It doesnt hurt jokic now because of the Championship. Jokic lost the MVP award due literally to just voter fatigue, complaining he doesnt deserve it without post season success. Youre just dick riding Shai, and this is from someone who doesnt have Jokic at #1. Also, the Mavs gotta win more, be more games above 500, and he'll be top 2. Also, wdym removed from the conversation??? He's like 3rd, that is literally in the conversation. Giannis honestly idk, maybe we are used to it, but the Bucks are a bit of a mess this year so who knows. (Also, shouldnt we ne trying to stop voter fatigue from being a thing? Why are we sticking with a stupid tradition just because it's a tradition.)
Jokic got robbed not cuz of voters fatigue but due to racist comment from "D*ck" Perkins. Now he keeps disrespecting Jokic again cuz he doesn't wanna admit he f*cked up supporting Mr. 2nd round-exit Embiitch
How is Jokic situation now different from Giannis in 2022. He just came of a championship and was having the best season of his career and playing like the best player in the league but they gave Joker the MVP as a six seed. Giannis suffered from voters fatigue and Joker isn't. And Embiid played mvp level basketball last year. It was not a robbery.
Voter fatigue also isn't hurting Jokic because HE DIDN'T WIN THE MVP LAST SEASON. These morons don't even know what voter fatigue means. Voter fatigue (and racism) is why Jokic didn't win the award LAST year. People act like Jokic won five MVPs in a row and the fatigue built up so much that it's leapfrogging multiple seasons. He won a grand total of two MVPs and then was robbed last season, so that eliminated any building fatigue. The only player who could've been affected by voter fatigue this season would've been Embiid. If this guy is applying voter fatigue to Jokic than why not apply it to Giannis too? Giannis has won back-to-back awards within the past 5 years. No voter fatigue for him though, right? Just for Jokic. Funny how that works.

He plays the most important defensive position and is a liability. He does box out and rebound which gives him some defensive value. So tell me, why am I wrong?
Jokic gets it because he's now a proven champion who's the best player on a top team. Also all the other candidates' teams would do just fine without them, without Jokic the nuggets are a lottery team.
Doesn’t understand why “voter fatigue isn’t kicking in for Jokic.” Understands that “voter fatigue” cost Jokic the MVP last year. Like, did you watch this back before you posted it?😂
I don’t think you understand how voting even works. A guy being voted 1st once does not mean him being voted 1st asecond time by a different voter is a lower probability. The first place votes are mutually exclusive, Jokic clearing in votes does not mean voters think his season is dramatically better than the others. It does mean that many do think he is having a slightly better season, and considering the dire state of the bucks atm andthe Mavs not having a high seed, it is not surprising that Jokic has as many votes as he does.
So you're saying voter fatigue is a GOOD thing that SHOULD keep Jokic from winning the MVP? Did I hear that right? Wow, that is one terrible take. Why would voter fatigue still be affecting Jokic? He didn't win it last year. This argument is absurd. Luka should be the MVP this year, but team record (and that other issue that also affects Jokic) will keep him from being in the Top 2 in final votes.
Your point about how whoever wins MVP is just a consolation prize, that reminds me when Draymond was supposed to win DPOY and then he went down and then they gave it to Marcus Smart .
I think voters are just terrified of voting someone MVP, just for them to lose in the first or second round. Despite the MVP being a regular season award technically, playoff performance does matter to voters even if they don't wanna admit it.
SGA is leading a team of 22 to 23 year olds to the top of the west while averaging 31-6-6 with 3.5 steals+blocks. He should be the MVP if the season ended today
I think the 2 reasons Joker isn't being hit by voter fatigue is; 1) He's turned it up with the triple doubles to now include 100% true shooting performances. But 2nd and more importantly, he wouldn't be here this season if he'd just been awarded last season like he should have. If there's a season where Embiid deserved it, it would be this season. But its like they knew he wouldn't be healthy enough to ever win it again, so they forced it to go to him last season. Think of this as a compensation vote to give Joker what he was robbed of in 2023
MVP is becoming a Team award obviously since the player award should be awarded to ESPN non-prefered, but actually the BEST PLAYERS. This year Luka, last year Jokić.
I’m sick and tired of the league disrespecting Luka. Like Luka is an MVP this year, dude is literally averaging 30 points every game and he somehow isn’t even top 3 of the MVP race.
The Bucks have looked worse than anyone could've expected, and just went 1-4 on their west road trip. Also, Luka stats arent leading to major team wins. Just last year, the Mavs missed the play-in, and luka had great individual stats. At some point, team success has to follow, especially when you have other mvp candidates who are leading their teams to high seedings. That said, I do think Luka should be a top 2 candidate. I also think Tatum should be in that top 3 list, or even leading
Jokic is getting the votes because he was robbed last year. Joel Embiid is not the MVP, he's a glass cannon. To be the MVP you have to be great allround and durability is very important. Anyway, we all know that this is Luka's season. Shai is not even close. Stop hating on the facts.
Embiid has played the easiest schedule. Embiid has missed any away game against team above . 500. He was not the MVP. Last season Jokic was hit by racism, not voter fatigue. If there weren't affirmative action "jurnalists" there wouldn't be voter fatigue.
I think you’re dead on with every single point. As a Nuggets fan obviously I love that Jok is leading the race but I know his play isn’t really at the level of his 2 MVP seasons. I’m just happy the discourse isn’t toxic like it has been the past 2 years.
That's not how it works. This sentence means nothing you could say it for 8 people. He is not the mvp because he can defend and has a lot of wins otherwise the mvp would be tatum, and it's definetly not him
Many argue that Jokic deserved mvp last year but lost due to voter fatigue. So this year voters want to make sure they don’t do it again. I don’t see how you can say Jokic is not the mvp. He is so efficient with insane stats and a good team. And the Nuggets offense has a lot of trouble scoring without having Jokic as the center of the offense.
My favourite is Luka, he is way better than other candidates Mavs should try reaching six or fifth place and MVP will be his. With no more excuses and ignorance.
Only thing is disagree on is shai not being an elite defender he definitely been elite this season and should be in serious consideration for all defensive team

honestly, the nba shouldnt touch the mvp award anymore. Fans dont care about consistency anyways. embiid is the one who refused to stay on the court, how is it the nba fault for saying he cant win
Giannis is a great player, but offensively, his true shooting % isn't because of his shot improvement. It's from living in the paint. Luka's shooting is far above Giannis. Jokic is a much better offensive player than Giannis. Neither are anywhere near him in defense, though. Jokic is the better teammate & leads by example by how he plays the game. His team is behind him because he engages them. He doesn't set himself apart from them in a way that Luka & Giannis do.
I feel like Luka is the best player right now but his teams record will probably be the reason he doesn’t get it I want Shai to get it personally, I’m happy embiid won’t get it cuz he didn’t deserve the one last year
You say Embiid was having a historic season and was a lock to win MVP but Luka is having an even more historic one. Depending on which site's stats you use he's either #1 or #2 for points with 34 just slightly behind Embiid's 35. He''s #3 for assists. #2 for 3 pointers. And he's doing it all with great flair and style. Hitting more difficult shots than Embiid and having many of these Luka Magic wow moments and pulling off crazy shots. You put together a HL reel of Luka's and Embiid's and there's no comparison. Don't get me wrong, Embiid is great and he's a scoring machine but so is Luka and he's a great passer and he's not ducking games. Embiid is hailed as a god for scoring 70 by the media but Luka puts up the most efficient 70 + points game in history shortly after and the media, especially ESPN, don't even give him any credit and suddenly the narrative being pushed is all about defence. Luka went 23-33 from the field and had 16 FTA Embiid went 24-41 with like 23 FTA if I remember correctly Embiid is going full throttle. Hence why he keeps getting injured.
Media is so scared of Luka greatness. Saying s.hit like he is a ballhog, that teammates doesnt like him, about his defense(classic)... But bad narrative will work because most of NBA fanbase only watch highlights, they favourite team and i.diots like Perk, SAS and Skip... 🤡🤡🤡 People who watch the games knows the truth. 👌
I think almost every argument in the video is flawed. I do however agree with Luka and ginnis 1 and 2 and Shai as third. Jokic is not as great this season for his own standard
To me it’s been between Giannis and SGA, I do think seeding matters and no I don’t think Jokic should have won as a 6 seed and I don’t think Russ should have won it over Harden Giannis’s case is taking a big hit since they hired Doc tho
shai is winning lol - skill issue (30 ppg got the narrative, OKC will be 1 seed with top 5 defence and offence, also leading league in steals and best finisher in the league xx)
This guy doesn't understand how voting works. For example there are 100 people that rates jokic as a 99 and sga as a 98.9. That close. 1st place vote goes to jokic and sga 2nd. When you tally it up. 100 votes go to jokic as 1st. It's just a unanimous vote. 100 to zero even though they're close in mvp rating.
Do we ACTUALLY give a fuck about MVP? Embiid won it last year and couldn’t make it out the second round. It’s a regular season award and honestly I view the regular season as high level scrimmages for seeding. Playoffs Are the only thing I care about
Sga has the most 30+ games, will make an all defense team, and has a team of young players flirting with the 1st seed in the west. Pretty solid case if you ask me. LuKa DrOpPeD 70 tHo. Aight, just give him the award then.
I assume nobody watched Fiba world championship last year and how Canada easily lost to Serbia in sf (without Jokic) SGA at that point was probably best player of the tournament and was shut down by a guy also nobody ever heard of, called Aleksa Avramovic (plays in Europe). So, his regular season stats are inflated and overrated. If he makes it big in the playoffs, we can talk next year. This year its Jokic or Giannis.

Think about it, it’s the success fatigue, the greatness fatigue. His narrative got boring because u r use to seeing him dominate. Also Jokic just literally had a better season than him in every aspect except scoring. More assist more rebounds and on better efficiency with like 2 less points a game that season.
Jokic on the other hand won two straight loses in the playoffs and then the narrative becomes he cant win another MVP in a close MVP race cause his lack of playoff success and immediately wins a championship, wiping away that narrative and invigorating the narrative that developed of him being robbed
@@el1tefire252but they literally used the same narrative as the reasoning for not giving Giannis his 3rd straight. Because he hadn’t won, and just like jokic, he ended up winning the year they didn’t give him his 3rd straight. The next year, 22, he was regarded as the best in the league, and rightfully so imo. But still they gave it to jokic again. Last year, he was having his best offensive year, and had the number 1 seed and I wanna say also had the highest winning % of any player in the league that year and they gave it to Embiid. This year he’s just been ignored and disrespected completely. Having a better offensive year than last year, and is going to make nba history being the only player to average 30ppg on 60% shooting and nobody cares.
Embiid's MVP candidacy was a complete joke anyway. Flopping merchant, statpadding vs crap teams, ducking marquee match-ups.
Thank you. I don't wish an injury on anyone, but I'm glad Embiid is out of the running. Voter fatigue and racism handed Embiid the award last season. Fortunately he won't win another sham MVP.
Giannis would not win MVP due to the buck's instability. Secondly, people have become normalised to Giannis greatness as an NBA player.
the fact that people actually think shai has a better case than luka is baffling lmfao
He kinda does the only argument luka has is players being injured but in terms of the the typical criteria of mvp shai has an argument
@@Wrestle_Kingdom how luka has better stats and has broke tons of records already including a 73point game. So there you have stats and narrative. We now know standings dont really matter because we have seen players win mvp without a high seeding so that argument is null. Shai has better defense, granted, but not only has luka’s defense improved but luka’s offensive output outweighs what sga brings on both ends in terms of value. So there you have it. Zero arguments can be made for sga because everything shai does, luka does at a higher level.
@@daniellee1037standings does matter just because they’re anomaly’s doesn’t mean that’s how the awards is gonna continue to be, plus jokic and Westbrook had better narratives than Luka those seasons and less competition
Shai argument is very simple he leading an okc team to a top 3 seed while also leading the 2nd youngest team in the nba to a top 3 seed, his 2nd and 3rd best player is a rookie and sophomore and made a team that was a play in team last year to a team people are saying can actually contend
Also the stats argument is stupid simply because both players are putting up amazing stats Luka is better in terms of assist and rebounds everything else is close also shai has drastically improved as well his stats would look way better especially his assists if josh giddey wasn’t on the court the only thing that Lula does that way better than shai is passing everything else they’re close and shai is a good playmaker
Shai is playing Better
That rookie is a top rookie of the year candidate, and that sophmore is averaging 19pts per game. Not to mention OKC's bench has the best +/- in the league. Shai didnt pull miracles making OKC a contender. Mvp should be Tatum, and it sad the media doesnt give him any credit
Russ was also the 6th seed. No one has ever won MVP as a 7th seed or lower and only 3 ever have won it as a 6th seed, the other being Moses Malone.

That’s it
And not even elite role players just basic average role players
Luka needs to put up these numbers
Also Jokic didn’t have a shitty team
He missed both of his stars yes
But he had solid role players to rely on to give him 13-15 points and he still had Aaron Gordon who is very underrated
Jokic had a better balanced roster than luka
And Russ stat padded for god sakes
And not like he had absolutely nobody
He had a 15 point per game scorer on his team a young Victor oladipo
I agree that his roster is worse than Luka’s
But his numbers are fake as hell
Embiid was deserving of the MVP this year and not last season, but let's be real... Jokic is the best player in the NBA, he should have 4 MVPs in a row. However, the Mavs are looking like a TEAM for once. If the mavs can get top 5 in the west Luka may be the MVP
I thought for a second you weren’t going to mention Gianni’s and luka but I kept watching I totally agree because people are ignoring what Gianni’s is doing and it’s insanity
NBA PR slandering Luka for the billionth time. Specially ESPN
Most casuals see kyrie and assume he has a lot of help
i really dont get why nobody wants luka to win
hopefully u use that same logic towards Giannis having Dame..... -.-
if Jokic wins the MVP this year, it is the same as Embiid last Year.
The MVP Award is totally broken over the last years and so inconsistent.
If the vote is just 1st place votes, unless you think someone is above Jokic, than you can’t get mad abt how much of landslide it was bc they aren’t just gonna vote someone like Tatum or Ant for the hell of it or to “keep the race close”
Jokic is the best tbh. Out of 82 games. Jokic will only have 4-8 bad games ALL SEASON tops. You cannot say that for anyone else in the league… also take off that damn bonnet. Nas x lookin ahh 💀
Maybe 4-8 bad offensive games but he has like 80 bad defensive games
@@RMusing you dont watch his game. That was a !Gnorant statement. When it clutch time he will get blocks or a defensive stop. That’s why KCP & AG on the team 🔒
@@CashMoney5280 I think you don't watch his game if you think he is a good defender. He plays the most important defensive position and is a liability. He does box out and rebound which gives him some defensive value. So tell me, why am I wrong?
@@RMusingSGA is in this category. He's Mr 31. Super consistent.
Jokic gets it because he's now a proven champion who's the best player on a top team. Also all the other candidates' teams would do just fine without them, without Jokic the nuggets are a lottery team.
Didn't apply to Giannis in 2022
Man the universe fixed itself Jokic was supposed to win lay year and Embiid was supposed to win this year ironic innit
It's all about the PER these days.
Luka 28.1
Giannis: 29.5
Shae 30.5
Joker 31.1
It's not a coincidence. Love it or hate it - it's the league we got.
No one mentioned Embiid PER this season. He PER was like 35 and no one said anything. They just hated him for his ft
Luka doesn’t get the respect as other players. The media loves to pick their favorites, Specially Stephen A. and Skip.
Doesn’t understand why “voter fatigue isn’t kicking in for Jokic.”
Understands that “voter fatigue” cost Jokic the MVP last year.
That's what im thinking. This guy doesn't understand how voting works.
Russ was a 6th seed just like Jokic dude, but I see your point.

Voters with fatigue,,give back your vote.Luka MVP
Jokic is MVP and its not even close.
Luka is averaging more assists than Jokic you got it wrong lol
Your point about how whoever wins MVP is just a consolation prize, that reminds me when Draymond was supposed to win DPOY and then he went down and then they gave it to Marcus Smart .
I think voters are just terrified of voting someone MVP, just for them to lose in the first or second round. Despite the MVP being a regular season award technically, playoff performance does matter to voters even if they don't wanna admit it.
Then they shouldn't have voted for Embiid last season.
Luka should win mvp
The voter fatigue is not affecting Jokic this season because they got over it when they didn't give him the last MVP, now he is allowed to win more
The Bucks have looked worse than anyone could've expected, and just went 1-4 on their west road trip.
We all know Luka is better and has a better season than SGA, but media doesn't want to hear it.
Jokic is still the best.
This dude fr loves his bonnett🤣🤣
I think you’re dead on with every single point. As a Nuggets fan obviously I love that Jok is leading the race but I know his play isn’t really at the level of his 2 MVP seasons. I’m just happy the discourse isn’t toxic like it has been the past 2 years.
Shai should be the MVP. He is a great 2-way player who is leading his team to one of the best records in the NBA.
That's not how it works. This sentence means nothing you could say it for 8 people. He is not the mvp because he can defend and has a lot of wins otherwise the mvp would be tatum, and it's definetly not him
Why do you wear boxers on your head?
Many argue that Jokic deserved mvp last year but lost due to voter fatigue. So this year voters want to make sure they don’t do it again. I don’t see how you can say Jokic is not the mvp. He is so efficient with insane stats and a good team. And the Nuggets offense has a lot of trouble scoring without having Jokic as the center of the offense.
Luka will not only win MVP but also ring FMVP and scoring title
I’m ngl you might have cooked with this one because he very well is probably going to the finals 😂
My favourite is Luka, he is way better than other candidates
Mavs should try reaching six or fifth place and MVP will be his.
With no more excuses and ignorance.
1. Shai 2. Luka 3. Brunson 4. DMitch 5. Jokic
Finally somebody said it, Jokic should be top 5 in the mvp talks but he shouldn’t be the favorite.. He doesn’t deserve it more than Luka or Shai
Don’t know ball
Only thing is disagree on is shai not being an elite defender he definitely been elite this season and should be in serious consideration for all defensive team
SGA is not an elite defender. Lou Dort is, SGA almost never guards the best players and if he does they torch him
@nydibs shai is leading the league with 2 steals per game, 2nd place isn't even close
@jhacerivers - AI used to lead the league in steals too
Stop watching highlights, watch the games, and learn a lil something about basketball
Everyone is blinded by stats nowadays, SGA is the 4th best defender among the starters for okc
@@nydibs thank you he just gambles a lot which is why his steals are high he gets cooked on close outs and isn’t someone you just stick on the best player of the opposing team
Good vid, but I gotta disagree shai is an elite defender but that’s about it
Jesus christ im tired of people saying jokic should not be the mvp, it's definetly not a lock yet but y'all must not have seen his numbers, he is averaging just 4/5 points less then shai i think but he has way more rebounds and assists, shoots at better effeciency, yeah sga got more steals but it's not like jokic is a cone, he is doing ok on defence
And not mentioning that he got ejected early in 2 games hurting his stats and last games basically all of his teammates beside gordon have been pretty trash
honestly, the nba shouldnt touch the mvp award anymore.
I feel like Luka is the best player right now but his teams record will probably be the reason he doesn’t get it I want Shai to get it personally, I’m happy embiid won’t get it cuz he didn’t deserve the one last year
It’s really a toss up between Luka and Shai, and I’d give it to Luka rn.
I know his record doesn’t say THAT much, but I think Luka is about to lead the Mavs to probably the 3rd seed maybe even 2nd
It's Luka lol unquestionably, also this defence narrative is already over he's top 20 in defence in the league lol
Which site are you looking at?
Important context i feel thats not being brought up for luka: Unlike jokic in 2021, Luka team is in the play-in
You say Embiid was having a historic season and was a lock to win MVP but Luka is having an even more historic one.
Luka went 23-33 from the field and had 16 FTA
Embiid went 24-41 with like 23 FTA if I remember correctly
Embiid is going full throttle.
He needs to win more regular season games
I think almost every argument in the video is flawed. I do however agree with Luka and ginnis 1 and 2 and Shai as third. Jokic is not as great this season for his own standard
To me it’s been between Giannis and SGA, I do think seeding matters and no I don’t think Jokic should have won as a 6 seed and I don’t think Russ should have won it over Harden
Giannis’s case is taking a big hit since they hired Doc tho
You give it to shay than he flame out in the post season this award will be laughable
shai is winning lol - skill issue (30 ppg got the narrative, OKC will be 1 seed with top 5 defence and offence, also leading league in steals and best finisher in the league xx)
'Jokic isn't good defender" YEAAA WE SOW THAT SHIT IN PLAYOFF
This guy doesn't understand how voting works.
For example there are 100 people that rates jokic as a 99 and sga as a 98.9. That close. 1st place vote goes to jokic and sga 2nd. When you tally it up. 100 votes go to jokic as 1st. It's just a unanimous vote. 100 to zero even though they're close in mvp rating.
Great video man
Do we ACTUALLY give a fuck about MVP? Embiid won it last year and couldn’t make it out the second round. It’s a regular season award and honestly I view the regular season as high level scrimmages for seeding. Playoffs Are the only thing I care about
Why the bonnet tho? 🤔
Sga has the most 30+ games, will make an all defense team, and has a team of young players flirting with the 1st seed in the west. Pretty solid case if you ask me. LuKa DrOpPeD 70 tHo. Aight, just give him the award then.
but Shai earned it and He and The Thunder beats the warriors 3 times

Embiid winning a MVP is meaningless. He proved that last season. Historic season cause of his scoring? LOL in a NBA with no defense whatsoever.
I unfortunately don’t see giannis unless he’s carrying tf out of dame and doc, but it’s either Shai or Luka for me
