’m loving this keyboard…so hell yeah!! 😂 click the link below and let your cash go!! 😎👊🏾
Thanks for the reply back and consistent good info . Holla
Nice
The sounds are great bro, they're not clean on purpose, they're geared more to LOfi, however when I want they to sound clean, I just go into the sound parameters that I'm using and add "Color" to them, try it, I bet you'll be impressed with the results
I just got it. First of all I don’t like I gotta transfer samples, and that I cannot do that wirelessly. Like Bluetooth. Secondly, I cannot connect Bluetooth headphones. Third, my iPad recognizes and will pair Bluetooth. But GarageBand won’t. The synth sounds are great, but need tweaked. And for $1500 this should have weighted keys.
Zzounds is the best for all your gears needs , I have bought all my gears from them last 3 yrs.
Facts! 👊🏾
Dope. Short comings aside, it seems like most people are generally satisfied with the MPC Key 61. As a Fantom owner, it is everything I wanted out of the pads and sequencer. That said, I am still holding out. Definitely will be watching...
I have a fantom 6, but I still ended up getting the MPC Key61, The sequencer is more user friendly.
@@flossondatrack8861 How do you feel about the differences in sound? So far, I like what I hear. The pads alone are enough, but no time stretching in the Fantom, is shameful.
@@VIRALBEATS360 I kind of feel guilty liking the MPC Keys61 as much as I do after spending so much on the Fantom6. I basically use them together. I run the Fantom through the MPC sequencer, because can control the Fantom, so you can get the Fantom sounds in the MPC Key.
@@VIRALBEATS360As far as the sound goes, I wouldn’t listen to some of these claims about the sounds not being good. Yes Roland has better sounds , and importantly MORE sound available, but that’s to be expected they’ve been around for decades. Akai is playing catch-up in that department. But don’t think the sounds on the MPC Key do not sound good, because you can make absolute bangers with this keyboard. It’s also a sampler so, you can either buy sample expansions from famous keyboards or just rip the sounds straight from the Keyboard you want. I ripped my ASR 10, Polybrute, Fantom6 and Roland D-50. I love my roland 6 for the sounds but the Key61 for everythin.
@@bryantwalley 1 wouldn’t say way ahead.
Yeh! 88-keys would be dope, especially for strings and piano. Disk streaming instead of waiting for stuff to load is something that needs to happen too. That's one thing that Naitilus and Kronos does well. Not gonna lie, the MPC Keys 61 is tempting.
Do you have a Roland Fantom? Because I’d submit that the MPC/Force can *EASILY* hold their own with their new plugins.
Size of the keyboard is fine that’s all good but when I push the key, I don’t expect my sound back to change from a from A-to B
I thought about it severals times, However, I just wish it was stand alone with a speaker That would of been the ULTIMATE buy for my studio...
Why would you need a speaker in a studio?
@@JJ42072 Meaning a speaker on each side of the MPC 61 keyboard like MPC live II although I have a studio it would be a great all in one piece to take to someone else studio that way I can either audition my tracks to that particular artist that lookn to buy beats without connecting the keyboard to their hardware or box (computer) You cant trust everyone these days The game is cold but fair
Once Akai make it possible for the Key 61 and My MPC live 2 Sequencers to Merge/ integrate via USB.. I’ll Replace my Arturia Controller.. I don’t want my live 2 collect dust if I purchase a 61 keys.. this way I can place my live on my turntable stand etc. and the board in the workstation stand.
Yours Maddie came with plug-ins. All the sounds included. I had to download them just so you know that’s all.
🤔🫡
elbow, you could have bought the plug in pack and used the force, that's what i did, and i can attach the force to my 88 key korg krome. then you heard the great sounds, and have almost the same access to all the sound effects as the MPC Keys minus the strip which is an addon to the studio mpc, so you dont think they will ever do a force keyboard?
any way enjoy.
I bought it the very first day it released from Guitar Center. I knew you were going to cop Elbow, even when you made the video saying you weren’t lol
Y’all know me to well! 😂😇
It was just too sweet to refuse.
Cool bruh I have 2500 and Touch sitting. X , 61 in my Stu and Live ii for portability . They all have a purpose. It’s a lifestyle is what I convince myself😂😂😂😂
That would be the first if they came out with a MPC keys 49 I dont know about a 25 but that would be crazy too. Never has there been a 49 or 25 key workstation stand alone
@healthymusic50 If there was a Force Keys 61, would you have preferred that?
Oh hell yeah 😅
Does anyone see a logically reason to replace an Akai Force with the MPC Key 61? I thought I would enjoy utilizing the 64 pads on the Force but.....not really.
Hey, my question is, seeing though you already have multiple mpc’s, and the mpc key has the same sounds , why not choose a montage/Roland/ phantom over the mpc key 61 if you like the workstation feel ?
I chose the 61 because a like the MPC sequencer and work flow. I’m going to get the Fantom as well and test it out. But the key was first on my list of keyboard “workstations” 👊🏾
@@marcuselbow ok so you more love the workflow and the nastalga of the equipment
Man I see you rocking that Memphis Grizzlies hat 🧢🦾🦾
Love them youngsters! I’m still H-Town all day but yeah I love the hat as well! 😂
@@marcuselbow yessir. You brought up something that is so true. I remember wanting an ASR-10 along with an XP-50 back in the day. It was something about having those workstations. But i wish I kept my Alesis MMT-8 and a couple of other gear. Looks like Akai is bridging the future with the past.
😅I’m kinda shocked, I had to watch the video.
The keyboard comes with the note letter names?
Lol..No sir!
where can I get that T-shirt from
Right here my guy: elbowmediastudios.com/pages/the-ems-brand
Good afternoon Marcus, I need your help! I recently purchased the MPC Key 61 and it seems that the unit is defective or I’m not doing something correctly. My issue is that if I want to listen to sound thru just my headphones I have to disconnect my monitors and vice versa. I know on the X that this can be done without disconnecting anything. Is this just the way the Key 61 is or am I missing something? PLEASE HELP..there is a bridge nearby my house! LOL
🤔 this shouldn’t be happening Maurice! The 61 key headphone jack should always have sound no matter what! I will test this later but yeah it seems you may have a bad unit. Try reaching out to Akai before sending it back tho. 🙏🏾👊🏾
@@marcuselbow it was suggested that I use the Mackie Big Knob or any other monitor controller?
@@71251360 okay bro. I’m in the studio right now testing this out and yes you can listen to the headphones and monitors at the same time. 👊🏾
@@marcuselbow Marcus my apologies, i'm just see your reply. i currently live in japan, so at times i'll be a bit late getting back to you.
@@marcuselbow thank you Marcus for the info but I believe I posed my question incorrectly. What I'm trying to do is listen to each separately without having to disconnect one or the other and this is where someone suggested a monitor controller but I don't see how the controller would be doable?
I don’t know what you mean by the sounds not being up to par with anything the strings in the MPC are on par with $2000 VSTs I’ve used on film scores. The thing is the presets are minimal and just start you out and if you use it with the software the OP 4 for for example. Ridiculously deep and customizable.
🤔
@@marcuselbow its 9/10ths the thing is its more time consumingly difficult than full vsts with pc mouse etc.... even the warp time stretch feature on the new akais is incredibly deep and intelligently designed powerful. Even though everyone hates on it. And has CPU a calculator. ...all those menus at the bottom have to be utilized...LFO FILTERS, the amps that everything you use all it for what they're worth and you can get anything sound like anything it's pretty much limitless but it's not as quick as a mouse with 3000 gigs of RAM, and a keyboard why should a Swiss Army knife be a mechanic shop? Except it is.
@@marcuselbow I would say try the MPC key, 61 with the beats 2.0, software and open 0p4 in there and look at how deep it goes, For example. Theres been some serious sound designers that are pretty famous for some big companies that have been talking about it. Its lacking like it may be a feature a couple things one guy said (name escapes me) i'll try to find it in reference it for you ) from being one of the best synths hes ever seen.
