  • Rinseless Wash means Rinse Less. It doesn't mean no hose. In fact, there are a lot of misconceptions out there about Rinseless Wash -- and that's what this podcast is here to talk about. Should a Rinseless Wash foam? What's the proper dilution? Is Rinseless safe? Should enthusiasts uses Rinseless, or traditional car wash soap?

LOVE your UA-cams guys! I've been using rinse-less on my customer cars ever since turning pro here in Montreal almost TEN (WOW ! Time sure flies when your'e having fun! :-) years ago and I'm TOTALLY ON BOARD with your pre-spraying the car with your rinse-less solution to loosen things up. LOVE it! HOWEVER . . .
Where I diverge a bit from your use of a sponge in the next step is this: like electricity, just because we can't SEE grit, doesn't mean it's not there. I NEVER re-introduce a sponge OR cloth (no matter how sophisticated or well rinsed) into the rinse-less wash media. Instead, I use 3 or 4 VERY PLUSH wash cloths folded in four to use a NEW cloth surface for EACH panel on the car. I then cast that cloth aside to use a new one on the next four panels. That way, each panel gets a fresh clean cloth surface, wet with fresh ZERO-GRIT rinse-less solution to gently wipe away the road film left on the panel's surface and then of course . . . go on to the next step of streak-free drying. Keep up the great work guys - you have really excellent, helpful videos, backed with SERIOUS detailing chops :-)

I’ve grown to appreciate rinse-less washing because HOA restrictions prevent me from washing my car at home. To work around this, I use a self-service car wash and incorporate a rinse-less method into my routine. First, I spray on the rinse-less solution as a pre-rinse before entering the stall. Then, I use the power washer to thoroughly rinse it off. Afterward, I spray on the rinse-less solution again, pull out of the stall, and wipe the car down with a microfiber towel since I can’t use a bucket. It might not be the perfect method, but it seems to work well for me. My only issue is when I pull it out of the stall, the rinse-less and/or water dry on the surface sometimes before I can wipe it down with the microfiber towel.

I like to spray on a traditional prewash and insect remover before prerinsing with a pressure washer. After that, I continue with the rinseless wash (prespray and contact wash) using a sponge and microfiber for tiny hard to reach areas. In my experience, the prewash with a dedicated maybe slightly alkaline product removes more dirt on the first and only rinse 🙂

No noticeable scratches after over three years doing this on both cars, but I am not looking for perfection. Just want clean cars.

If I ran my finger along the surface, I felt grit and grime. I’m not sure if I’ve noticed this before. I didn’t rinse the car off before since the temperature is so cold, but I wanted a clean car sill. Usually, I don’t have any trouble with this. I’m not sure if I did something wrong this time. I am loving Rinseless wash v2. If I get a mud covered truck in the shop, would two rounds of chemical, rinse chemical, with Rinseless be just as effective of a pre wash as something with higher pH such as all clean? I currently dont have any higher pH cleaners and was wondering if it’s even necessary as Yvan has pointed out.

During winter I mostly do a contactless wash, in a car wash (wand type), by first spraying DIY All Clean on the vehicle, and then rinsing it off using the pressure wand. I then drive away without any drying - since I haven't really removed all the dirt or traffic film, touching the car with the towel will risk scratches.
My question: to minimize water spotting or mineral deposits left on the vehicle by the water, is there any advantage to spray DIY Rinseless as my last step? I wonder if it encapsulate those minerals and dries them in a "polymer spot", which better protects the clear coat? Or is there no benefit to spraying rinseless in this scenerio?

But!.. a healthy water that is good for and alkaline for your body to drink, well water for instance, has minerals and likely other things that may taste good (I like well water) but that will continuously react with the Rinseless Wash chemical that will, “weaken” the surfactant properties of the Rinseless Formula after some days and will not do the job you want it to do.
You may wind up scratching or getting a rough friction when you go to hand wash the vehicle and start thinking “this rinseless sucks” when in actuality it has just been working very hard non stop the past few days doing what it was made to do and it just got tired lol
