    In the last year I've had a pretty significant career change coming from 14 yrs in the carpet cleaning industry and hundreds of hrs of certification training. I'm now back in construction and have found an interest in detailing and listening to all the chemical formula talk (ph, surfactants, and the like), I feel like I'm able to keep using some of that knowledge I've learned over the years. I love listening to both of your knowledge bases. Thank you for making the content you both make. 🙂

    Guys, great info and insight into the industry. Pan, you mentioned that the chemist is legally obligated to make sure the formulas are different. My question is… if your spray sealer for example is blended at company A and Ivan’s is blended at company B is it conceivable that both formulas are very much the same or nearly exact? I assume chemists that work at different companies can’t share formulas.

    Since I have you both to answer a question. I used the DIY 5 year ceramic coating on my car. When I wash my car I noticed that the water is sheeting off and not really beading anymore. I applied the coating in May of this year. I did prep the surface (Washed the car, decontaminated with the DIY Clay towel, polished the car with DIY Gold standard, polished again with the APP and then coated the car). From videos I have seen online, it seems that the coating might be clogged up. How do I restore the coating to get it to bead up again. You guys are GREAT and I love the videos that you both put out and watch them all of the time. Thank you for your time. Greg

      @@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343unless the chemist is on your payroll, or you make a legal contract that the chemist can make a product for you, he most likely makes commission off your sales etc etc. many different situations. In those cases it’s not white label. Doesn’t matter if they make chemicals for other companies. Chemists are usually independent contractors so they don’t make money off just making products for one company. Unless it’s a big company and on payroll. But many cases, blend house chemists are usually owners themselves. It’s very common for chemists to eventually create blend houses and sell products for side money. But most blend houses, They have their own chemicals and they can tweak a little bit for your preferences, but you can’t tell them to change the recipe and most likely someone else also has your chemical too.

    • @InfiniteDetailing101
      @InfiniteDetailing101 7 днів тому

      @@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343in our case as nighthawk, we have a chemist on our payroll. Some of our stuff is white label and we are transparent about it. Our flagship stuff isn’t white label. We could just go to bnb and get everything off there, but the problem with them is even if they develope stuff for you, the other guy can have the same thing. Starting out I guess is fine, gotta start somewhere.
      But my point is, bc there’s so many smaller companies like us, many chemists take advantage of making some money off multiple companies and it’s super common bc not every chemist made it to blend house level or hired by huge companies. Unless they’re blend houses then they usually don’t care and just want ppl to white label their product.

    I don’t know if it’s just me, but this comment section really scares me. Maybe we have a different mindset in Norway, but I don’t see the point in comments that focus on personal characteristics. If you're interested in detailing, why not just watch and learn? Check out different sources.
    Take the rotary vs. DA debate, for example. Many people have strong opinions on this, but have you tried Yvan’s method yourself or seen how others use it? Where I live, we have an amazing professional detailer. As a hobbyist, I asked him: "Is it better to use a rotary than a DA?" He said: "I hardly use the rotary anymore." I then asked someone else: "What do you think about finishing with the rotary?" He said: "It gives better gloss than a DA, but not enough that you’d notice it." I’ve also watched videos and listened to podcasts to learn more. Learning takes time, and we all start somewhere.
    Yvan and Pan can’t cover every detail on UA-cam, but that’s why we have the comment section - not for sarcasm or off-topic remarks. What truly matters is how the product works for the user. I’ve never seen Yvan or Pan start a video with, "Do this with this product and you’ll mess it up." They’ve tested it so we can learn and adjust.
    If you don’t like this kind of content, like I don’t enjoy watching videos with people misusing children on UA-cam, then just stop watching. Let us who want to have on-topic discussions do so in peace. We are grown up men (most of us). Men WASH cars, they don't hate people for making it possible. But what to expect (maybe)....😔

      Please explain why you think they are con artists. I tried both of their products and love them.

      How exactly is selling products a con? What is the con exactly? I'll wait for your response but won't expect anything substantive.
