Kinky Curly come clean shampoo and leave in will always be in my arsenal. I always use the shampoo on my scalp for the first wash, then I'll go in with a moisturizing shampoo. The knot today is by far my favourite leave in. Applying it in the shower makes my hair feel like cotton clouds lol. I do like the custard too, but the smell is soooooo strong. Smells good, but I don't like when I'm at work and other departments know I've been through there cuz the WHOLE area gets scented. Sometimes I like to flow through work like a ninja and that dang custard gives me away every time😑😆
Love these recommendations I would like to try Bread Beauty. One of my favorites right now is MICH Beauty based out of MD, black women owed. Great hair products.
Thank you so much for your video. I lost a lot of hair do to alopecia. I thankfully was able to get a lot of it to grow back but my hair grew back in a different texture. I have been looking for new products to try to get the best outcome. You have given me a list to start with. Thank you!
I have a few coming on my other channel. 💜 I have a Mented lipstick and beauty products (makeup). I will be showcasing some skincare in my next Amazon livestream as well!
@@LaToyaEbonyHair Ooh! I don't know if the skincare part is all planned out already but I just came across Bevel Skincare - a line made by and for Black men. I had no idea it existed and was so happy to see it. Just dropping this since you mentioned having products for the men in this video. We haven't used it for long to know how well it works (just a couple days) but the ingredients look good from a non-professional pov and the packaging design and scents are lovely if folks don't mind fragrance.
I did WnG's for a long time using L.A. Looks Gel or any gel I found in the store. In 2008 I saw Str8Isis us Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I tried it and never looked back. I have added other botanical gels like UFD and sometimes Curl Maker, but KCCC stays in my rotation. So I understand how you feel about the brand. I use a loc soc to preserve my WnG at night because they make a 36" which is excellent for my hair length so I'll check out the loc cap. If they have one long enough I might get one. I was recently diagnosed with CCCA, and I've never been happier that I choose to stick to the same products. When my dermatologist asked me about the products I used it was a short list and I didn't have to think about it. The derm was satisfied that none of them would interact poorly with my prescribed scalp solution.
I never had so many knots to detangle with Uncle Funky☹️ At first, I was excited with the results, but it made me hate my curl pattern even worse🤦🏽♀️ But yes, it gives maximum results and it held… I guess it depends on your curl pattern for complete satisfaction 🤷🏽♀️
Alaffia Define Curl Custard has AMAZING slip. It's like a gel but very thin and runny. It's hard to explain. When I use it, it's so easy to rake my fingers through my strands. I use it for twist outs so I can't give a review for how it works for wash n gos but I've never used a product with this much slip before it's crazy. So give it a try if you can!
Sorry y’all but random question 🙋🏽♀️… if you’re doing a twist out and you retwist at night, do you add more cream/gel? Just wet it? Or what /how do y’all do for daily twist outs ?? Thank you in advance 😊
I make 4 to 5 chunky twists then pull them up into a silk scrunch and put on a silk bonnet. Or I pull it up in a loose bun secured with a silk scrunchy/bonnet and just untwist and fluff in the morning. I am able to maintain around 5 days. The main thing for me is not manipulating the hair too much or it is puff city.
It depends for me. If it’s a new twist-out I’ll spritz a little water. If its old I may add a little more mousse before twisting. These days I let my hair be and wash when it’s time lol
Am I the only woman who prefers scents marketed for men? 🫢 I don’t know what it is, but some of my lady scented products smell like they tried too hard or not enough. Or maybe I’m just partial to teakwood, bergamot and all those warmer scents. Anyway, Melanin Haircare’s deep conditioner and Camille Rose’s Moisture Milk (for refreshing) are definitely staples for me 😍 I’ve tried a lot of deep conditioners that moisturize, but Melanin’s is the only one that makes my hair feel, look and stay hydrated for days. I’m not crazy about the scent, but she could’ve thrown every scent in existence in that jar and I would still buy it. TGIN’s Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer also better stick around with the same formula until I leave this earth b/c it’s the only product that tames and shines my frizz.
Ah you like darker scents. That’s cool! You might like the Scotch Porter brand. I am done shopping for hair products for a while (as you can see) I have enough, BUT at some point I’ll try TGIN and Melanin’s deep conditioner. Thank you so sharing your favorites!!!
Love the Black owned brands! And I thought you did try a Mousse Def wng? Someone I watch did and inspired me to try it; it is the only wng I do now. I think it was Nap85 🤔 actually! Let us know what you think when you try it.
I love the green apple line from taliah waajid and since I know it is black owned ☺️ I forgot to mention how beautiful your hair looks in this video. I literally can see the softness 😍
Hey Jenn 👋🏾 I swear I keep hearing about the same 5 black-owned brands and each time I’m to the brim with hair products. One of these days!! Thanks for sharing your fav!
I don’t view Black brands as “selling out” if they get acquired. Maybe it’s because I’m a little involved in the startup world, but many brand owners’ goal all along was the exit plan. There will always be Black-owned brands to lean on either way.
The Camille Rose mask is literally my fav hair product. My hair loves it !
It’s soooooo good. I hope the formula stays the same forever!

And Latoya that’s a good twist out you got going on!!
Tutorial coming soon ☺️
@@LaToyaEbonyHair so Latoya what do you do as far as with a daily twist out? Do you add products and retwist daily or wet it and retwist or what??

Oh cool! I actually have never heard of that brand. There’s so many amazing brands out there!
I love Kinky Curly Come Clean and the Kinky Curly Gel!! They will always be part of my wash day 🎉❤
It’s such a great combination!
I love camille rose products 😊
There are so many products that I want to try now so thanks for doing this video
You are so very welcome ☺️

Design Essentials for me!
how about black owned/started skincare, i love the lip bar and mented, Grace Eleyae slap cap
Oh my gosh, yeah, I could really use a rundown of this since I'm just getting into skincare and learning about our needs.

@@quirkyviper I love the Bevel brand! or at least my husband loves it. I didn't talk about it, but I'll try to remember to link it or something.

Why would you hate your curl pattern?
It made my hair really dry.
I haven’t used it alone. I put mousse on top and it worked well for me.
@@LaToyaEbonyHair I haven’t tried it with mousse. Maybe I’ll give it another go because mousse definitely works for me

Ohh yesss I love uncle funkys daughter gel is it!
Mmhmmm!
Hi this is off the topic where did you get your necklace so pretty
That was great to be exposed to more Black Owned hair products. Is the loc cap lined?
No it’s not. I was hoping it would be! I have a list on Amazon that has one that is though. 💚
Okay Latoya you don't have to tell me about Camille Rose again.. Hahah I will buy next.I also will try out the Bread leave in conditioner.

I tried it’s with UF curly magic, not all my itself yet. I DID use it for a twist-out alone, though!

Hi 👋
Hey 👋🏾 🥰
Can’t use any of this fragrance products oh well
Ahhhh I haven’t checked the labels. I think some might be naturally scented, but I don’t know for sure.

I thought the hair rules guy was white but it makes sense he’s so knowledgeable about black hair since I’m assuming he’s got some black in there too!
I really wish he sold on Amazon. I’m always scared to buy products in a format that I can’t return if it doesn’t work for me😢
He does! His products are on Amazon too.
He told me he’s Black. He just has red hair naturally,
😍💜
Thanks for stopping by!
I just hope they don’t sell out!
