An Honest Review of Bread Beauty Supply | New Black Owned Hair Brand

- An honest review of Bread Beauty Supply on 4c Hair.
Bread Beauty supply is created by Maeva Heim, a black woman who set out to create a simplified natural haircare routine for hair types 3a-4c. The line currently includes “Hair Wash” a gentle milk cleanser, “Hair mask” a creamy deep conditioner, a hair oil, and a satin scrunchie.
In an interview with The Nylon magazine, she says she created the hairline while transitioning after a box of chemical relaxer exploded in her suitcase. Since then she’s been committed to creating simple routines for naturals. Her line is one of the first to emerge out of Sephora’s commitment to dedicate 15% of shelf space to black owned brands.

Currently there’s a GIVEAWAY of this gift set on my Instagram: instagram.com/p/CJEoruClytl/?igshid=1b6yn14pi9irp 🙌🏾 Good luck!!
I have tried it the shampoo was great the conditioner was so so for me the first time I tried it but as I keep using it, the slip was nice!
Packaging is PERFECT for those that are environmentally conscious and aware of how much the beauty industry contributes to the single use plastics that are destroying our earth. Bravo.
I love that you pointed that out and I agree! 🙌🏾
Although $30 is considered expensive, Im all the way here for black women venturing into having our own lines the high end world. If they can uptick their prices, so can we 🤷🏾♀️
Boom. Exactly!
PERIOD!!
100% agree!
Exactly!
but 30$ for just shampoo is kinda well..
Lord have mercy your hair has grown and looks so wonderful and healthy💯🌠🔥
Thank you so much Boikhutso! I should probably trim and do a length check!
@@LaToyaEbonyHair yes you should!
I was watching a video of her yesterday and I had to go back to see the date... Holy cow the growth 👏 🙌 😍
Cut it to get it all out
Bread is gonna have to wait, until I get some disposable coins because $30 per bottle/bag is above my income - black owned or not.
What!? What is going on?? These products are getting more and more expensive. Starting to feel exploited. Going to stick to homemade.
@@jazzip there are hair care brands that price that aren’t made for curly hair. it’s a luxury hair care brand
I just saw this brand today at Sephora. The sales person told me it was a good brand to try and that she loved it over some of the others they sold. Since I has never heard of it until today, I told her I would look at a review and come back. Thank you for doing this. I am all about supporting black owned hair care especially if it is owned by a Black woman. I am OK with the price, because sometimes we spend money frivolously on brands that are owned by people not in our community, and that stuff adds up. I see this as investment into you a woman like me.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I Love this!
Regarding getting all the product out. Hang the container up-side down from the top of the shower curtain, shelf, or caddy with a clothes pin or clamp.
Happy Wash Day,
BRILLIANT. 🙌🏾
Thats cool! I was gonna suggest scissors.
I was waiting for this video!!! I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED with the oil from this brand!! I use it head to toe (never tried it on my face though) and it makes my skin and hair feel so good. The scent of the wash and conditioner is supposed to be Fruit Loops and I LOVE! I'm hooked on Bread ❤️
Oooooo see I didn’t know what that scent was supposed to be. It smells SO good...dang, now I want a bowl of cereal. 😂
Time for the scissors when I get to the end
Lol
🤣🙌🏾
I totally agree with the scissors. I will cut a bottle in a minute if possible. As expensive as some of these products are, you deserve to get as much as possible or every last drop.🤣🤣🤣
Thank you! That was my 1st thought 🤔 ✂️ "cut it!"
Bread is going to have to wait until I get some Bread 😂💰but I like the results, hopefully they have a sale and I can grab something from their product line
Am I the only one who ❤ her smiles? I thought the oil is a perfume lol.. great video
🥰🥰🥰 Thank you! Yes, the oil seriously looks like perfume. I LOVE the packaging.
Great video as always 👌💞
Did my first ever length check today when I got my hair blown out for the first time this year. I big chopped in July after transition for a year. And I was so shocked at how my hair is honestly now the healthiest and longest it's been in years. And ur channel is partly to thank for that with the great advice and content you make. I am very appreciative of that. Wishing you and ur family a wonderful holiday season ❤️
Leezaan awww!!! 🥰 Thank you so so much for that. I wish you and your family the most beautiful holiday season ever. *hugs*
okay, the little dance break 8:30 was everything 🤣
🤣💃🏾💃🏾
These are products I cut open when I first get them and transfer them to squeeze bottles for easier application and so I can get EVERY BIT!
Thanks for the review of the 🍞beauty products. As a product junkie, I had already bought it but have yet to use it.
USE IT!! 😂 It’s like a little holiday present. They did a good job. Just leave the conditioner on for a few minutes before you rinse. It feels really thin at first, but it works!
Liked the packaging but both girls don’t have type 4 hair 🤔🤔 3c-4c????
I wish they added a tighter pattern too!
You should try Adowa Beauty...that’s a black owned brand that’s now in Sephora and their deep conditioner and leave in are 🔥🔥🔥
I never tried out this brand before for my type 4 curls I always buy affordable Curly hair care products for my type 4 curly hair
Your hair Zoe is flourishing! 😍
I have a few oils and love this as a hair perfume that's good for my hair and skin
Your hair looks very shiny and the braids. And you look great in that color mustard. If I don't see you another video before then, have a Merry Christmas!
Aww Merry Christmas!! Wishing your family all the joy in the world. 🎄
I didn't know Sephora sold Black haircare products
Let me watch before I click the purchase button at Sephora. Right on time
Merry Christmas..Your hair is so long and healthy with the shrinkage. Nice video and enjoy the holiday.
LOVE THAT BREAD 🥰
Look at Zoe coming thru!!! 😍 I know you said your hair felt really clean after shampooing...was it stripped tho? I'm looking for a moisturizing shampoo. Loved this video per usual.
No, not stripped. Just really clean. It definitely felt like it needed conditioner though!
Thanks for trying this brand, I was so curious about it.👍🏽🤩
You are so welcome. I was curious as well. You know I had to show and tell!
Thanks for putting the link and the cost of products in the description.
Also, can you try the 4c only hair brand (black-owned business)
In talks with them, but we’ll see!
Your hair is so long! When you were rinsing I was like okay incheeez. I have had my eye on this brand. You hair looked really good after the mask. It was clumping the curls good. Nice review💚 That packaging is nice that oil bottle is impressive.
Thank you Jermaine! Yessss inchessss lol! I like it! I prefer thicker conditioners, but my hair definitely felt soft after leaving it on.
Lol! How is this expensive? People in the comments say this is expensive and I’ve paid 3x of this for other haircare lines and they performed mediocre compared to this. This is perfect for me.
Looks great! Will save some dough to buy some Bread! I’m funny.
Anybody ever tell you you could be the missing Mowry triplet?
Haha I like the pun! Yes, I get that a lot. 🥰
It seems like your hair length just took off
Thanks for the honest review. I can appreciate the support of black owned brands. That price point is serious but, I'll try this after I recover from my Black Friday Haul. LOL
🤣 That’s real.
Your curls 😍😍 your hair looks so textured it’s beautiful
Ayyyy! Great review! Your hair is so beautiful! Will definetly look into it.
Your hair has grown so much and looks beautiful
You remind me Essence Atkins. Great video!
I really like it. I had to stop using it because my skin is sensitive to fragrance. It is expensive and I still have half of it.
Thanks for this review! I pay this price point for Aveda so I'd try this. The shampoo/conditioner packaging is scissors-friendly, for every last drop and environ-conscious. 👍🏾
The oil *bottle* is a fail. It's cute for display but not ergonomically friendly! I'd put the oil I actually use in a smaller, cylinder shaped bottle. Thus adding extra overall packaging.👎🏾
I’m mostly interested in the conditioner! I love to clarify every wash day, so I know that shampoo won’t do my scalp justice. I’m also interested in the oil, however the first ingredient is soybean oil, and that’s a no no lol. But I just might indulge lol
I keep hearing mixed things about soybean oil. Bad to ingest it, but why (outside of applying it to your scalp) do you think it’s a no no?
@@LaToyaEbonyHair well I do wanna try it, because it’s sold in Sephora, and I always trust them to have clean ingredients these days. Especially when promoting a black owned brand. However, soybean oil is a very cheap oil, that can be ok for moisture, but it’s mostly ok for shine. So if I’m spending over 20 bucks, for an oil blend that’s mostly soybean oil, I feel cheated. Yet, I know a good amount of people that enjoy it. So, I’m torn. Plus, as a Sagittarius, I have to at least try and formulate my own opinion lol.
Ah, I see you point. It’s feels really nice surprisingly. The great thing about Sephora is you can ALWAYS get samples!! Try it before you invest. That’s my motto! 🙌🏾
@@LaToyaEbonyHair you got that right! I’m definitely gonna look into it! Thanks for always having a wonderful dialogue! I know it’s not always easy, but it’s super appreciated!🧡
I’ve read that soy in general is linked to cancer especially in women
Can you do a step by step of your hair regimen please !! I love your hair and your personality !(:
I keep hearing "bread" like their talking about food...kinda disappointed, lol😩, BUT I can't wait to try this brand:)
Me: I can't wait for the day both bread and Nizoral would sponsor you.
You: Bread already did.
Me: *Spends forever on your channel, searching for the video and I found it*
I'm so glad I did. It feels like I won a lottery 🤣 I don't know, but I feel the products were made for me. I loveee bread. Lol. But sadly, I live in Africa and I don't have the access to such products.
I just tried this brand last month and I really like it. I do add jbco when I apply the hair mask.
Thanks for the video! However, with the price point of these products, I was hoping to hear the word AMAZING! I guess I’ll eventually try them, but they are not in my high priority list!
🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️Are these pouches refillable? If not I would just cut that open when it comes to the end 🤭
Great review 💖💖💖
I'm going to get the box and the hair cream...support black owner female business...🤗
I'm new to your channel as of yesterday and was looking /wondering about the Aztec clay hair mask. I just ordered everything I need for it and will be here on the 12th. Was wondering if u have tried it or your thoughts on it before I do it ? I really like your videos and just going down your list watching them. ❤❤❤
I’m interested in the conditioner.
I don't know why but I just can't get excited about this. Maybe because all I can picture is me dropping that oil and spilling it everywhere... Maybe one day after I use up a lot of the other things I just bought.
I know...seems like it won't work for 4c hair
I got a sample from the oil yesterday waiting to put it in after I wash
Niiiice
Ooooo, Ive been wondering about this brand 🧐
Me tooooooo! I’m so happy I got to try it!
You look just like the lady playing in Sylvie's Love on Prime(the daughter working in the record shop).
Don’t know if it works but I know that hair is growing.
YAAASSSS! I think it’s time for a trim and length check
Love your videos! 🥰
Thank you Drew! 🥰
Great review!
I think they changed the smell since this….mine doesn’t really smell like anything 🤷🏻♀️
Good to know!!
Ur so gorgeoussss 🥰🥰😍🥰🥰. Luv ur hair sis ❤️ supa cute
Thank you beautiful!! ❤️
Hey sis, so I cut my hair because I had dreads and it’s short and ugly and I’m insecure :( I don’t know what hair products to use to grow it back please if you can help me!!
You seem excited about it but the price...uhhh nah for me.
Lovely ☺️
I really wanted to love this brand but it just does not work for me. I have the cream and it has zero hold and it doesn't define my hair. I also bought the gel and that was also disappointing.
The cream I love as a moisturizer. The gel definitely doesn’t have high hold. If you’re looking for defining products, Bread definitely doesn’t have that yet.
Tear it and remove everything 🤷
Problem solved lol
I am excited along that they smell good lol
Ipsy has the oil for $10
Ooooo nice!!
I didn’t follow the washing directions at all and loved it. Don’t have time to be sectioning hair...
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank for sending your products my way. ❤️❤️❤️
🥰
This hair oil has LEAD in it. read the ingredients please
Where? I didn't see lead.
You hair is getting soooo long!
I’m so excited too!!
Ima pass!
