I was sick with a cold for a week and had to stop running. Today I went for an 8km run and at the last km I started feeling this lateral knee pain, I'd never had anything like this on my runs before. Thank you for this video, I'm gonna try these out...
I find that when it starts to appear then standing as tall as I can tightening my lower abs and hip flexors, as well as focusing on pushing with my glutes really helps. Also to run on "straighter" legs.
THANK YOU. I'm gonna try all of these. I've been having lateral knee pain on my left leg and I've been trying to find ways to really fix the issue once and for all.
Right lateral knee pain hit me today at the 1 mile marker as well as last week at the one mile marker. Thanks for the video. Will try the exercises and not run for a while. Actually the long lever bridge hurts too much so I can't do that at the moment.
Running for 45 mins, sudden sharp stab on the outer right knee. Wasnt that painful but didnt wanna risk anything. Took a 2 day rest, after 30 mins the pain is back. Assuming this is lateral knee pain, ill be doing this. Hoping for the best
Went back to a track and field team recently. First time in 15 years back on a track ❤ Although I had some fitness from the gym the sessions were extremely exhausting and now, after the third both knees hurt a little when walking up stairs quickly or when jumping. Gym stuff still works quite well, even for the legs. Would you suggest to keep doing weighted squats and leg curls (both ways)? Training was mostly jumping and sprinting 😅
Should I keep running during training? or should stop running for a few weeks/months while training these exercises? Should I try to keep running through the pain? or when feel the pain I must stop?
I don’t see a significant benefit. Focus on improving torsion (the ability to rotate the knee laterally while keeping the big toe down) and then stability through the hip. That plus a slight increase to cadence and you will be good to go in a few weeks
My mileage is 50 meters. a 10% increase each week seems so little... that is 5m. 10 weeks to do a 100m. Pfft it wil take a long time to even run what I did two weeks ago (3 km).
He means you should increase your training volume 10% weekly. So if you can run just 50m it doesn’t mean it is your training volume. You can do intervals for example: 50m run 100m walk and you can repeat it 5x so your volume is 750m. Personally I don’t believe you can only run for 50m it means you have severe cardio-respiratory problems
Lmao well us runners have an issue on development with legs since we beat them so much it's hard for muscles to get big, how bout u stop being so judgemental, At least this guy is helping others with the same issue unlike you who just says need leg day obviously dudes hitting his legs he's a runner smart guy!

If it's movement related I typically recommend to keep running but not through significant pain. High cadence (step rate) runs.
Do you believe kinesthetic tape would also be helpful for this type of pain?

Fuck this happened to me last night while running it’s painful
I only have side knee pain when I’m running downhill! Ugh!
I have the exact same symptom. Were you able to get over it by these exercises?
